GOLDEN RETRIEVER CLUB OF SOUTH AUSTRALIA RUBY ANNIVERSARY CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW CRITIQUE JUDGE JIM RICHARDSON It was indeed flattering to be invited to judge at the Clubʼs 40 th Anniversary Show. Many Congratulations must go to the Shows organisers whose attention to detail is second to none compared to similar Clubs worldwide. In comparison to 2005 when I judged the Show I found that the overall quality had marginally improved and there were many, many bitches with whom I would have been pleased to take home. In comparison to the UK I found that most exhibits were in good, well muscled condition and this on a whole resulted in positive animated movement. Sincere thanks to the Club for their kind hospitality throughout my stay and for Heather and Brian Scholz for their kindness. Special mention must go to Peter Andrews whom I found to be a great character. It is sad that there are few characters left in the dog game today. The Club are very fortunate in having him to assist them. Thanks also to Ffiona the Photographer for allowing me to have some of the excellent photographs of the principal winners. Lastly special thanks to Karenne for her organisation and for putting up with me. Top marks for whoever is responsible for the Show Catalogue. In all my travels have never seen one so good. I thoroughly enjoyed my days judging and was pleased to learn that many of my winners were closely related. It was good to have Mervyn Phillpott present at the Show as an onlooker.
