Motels in the tracking test area There is a block of rooms being held at the Super 8, 1040 Bill Tuck Hwy., South Boston, VA, 434-572-6072 under the name Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America. They are blocking all these rooms in one wing together and are non-smoking rooms. They are holding these until March 20th, then releasing them. If you are interested, give them that name so they know where to put your reservation, but each person will reserve under their own name. The rate is $69 per night plus tax plus a $15 per pet fee per night. Waiver of Rights - Animals in Distress The Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America, Inc. reserves the right to remove any animal in distress from a parked vehicle or crate, and all persons attending these dog events hereby waive any claim for damages against the clubs for such removal. The Club regards the health, safety and life of any dog on the show grounds to be paramount to other property or privacy rights. We will attempt to reach the responsible party but cannot guarantee contact will be made before action is taken. ATTENTION EXHIBITORS The BMDCA requires the valid AKC DNA Profile Number for the dog entered on this form to be provided at time of entry. Failure to meet these requirements will render the dog ineligible to enter the event, this may result in the loss of all awards earned at the event, as well as subject the entrant to possible disciplinary action by the AKC and/or BMDCA, including but not limited to suspension from club privileges and entry of club events. DNA kits can be obtained from the AKC Online Store at www.akc.org. DON'T DELAY! STANDARD PROCESSING TIME IS 6-8 WEEKS AFTER RECEIPT. If it has been more than 8 weeks since the DNA sample was submitted to AKC and you have not yet received a DNA profile number AND need it for your 2013 Specialty entry, call AKC DNA Operations at: 919-816-3508 to obtain a preliminary DNA number (accepted in extenuating circumstances only.) Please allow an appropriate amount of time for the AKC to receive your sample and call NO LATER THAN one week prior to close of entries. FEES Entry Fees: $75 for TD and $125 for TDX. Fees include a $3.00 event service fee and $0.50 AKC recording fee. Make checks payable (in US Funds) to: BMDCA 2014. Express mail entries MUST have signature waiver. OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION A dark green qualifying rosette and commemorative professional tracking line will be awarded to all qualifiers. Eligibility: A statement of certification signed by an AKC tracking judge must accompany the entry form of each dog entering the TD test. All dogs entering TDX test must have their TD title. Entries Limited: 3 TD & 1 TDX Dogs. No exchanging or converting of TD to TDX tracks at this tracking test. Drawing for Entries and alternates will be conducted in accordance with Chapter 1, Section 12 of the AKC Tracking Regulations. These TD/TDX tests are open to all breeds, with preference given to Bernese Mountain Dogs. If required by the numbers and types of entries, there shall be up to four drawings for TD and up to four for TDX as follows: Draw (1) Bernese Mountain Dogs without a title, Draw (2) Bernese Mountain Dogs with a title; Draw (3) Other breeds without a title; Draw (4) Other breeds with a title. The drawing for entries will take place on Thursday, March 13th at 12 pm at Dogwood Training Center, West Road, Houston, TX. After the entry limit has been reached in either TD or TDX, all remaining entries, subject to the same preferences set forth above, will be similarly drawn and assigned a position on an alternate list. The Test Secretary will then notify all entries of the results by email on Thursday, March 13th. BITCHES IN SEASON MAY NOT PARTICIPATE. Any exhibitor with a bitch entered, which is in season on the trial date, will be refunded the entry fee, less $5 per entry, upon written certification from a veterinarian. Notification must be in the hands of the trial secretary no later than 7:30 AM on the date of the trial. Refunds will be mailed. All cancellations of entries must be made in writing (email acceptable) to the Test Secretary and received prior to the stated date and time of closing of entries. It is the exhibitor s responsibility to verify receipt of cancellation. Entry fees will be refunded if either (1) the entrant notifies the Secretary prior to the close (an administrative fee may be assessed) or (2) the dog is an alternate who does not run a track. No fees will be refunded except as noted above. The assignment of dogs to the tracks, by the drawing of lots, will occur on the day of the test at the test site: TD tracks at 7:45 AM; TDX tracks at 9:45 AM. All dogs and handlers must be present for the draw. Judging will begin as soon after the draw as the tracks are sufficiently aged and the judges are ready. AGREEMENT I (we) agree that the club holding this event has the right to refuse this entry for cause which the club shall deem sufficient. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or event secretary and the owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog.
