ELIGIBILITY In the following definitions of classes, first prize wins are those gained in standard classes at any Kennel Club licensed open agility shows (i.e. limited agility shows, invitation events, and special classes excepted). Agility classes will include contact points and jumping classes will exclude contact obstacles A class may either be held as a graded class or a combined class. A graded class may be scheduled for one or more consecutive grades with separate results and awards issued for each grade. A combined class may be scheduled for more than one consecutive grade with one overall set of results Progression from each grade will require one agility win or 3 jumping wins at that grade, except that progression from grade 6 will require 4 wins at grade 6, two of which must be in agility classes. Only a first place with a clear round will count towards grade progression. Results from combined classes will only count towards progression from a dog s current grade to the next grade. N.B. Owners, handlers or dogs previously qualified out of Grade 1 (or elementary) are not eligible for this class. For owners, handlers or dogs which have qualified out of Grade 1 but have not gained a first place in an agility class or three first places in jumping classes at Grade 2 at Kennel Club licensed agility shows, or elected to progress on points from Grade 1. N.B. Owners, handlers or dogs previously qualified out of Grade 2 (or starters) are not eligible for this class. Open to dogs which are not eligible for Grade 1 or 2 or have elected to progress on points from Grade 2 at Kennel Club licensed agility shows & dogs which are not eligible for Grade 4, 5, 6 or 7. Open to dogs which have gained a first place in an agility class or three first places in jumping classes at Grade 3 or elected to progress on points from Grade 3 at Kennel Club licensed agility shows and are not eligible for Grade 3, 5, 6 or 7. Open to dogs which have gained a first place in an agility class or three first places in jumping classes at Grade 4 or elected to progress on points from Grade 4 at Kennel Club licensed agility shows and are not eligible for Grade 3, 4, 6 or 7. Open to dogs which have gained a first place in an agility class or three first places in jumping classes at Grade 5 at Kennel Club licensed agility shows and are not eligible for Grades 3, 4, 5 or 7. Open to dogs which have gained a minimum of four first places at Grade 6 at Kennel Club licensed agility shows. At least two of these first places must be gained in agility (not jumping) classes. Special Snooker Open to all Grade 1-7 dogs. Two classes will be held at each jumping height, one for dogs graded 1-5, and the other will be for dogs graded 6-7.
RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. Dogs entered at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows must be registered at the Kennel Club in accordance with Kennel Club Regulations for Classification and Registration B, or else registration or transfer of registration must have been applied for. The registration number/authority to compete(atc) number will be required for each entry. 2. Entry fees are 5.00 for the first entry for the first dog, and thereafter 1.50 per class for the first dog and any other dogs entered by the owner, up to a maximum of 25.00 per owner, irrespective of the number of dogs entered. 3. There is no prize money. 4. The Committee reserves the right to refuse entries. 5. All dogs registered and resident outside the UK must be issued with a Kennel Club Authority to Compete number before entry to the show can be made. All overseas entries without an Authority to Compete number will be returned to the competitor. 6. Dogs under 18 calendar months of age on the day of the Show are not eligible to compete in Kennel Club licensed Agility shows. 7. Not for competition entries will be accepted for dogs aged 4 calendar months and over. Dogs must be Kennel Club registered with their details recorded on the entry form. There is no entry fee. 8. No bitch in season is allowed to compete. 9. No person shall carry out punitive correction or harsh handling of a dog at any time within the boundaries of the Show. 10. Dogs must not wear slip chains, collars or leads when under test. A flat, close fitting, leather or webbing collar is permitted providing the only attachment is a plain identification panel which is an integral part of the collar, ie not attached by a ring. 11. Should a judge be unable to fulfil the appointment to judge the Committee reserves the right to appoint another judge. 12. No competitor shall impugn the decision of the judge or judges. 13. Kennel Club Standard Marking Regulations apply. 14. The height limit for dogs is:- Large Dog classes for dogs measuring over 430mm (1ft. 5ins) at the withers; Medium Dog classes for dogs measuring over 350mm (1ft. 1.75ins) and 430mm (1ft. 5ins) or under at the withers; Small Dog classes for dogs measuring 350mm(1ft. 1.75ins) or under at the withers. 15. Judges may not enter a dog which is recorded in their ownership, or part ownership, or handle a dog at the show at which they are judging. Dogs may be disqualified if proved to have been handled by the scheduled judge s spouse or immediate family, or any resident at the same address. 16. A dog shall be withdrawn and removed from a show if it is: a bitch in season; suffering from any infectious or contagious diseases; interfering with the safety or chance of winning of an opponent: of such a temperament or is so much out of hand to be a danger to the safety of any person or animal; or likely to cause suffering to the dog if it continues competing. 17. In estimating the number of awards won, all wins up to and including 25 days before the start of the competition, i.e. 17 April 2012 shall be counted when entering for any class. For these purposes a competition shall be defined as all classes covered within the same schedule. In the event that a dog becomes eligible for the next grade at a particular show after the entry for that show has been sent, it is the competitor s responsibility to notify the show secretary at least 14 days before the date of the show. The dog should be moved to into the appropriate class(es) for the next grade. If there are fewer or no classes available for the next grade the competitor should be offered a refund of the relevant entry fees. 18. Should circumstances dictate, the Club, in consultation with the judges, may alter the arrangements as necessary. Any changes and the circumstances surrounding them will be reported to the Kennel Club. 19. No animal, other than those officially entered, shall be brought into the precincts of the event during its continuance, except dogs registered to assist the disabled, dogs required for educational or instructional purposes, and those admitted by permission of the General Committee. However, at the discretion of the show society, a dog brought to the show by a spectator may be admitted into the precincts of the show, provided that those in charge of the dog sign a declaration confirming that the dog is free from disease and that the dog will be kept under proper control at all times. 20. No dogs suffering from infectious or contagious disease, or having been exposed to such disease during the period of 21 days prior to the competition, may compete. Competitors infringing this regulation will be liable to be fined and/or dealt with under KC Rule A42. 21. It is the competitors responsibility to be available for their classes. 22. Food shall not be carried in the hand or given to a dog in the ring. 23. Should the judge deem a re-run is required, any result and /or faults gained in the previous run must be discounted. 24. Separate entry forms must be completed by each competitor and must be signed by each competitor, or an authorised agent, in accordance with the provision specified thereon.. 25. All dogs will be entered in the Show at their owners risk and whilst every care will be taken, the Committee will not accept responsibility for loss, damage or injury, however caused, to dogs, persons or property at the Show. 26. In the event that the show is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, Castlereagh and District Dog Training Club will refund fees, less reasonably incurred expenses, on receipt of a stamped, addressed envelope submitted within i month of the show date. 27. Entry forms must be accompanied by the appropriate fees. Incorrect entries will be returned. Welfare of Dogs: Owners (and handlers) whose dogs are entered in the show must take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dogs are met, and must not knowingly put their dogs health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. A breach of this regulation may be referred to the General Committee for disciplinary action under KC Rules and Regulations.
