A Note From Our Director GIVING THANKS FOR YOU Each year in November we are provided an opportunity to reflect upon and express what we are grateful for in celebration of Thanksgiving. Serving the Florida Keys SPCA as executive director reminds me every day: Every morning I step into the shelter and see the volunteers dedicating their free time to caring for our homeless animals through walks, cuddles and hard work cleaning cages -- for each and every one, I am grateful. Throughout the day as I see our staff responding to a fearful dog or cat that was just surrendered by their owner with extra care, gentle touches and soft voices to gain their trust, I am grateful. When I hear our staff share compassion with a concerned pet owner about options for an aging or ill pet, I am grateful. As I open the mail from supporters and receive gifts that directly impact our lifesaving mission and enrich the lives of the animals we care for; I am grateful. Each time our animal control officers are able to save the life of a mistreated animal and give them a second chance at finding the loving home they deserve, I am grateful. Most of all, I am grateful for the opportunity to share my commitment to make a difference in the lives of animals with my visionary board members and each and every individual I've listed here. You are all heroes and partners in our lifesaving mission and I am honored to grow the FKSPCA with you. Tammy Fox, Executive Director Upcoming Events:

All these seniors at our shelters are looking for their new family!
"Whiskers" A sweet senior still needs a home! She was found as a stray on Duval St. 3 years ago. No owner claimed her. She has been patiently waiting for a family of her own, and thinks the time is NOW! She is extremely affectionate, loves attention and will meow when she
wants some belly rubs. Diabetic, Whiskers is a specialneeds cat that requires insulin shots twice daily and has specific food to eat, but she is worth the extra effort. She is playful, cuddly and could be friends with another cat. If you truly want to save a life, November is Adopt-a-Senior-Pet Month, so stop by the Key West campus to meet this lovely girl today! Meet "Mayzee" Mayzee is a young 9-month old mixed breed, and from her energy and behaviors we're sure there's some cattle dog in there somewhere! Given her age and shelter life, Mayzee is cooped up and bored! She needs someone that will run with her everyday, or provide a big yard to play and play! She's shown some behaviors we're working on, such as being a bit "mouthy" when playing, a behavior that will subside when she's being properly loved, trained and of course - exercised! In addition, thanks to our generous sponsor, BTA Big Dogs Foster Home, ALL Mazyee's adoptions fees are WAIVED! If you're looking for a dog that can keep up with your active lifestyle, please meet Mayzee at our Marathon Campus! MORE FKSPCA ANIMALS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION In Other News:
