MEASUREMENT of borderline-sized terriers will be performed by the Conformation Judge or their designee in the Conformation Ring prior to the start of Conformation classes. Measurements made at this time will be considered the terriers official height for the duration of the trial. RACING MEASUREMENTS: Measurement of borderline-sized terriers or disputed terriers will be performed by a sanctioned Judge at the racetrack between 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM. Measurements made at this time will be considered the terriers official height for the duration of racing. CERTIFICATES: PLEASE NOTE: Include copies of the necessary Certificates with your pre-entries for the Working Division, GTG, Super Earth, or Agility. The entry Secretary makes no assumptions. If the appropriate Certificate is not included you will be entered in the open class NOT the Certificate class. It is the intent of club members to provide a trial that is enjoyable for all participants. As a result, UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT WILL NOT BE TOLERATED at any time during the trial. Anyone demonstrating poor sportsmanship, rude behavior, or causing trouble in any manner will be dismissed from all classes and asked to leave the trial grounds. No refunds in this situation. Entry in Pre-Novice Puppy class does not affect the puppy's eligibility to enter the Novice Class after months of age. (One minute to reach quarry; may leave earth and re-enter until quarry is reached; mark quarry for 15 seconds without a break in work and without leaving the quarry.) Novice Puppy Open to Jack Russells 6 up to 12 months which have not scored 100% in this class at a previous JRTCA trial. Entries earning a score of 100% at this trial may, upon payment of the entry fee, enter the Open Puppy Class at this trial. One minute to reach quarry; may leave earth and re-enter several times until quarry is reached; when quarry is reached must work quarry continuously for a full 30 seconds without a break in work and without leaving the quarry: may switch from one type of work to another. Examples: baying to concentrated stare or digging to baying.) Open Puppy Open to Jack Russells 6 up to 12 months which have scored 100% in a Novice Go-To- Ground class at this or a previous JRTCA trial. Not open to any puppies, which have previously achieved 100% in this class. Puppies earning a score of 100% at this trial may, upon payment of the entry fee, enter the Puppy Champion ship GTG class at this trial. (30 seconds to reach quarry; may leave earth once and re-enter before quarry is reached; must work quarry continuously for one full minute without a break in work and without leaving quarry; may switch from one type of work to another.) 10

First and second place winners will be Puppy Go-To-Ground Champion and Reserve. (30 seconds to reach quarry; may leave earth once and re-enter before the quarry is reached; when quarry is reached must work for one full minute without a break in work and without leaving quarry; may switch from one type of work to another.) Novice Adult Open to JRT s 1 year or older who have not scored 100% in this class at a previous JRTCA trial. Entries who earn a score of 100% at this trial may, upon payment of entry fee, enter the Open Adult class at this trial. Those that are intact may enter the Miscellaneous classes and may cross-enter into regular Conformation classes. Judged on breed standard unless otherwise noted. All classes are sanctioned. Class 99: Class 100: Class 101: Spayed/Neutered Working Terrier. Open to any adult spayed/neutered Jack Russell Terrier which holds a JRTCA Natural Hunting Certificate. Spayed/Neutered Terrier. Open to any adult Spayed/Neutered JRT. Pairs Class. Open to any two adult JRT s. Judged on conformation and matching appearance. Terriers do not have to be owned by the same person, but may have only one handler in the ring per pair. Section 8: Suitability ~ Judge s Choice Open to any adult JRT, including those which have been spayed/neutered. The dog the Judge would choose to take hunting to each of the quarry listed below. Class 102: Class 103: Class 104: Class 105: Suitability to Red Fox. Suitability to Groundhog. Suitability to Raccoon/Badger. Toolbox Class. Open to a handler with three adult Jack Russell Terriers at side, one suitable to each quarry (fox, groundhog, raccoon/badger). Placement based on the group the Judge would choose to take hunting. DIVISION E ~ YOUTH The Child/Youth Handler must handle the SAME terrier in all Child/Youth Division classes entered. The intention of this division is for the Child/Youth to have a positive experience. They should have basic knowledge of the history of the Jack Russell Terrier, as well as the events that they are entering. Neither Child/Youth nor terrier is expected to be perfect. A good attitude and a smile will go a long way towards impressing the Judges and Youth Coordinator. Terriers entered in the Child/ Youth Division (Division E) and GTG Division (B) must run in GTG (Division B) first both days. Fees for Child/Youth classes are $10 per day for both classes. Child classes open to members aged 5 through 9. Youth classes are open to members 10 through 16. The Child/Youth s age is determined by their age as of January 1 of current calendar year. Handlers must compete in both the Handling class and GTG in order to qualify for the Child/Youth Handler High Score and Reserve. Child/Youth High Score and Reserve is being offered on Saturday & Sunday. If the Child/Youth handler is interested in competing for the High Score award, they must enter in the minimum required classes offered in their division for BOTH Saturday and Sunday. A tie will be broken by a handling class to be held in the Conformation ring, with the Judge to be decided by the Trial Administrator. 15

Class 106: Child Handler. Open to any youth aged 5 through 9, handling a Jack Russell Terrier, six months of age or older. This class is offered as an introductory experience in handling and learning about the Jack Russell Terrier. Judged on child s ability to present his/her dog and beginning knowledge of the Jack Russell. Quality of the dog NOT to be considered. Class 107: Child Handler, Go-To-Ground. Open to any child aged 5 though 9 handling a Jack Russell Terrier. Judged on the ability of the child to present his/her dog and knowledge of Go- To-Ground. To be run through the 10-foot Novice tunnel; time not to be considered. (Non- Sanctioned). Class 108: Child Handler, High Score & Reserve. Awarded to the highest scoring child and runner up in Classes 106 & 107. BARN HUNT ~ $5.00 Per Run The purpose of Barn Hunt is to demonstrate a dog s vermin hunting ability in finding and marking rats in an above ground barn-like setting, using a straw/hay bale maze to introduce climbing and tunneling obstacles in the dog s path. Rats in aerated tubes are hidden in the maze for the dog to fine, and some tubes will be empty or only contain litter. Barn Hunt is for ANY breed or mix of dog who loves to hunt and who can fit through an 18 wide gap between two hay bales. It will test speed, agility, and surefootedness. While not specifically targeted at larger dogs or dogs without a vermin hunting history, Barn Hunt is all inclusive and fun for a any dog and human who wishes to play the game. 16
