Scholarships are awarded annually to welldeserving high school seniors or college freshman. Nonie loved and cherished the spirit of our youth. She was a big supporter of education, strongly advocating its value for our children. Help us keep her legacy alive by supporting the foundation. Any trial proceeds, personal, or corporate donations are gladly accepted and appreciated. Since June of 2001, The Foundation has awarded $23,000 to the Fund s recipients. This was all possible because so many of you were so generous over the years. We want to thank you for your continued support. Our goal each year is to be able to award $7,000-$10,000. Please help us meet our goal. In an effort to reach our goal, starting in 2005, the Farmstead Terrier Trial became a fundraiser to help replenish The Norah Risley Foundation s account. All proceeds from Sunday s trial, including sponsorships and raffles, will be put into the Fund. Farmstead Terriers will again be donating some of the trophies each year to help reduce the costs of running this trial. Please address all requests for applications, donations, and correspondence to: The Norah Risley Foundation 260 Round Swamp Road Melville, NY 11747 631.692.6881 noniefund@optonline.net Applications for the college fund are available upon request and must be received back by May1st of the year for the scholarship, otherwise it will be held until next year.

NORAH RISLEY Nonie was a tireless supporter of the Jack Russell. She was always a lover of animals and spent a lifetime raising horses, goats, cats, mynah birds, Labradors, and bull terriers, amongst others. But it was the Jack Russell where she found her full expression a tenacious terrier, full of character and willfulness and infinite love, making it hard to tell where Nonie ended and the terriers began. She also found time to raise four children and to be intensely involved in her community, from school boards to helping at-risk teenagers. She had an affinity for the underdog. Changes for the better were bound to be made whenever Nonie turned her attention to a cause. She truly believed that she could make a difference in a child s life, and she always did. In keeping her legacy alive, the Norah Risley Foundation was founded. To honor her memory, partial scholarships are awarded each spring to a deserving high school senior or a college freshman. It s hard to believe that Nonie s been gone from our lives for so many years. It seems like just yesterday that we received word of her passing. Each year this special weekend is dedicated to a wonderful woman whose presence was so strong in so many of our lives. Nonie s presence is felt to this day -- just look over your shoulder when you are in need and she ll be there. Take time this weekend to share a story with a friend. Nonie would be pleased at what we ve all accomplished. We know right now she is smiling down upon us. Have fun and enjoy the weekend!
