ENTRY FEES shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by veterinarian or judge, or barred from competition by action of the Trial Committee. If the trial cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire, an act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, or any other cause beyond the control of the organizing committee, entry fees will not be refunded. REFUNDS will not be given for entries withdrawn after the closing date or in the event a dog and/or handler are absent or are dismissed from competition, regardless of reason for such dismissal. Handlers of DOGS INJURED after the closing date may request a refund (minus $5.00 per day administration fee) if a veterinarian's note is presented to the Trial Secretary prior to the start of judging. BITCHES IN SEASON shall not be eligible to participate. A veterinarian s note needs to accompany the request for a refund after the closing of the trial. Requests must be received prior to the date of trial. A $5.00 service will be charged. ERRORS ON ENTRY BLANKS are the owner s responsibility and no entry fee will be refunded in event of such errors or cancellation of entries after trial has closed. MOVE-UPS must be received by the secretary in writing or e-mail by 6 p.m. on Monday, July 21, 2008. Day to day move-ups will be allowed if submitted to the Trial Secretary by the end of classes on Friday or Saturday. DECLINATIONS OF ENTRIES: The AMERICAN BELGIAN MALINOIS CLUB may decline any entries for cause and may refuse to receive or may remove dogs on account of disease, viciousness or other causes and no one shall have any claim or recourse against the AMERICAN BELGIAN MALINOIS CLUB. JUDGES ARE NOT REQUIRED TO WAIT FOR DOGS. The owner of each dog is solely responsible for having it ready at ringside when it is to be judged. DOGS MAY ARRIVE any time prior to judging. DOGS NOT REQUIRED for further judging will be excused. DOGS PARTICIPATING must be fifteen months of age or older and must have an AKC registration number or have an AKC Indefinite Listing Privilege number. Dogs must be physically sound. Dogs that are blind or deaf shall not be eligible. No dog shall compete if it is taped or bandaged in any way or has anything attached to it for medical purposes. DOGS and CHILDREN AT THE TRIAL SITE must be in the control of their handler or parent. Any exhibitor whose dog or child engages in unsafe or disruptive behavior may, at the discretion of the trial committee, be asked to leave the trial site. Puppies under six months of age are prohibited from the trial site. Pinch collars, citronella collars, electric and dummy electric collars, gentle leaders and similar head halter collars are prohibited on the trial site. THE SAFETY OF THE DOGS is a primary concern of AMERICAN BELGIAN MALINOIS CLUB. By entering this trial exhibitors acknowledge that they are familiar with the rules and regulations of this sport and that their dogs are familiar with and able to perform all obstacles safely. Regular Exhibitors may choose to enter their dog in a higher height division then required by AKC, but not in a height division lower than the AKC mandated height. OWNERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ENTERING THE PROPER HEIGHT DIVISIONS. Preferred All dogs entering the Preferred classes for the first time MUST enter at the NOVICE level in both Pref. Std and Pref. JWW. For dogs measuring 8 4 11 & under at the withers 12 8 14 & under at the withers 16 12 18 & under at the withers 20 16 22 & under at the withers 24 20 Over 22 at the withers 26 Optional JUDGING TIME/COURSE FAMILIARIZATION Judging will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Friday and 8:00 a.m.-saturday/sunday (first dog on line). Handlers in all classes are permitted to walk the course, without a dog. This walk through period will be held prior to each class unless there are sufficient entries to split the walk through by height, which will be at the judge's discretion. The walk through is restricted to handlers entered only in that class (class and height if split). EQUIPMENT FAMILIARIZATION Novice dogs and handlers will not be given a familiarization period. A warm-up area consisting of a regulation agility jump shall be provided for all exhibitors. Exhibitors may not use the warm-up area to relieve their dogs. RIBBONS A dark green qualifying ribbon will be given to each dog with a qualifying score. Flat ribbons will be awarded to the four top qualifiers in each height division in each class as follows: First Place Blue Flat Ribbon Second Place Third Place Fourth Place Red Flat Ribbon Yellow Flat Ribbon White Flat Ribbon A qualifying score is required for ALL prizes. Dog means either sex. New Title ribbons will be available. Special MACH & PAX rosettes will be awarded to any dog earning a MACH or PAX title. TRIAL SITE RULES NO EX-PENS may be used in the building. NO EXCEPTIONS! Handlers who do not clean up after their dogs will be excused from the trial without a refund. All dogs crated inside the building must be crated in the designated area. Please conserve space when crating to allow all competitors room to crate their dogs. All dogs must be on leash inside and outside the building. Please be prepared to stack crates on provided shelves. No setup before 12:30 p.m. on Friday. No exceptions. CATALOGS A limited number of catalogs will be available at the trial site. MOVE-UPS Dogs may be moved-up to a higher class at the request of the owner, as a result of qualifying for an agility title, provided the request is made in writing or by e-mail to the Trial Secretary by 6 p.m. on Monday, July 21, 2008.
