RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. Entries due on Oct 1, 2018. 2. Mail in pages 1 and 2 of this packet with your entry fees. 3. fees: $5. Each entry must have their own cages. 4. Awards a. Birds will be judged on the Modified Danish System. Blue, Red and White ribbons will be awarded to recognized purebred breeds and/or varieties, except for ages 5-7 which will receive a green ribbon. Red or White ribbons will be awarded to unrecognized breeds and/or varieties, except for ages 5-7, which will receive a green ribbon. Ribbons for mixed breed entries are at the discretion of the official judge, except for ages 5-7, which will receive a green ribbon. b. An Overall Grand and Reserve Grand Champion Poultry will be selected, based on overall qualities determined by the judge according to American Poultry Association and American Bantam Association Standards of Perfection. c. Rosettes will be given to overall champions in Large Fowl, Bantam, Duck and Commercial Divisions. i. Large Fowl Classes 1. American, Asiatic, Continental, English, Mediterranean, AOSB (All Other Standard Breeds). ii. Bantam Classes 1. All poultry entries must be owned by the exhibitor 60 days prior to fair entry. Entries will be limited to six (6) fancy exhibition chickens (large fowl and/or bantam), four (2) commercial egg production hens, and two (2) exhibition ducks. 8. A FFA Advisor, 4-H Agent and 4-H Leader signature is required on each form verifying ownership of poultry and affiliation to 4-H and FFA. Those not affiliated with 4-H or FFA must have signatures of parents verifying residency. 9. Enter only fancy or best producing poultry by the division listed and age, cockerel, pullet, cock or hen. No guineas, quail, turkeys, peafowl, swans, geese, pigeons, pheasants, ostrich, emus, rheas or other exotic poultry or waterfowl may be entered. a. FANCY EXHIBITION CHICKEN DIVISION: i. Six (6) Pure Bred Large Fowl and/or Bantam Chickens recognized in the Standard of Perfection may be shown. Refer to RULE 20. i. Two (2) Pure Bred Ducks recognized in the Standard of Perfection may be shown. Refer to RULE 20. c. COMMERCIAL EGG PRODUCTION HEN DIVISION: i. Two (2) Production Large Fowl hens of the following breeds may be entered, White Leghorns, Rhode Island Reds, Red Sex Links, Black Sex Links and all Plymouth Rock Breeds. 10. At check-in EACH EXHIBITOR MUST BE PRESENT WITH THEIR POULTRY, Signed IAFE National Code of Show Ring Ethics (General rules) AND HAVE THEIR POULTRY COOPED PARENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO CHECK IN FOR EXHIBITORS. See Fair schedule for check-in time. 11. All chickens going to public exhibition shall originate from pullorum-typhoid clean flocks or hatcheries or have necessary pullorum-typhoid test within 90 days prior to exhibition. On the day of entry, a State Veterinarian or USDA representative will examine the general health of the birds. All birds not on the NPIP program will be bled to check for Pullorum-Typhoid and throats swabbed for Avian Influenza and Exotic Newcastle. 12. If you participate in the NPIP (National Poultry Improvement Plan) write your card number on your entry form in the space provided. Upon arrival at the fair notify USDA representatives prior to bleeding and show them your card. 13. The Poultry Show Chair may decline any entries he/she feels should not be shown. Birds will not be accepted if they appear unhealthy or infested with internal or external parasites. 14. Early removal of exhibits shall result in loss of ribbons and future showing privileges. 15. No exhibitor birds may be offered for sale on the Fairgrounds. 16. The Fair Association will not be responsible for any loss. 17. There will be NO medicating of birds. If illness appears during the Fair, the birds must be removed from the barn. 18. The Fair Association will not furnish exhibition coops. 19. Failure to abide by these rules will result in the loss of ribbons and future showing privileges. 20.
