Breakfast/Lunch Breakfast items are provided for all the exhibitors and lunches are provided only for the workers. There are fast food restaurants outside of the park. Move-Ups Pre-Show move up: Dogs may be moved up to a higher class at the request of the owner, as a result of qualifying for an agility title, provided that a written request is made to the Trial Secretary no later than 6 pm on Monday, March 3, 2014. Day to day move up: Day to day move ups will be allowed provided the Trial Secretary receives the signed form within 15 minutes after the last class of the day. It is permissible for an exhibitor to request a day-to-day move-up in person for the following day on a trial day of which he/she did not show their dog. The exhibitor may have someone else on-site fill out/sign the form as their representative. Phone or e-mail move-ups will not be accepted for day to day move-ups. Exception: A dog which has been entered in Novice A class for which it is not eligible to be entered in due to class restrictions on the dog or the handler may be moved to the Novice B class under the following conditions: The request for the move must be in writing and presented to the superintendent or trial secretary at least 30 minutes prior to the start of each trial. The request must state the reason and justification for the move from a Novice A class to a Novice B class. Dogs Moved to Lower Class Effective January 1, 2014: If notification has been received in writing from the American Kennel Club after the close of entries that the dog is not eligible for the class(es) entered, the dog may be moved to the correct class(es). The request for the move to the class(es) for which the dog is eligible must be in writing, accompanied by the letter from the AKC and submitted to the Trial Secretary at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the trial. Exhibitor Information Prizes and Awards Ribbons will be awarded to the 1 st through 4 th place dog in each jump height in each class. Qualifying ribbons will be awarded to all qualifiers. Awards will not be available until the judges have reviewed the appropriate scribe sheets. Course Familiarization and Warm-Ups Handlers in all classes are permitted to walk the course, without a dog, prior to the start of each class. A warm-up area, consisting of a regulation agility jump, shall be provided for all exhibitors. There will be no contact obstacle familiarization for Novice. Eligibility This trial is open to all dogs over the age of fifteen(15) months or older that are registered with the American Kennel Club or that have AKC Limited Registration, Purebred Alternative Listing/Indefinite Listing Privileges (PAL/ILP) or an AKC Canine Partners listing number, or approved Foundation Stock Service (FSS) breeds. Bitches in season, aggressive, blind or deaf dogs or dogs suffering from any deformity, injury or illness which may affect the dog s physical or mental performance are ineligible to participate. Class Information Descriptions and entry requirements are listed in Ch. 2 and Ch. 8 of the AKC Regulations for Agility Trials amended 09/01/06.
Height Divisions Height divisions for each class are listed in Ch. 2, sec.3 and Ch. 8, sec. 6 of the AKC Regulations for Agility Trials amended 9/1/06. Preferred Regular Dog s Height 4 inches 8 Inches For dogs 11 inches & under 8 Inches 12 Inches For dogs 14 inches & under 12 Inches 16 Inches For dogs 18 inches & under 16 Inches 20 Inches For dogs 22 inches & under 20 Inches 24 Inches For dogs over 22 inches 26 inches Dogs may be entered at this height at owner s discretion. (Dog s measurement at withers.) Height Cards All information and rules for height cards can be found in AKC Regulations for Agility Trials, Chapter 2, Sec. 4. When filling out the entry form, there is a new section at the top of the form for exhibitors to designate whether your dog has a valid jump height card or if the dog needs to be measured. Please check the appropriate box so that the Trial Secretary knows whether to include your dog on the Dogs To Be Measured List. It is no longer required that you submit a copy of your dog s jump height card with your entry form or show it during day of show check-in. Preferred Class Any dog (at least 15 months old see Eligibility requirements above) may enter Preferred Classes. A dog entered in Preferred will jump 4 lower than its regular jump height and have 5 seconds in time added to the regular Standard Course Time. All dogs entering the Preferred Classes for the first time MUST enter the Novice level regardless of their previous title level in the Regular classes. Dogs in the Preferred Class must jump their Preferred jump height. They may not jump higher. Dogs cannot be entered in Regular and Preferred Classes on the same weekend. Dogs may switch back and forth between Regular and Preferred but not at the same trial. It is expressly understood that exhibitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dogs and/or children. Any exhibitor whose dogs and/or children create unnecessary disturbances or repeatedly engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior may, at the discretion of the Trial Committee, be asked to leave the trial site. In such case, no refund of any fees paid will be made. DACC may decline any entries for cause and may refuse to receive, or may remove, any dog on account of disease, viciousness or other causes and no one shall have any claim or recourse against the DACC or any official thereof. Entries by fax or email will not be accepted. Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. The Trial Secretary will add a collection fee of $25 to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks for the same exhibitor may result in their being put on a cash only basis. The returned check must be made good by cash or money order before the dog will be allowed into the ring. This trial will be conducted under the American Kennel Club Regulations for Agility Trials. Exhibitors are responsible for being at the ring gate when it is their turn to run. It is the exhibitor s responsibility to inform the gate stewards of possible conflicts before their turn. Exhibitors with potential conflicts must inform the gate stewards before their classes start; affected dogs must run FIRST in their jump heights. Except in extraordinary circumstances, there will be no additional walk-throughs or resetting of jump heights after the height has finished judging. This test will be held outdoors on grass. The rings will be 100 x 100. No dogs allowed in the restrooms. Please pick up after your dogs. All dogs must be on leash at all times, except when in the ring or when in designated warm-up areas.
Wait List for Limited Entry Trials In the event that entries exceed the maximum limit of runs allowed, a Wait List will be created to fill openings created by withdrawn entries after closing. Maximum of 25 entries will be placed on the wait list. All entries including wait listed entries must be received by the Trial Secretary by the closing date. Any entries withdrawn prior to 6:00 pm on the Sunday before the trial will be replaced by a wait list entry and a full refund will be given to withdrawn entries when wait listed entries are available to replace the pulled entry. Any wait list entry that does not move off the wait list into the trial by 6:00 pm on the Sunday before the trial will have their checks shredded. Refunds Full entry fees will be refunded if an entry is pulled before the closing date/time. Entry fees will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused or barred from competition by action of the Trial Committee. DACC is under no obligation to offer refunds for duplicate entries for the same dog. Bitches in season are not permitted to compete in Agility Trials. Bitches in season are not allowed on show grounds. As such the club will issue a full refund minus a $10 process fee for bitches unable to compete for this reason if the Trial Secretary receives written notice of the withdrawal by 6:00 pm PST, Friday May 9, 2014. Refunds apply to the affected bitch only, not for all dogs entered by the bitch's owner and/or traveling companions. No entry fee will be refunded if the trial cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbance, fire, an act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, or any other cause beyond the control of the organizing committee.
