ATTENTION ALL VISITORS This is the first year that dog events are being held at the state-of-the-art Owings Mills Sports Arena. As with every show site, it is imperative that exhibitors leave the site in the same condition as when you arrived. We emphasize: Exhibitors are responsible for cleaning up after their dog(s). Any exhibitor failing to do so may be excused without benefit of refund if the Show Committee deems the exhibitor to be in violation of this requirement. This facility is a rare gem, and it is the intent of the SSCGB to be able to offer this as a site for future shows. Your cooperation is thus required. Thank you, and clean runs to all. DOGS ELIGIBLE TO ENTER This trial is open to all dogs over the age of 12 months that are registered with the American Kennel Club or are registerable breeds that have obtained AKC ILP number, except bitches in season, aggressive dogs, or dogs suffering from any deformity, injury, or illness which may affect the dog s physical or mental performance. Mixed breeds and breeds not registerable with the AKC are not eligible to enter. Refer to Chapter 2 of the Registration and Discipline Rules for the listing of registerable breeds that may participate. OBSTACLES AND RING CONDITIONS The following mandatory obstacles and jumps shall be used for all classes: A-Frame (9 sides) Dog Walk (12 planks) See Saw Pause Table Open (Pipe) Tunnel Closed (Collapsed) Tunnel Tire Jump Double Oxer Panel Jump Broad Jump (AKC Obedience style) Other Jumps and Hurdles as described in the regulations In addition, the Triple Jump and Weave Poles will be used where regulations permit or require. Obstacles shall meet the specifications for obstacles in the current edition of Regulations for Agility Trials. All classes will take place indoors, on a field turf surface. Ring size will be 8,000 sq. feet or greater. COURSE FAMILIARIZATION AND WARM-UPS Handlers in all classes are permitted to walk the course, without a dog, prior to the start of the class. The walk-through allows handlers to plan their strategy for running the course. A walk-through period will be held prior to each class, following the judge s briefing. The walk-though is restricted to handlers entered only in that class. No equipment familiarization will be offered at this event. A warm-up area, consisting of a regulation agility jump, shall be provided for all exhibitors. Exhibitors may not use the warm-up area to relieve their dogs. NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS MAKE YOUR ENTRIES LEGIBLE ILLEGIBLE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE PROCESSED AND WILL BE RETURNED TO THE EXHIBITOR The safety of the dogs is our primary concern. By entering this trial, exhibitors acknowledge that they are familiar with the rules and regulations of this sport, and that their dogs are familiar with and able to perform all obstacles safely. Puppies under 6 months are strictly prohibited from the grounds, and will be excused from the crating area. Entry fees will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused, or barred from competition by the action of the Show Committee. No entry fee will be refunded if the trial cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire, an act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, or any other cause beyond the control of the organizing committee. Since bitches in season are not permitted to compete in Agility Trials, the Club will refund all but five dollars (per day) of the entry fee for bitches unable to compete for that reason. The Trial Secretary must be notified of such claim for refund at the show prior to the start of classes or by letter postmarked July 22, 2000 or earlier. It is expressly understood that exhibitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dog and/or children. Any exhibitor whose dogs and/or children create unnecessary disturbances or repeatedly engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior may, at the discretion of the Show committee, be asked to leave the show site. In such case, no refund of any fees paid will be made. Exhibitors are responsible for cleaning up after their dog(s). Any exhibitor failing to do so may be excused without benefit of refund if the Show Committee deems the exhibitor to be in violation of this requirement. Cleaning supplies and disposal sites will be available at various locations around the show grounds. All dogs must be on a leash at all times except when in the ring or when in the designated agility warm-up area. Exhibitors are responsible for being at the ring gate when it is their turn to run. Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. The Trial Secretary will add a $25.00 collection fee to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks from the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY basis. Good food (hot breakfast and lunch) will be available on site both days. Dogs may not be left overnight. The Shetland Sheepdog Club of Greater Baltimore will not be responsible for any lost or damaged items left at the show site. No overnight parking at the show site. No electrical hook-ups for motor homes or campers are available. There will be limited space available for motor home parking the day of the show. Cloth or tarps must be placed underneath crates. NO CLEATED SHOES of any kind will be permitted on the field turf surface. Catalogs may be prepaid with your entry (see checkbox on entry form). A very limited number of catalogs will be available for sale on the show date.

Choke collars, pinch collars, electric and dummy electric collars are prohibited. Exhibitors may wear shirts or insignia of their training group if they wish.
