ELIGIBILITY FOR CLASSES In the following definitions of classes, first prizes or other prize wins are those gained in standard classes at any Kennel Club licensed championship, premier, open or limited agility shows (special classes and invitation events excepted). Only a first place with a clear round (completed within the course time set by the judge) count towards progression. Standard classes are scheduled as agility classes or jumping classes. All standard classes will include the weaving poles obstacle. In addition standard agility classes will have the A-frame, dog walk and see-saw. With these provisos classes are defined as follows. Class Structure. A class may either be held as a graded class or a combined class. A graded class may be scheduled for one or more consecutive grades with separate results and awards issued for each grade. A combined class may be scheduled for more than one consecutive grade with one overall set of results Progression. Progression from each Grade will require one Agility win or 3 Jumping wins at that grade, at either Full Height (FH) or the Lower Height Option (LHO), except that progression from Grade 5 will require 3 wins at Grade 5, one of which must be an agility class. Progression from Grade 6 will require 4 wins at Grade 6, two of which must be in agility classes. Results from Combined Classes will only count towards progression from the dog's current grade to the next grade. Lower Height Option. Societies may offer the Lower Height Option to all dogs in that height category and may be offered at all grades. It is to be run as part of any Standard class as defined in the regulations and must be clearly identified in the schedule. Each relevant class will have two heights with a change part way through to raise/lower the jump heights and competitors must run at their entered height. The order in which the heights will run must be detailed on the ring cards/ring plan. There will be only one course walking at the start of the class. In a class where the Lower Height Option is available show organisers may offer one set of awards by combining the results of each height or may offer separate awards for each height category. Competitors will be allowed to walk the course set at Small, Medium or Large height without their dog(s) before the class begins. Hurdles may be raised/lowered during the course walking time if multiple heights are offered within the same class. When the Lower Height Option is scheduled a dog may only be entered at either the Full Height or the Lower Height and it cannot compete at a different height in any other class at that competition, including special classes. For these purposes a competition shall be defined as all classes covered within the same schedule. Points Progression. At a handler s discretion a dog may progress up to Grade 4 by winning 100 points at each grade, using the Agility Warrant points scheme (Regulation K3.c refers), except that there is no requirement for a minimum number of agility points. If this method of progression is selected, the handler must ensure that the Show Secretary signs the dog s agility record book at the first show entered at the higher grade. There is no time limit on this progression, however once a dog has progressed, it cannot return to a previous grade. Progression on points must be done prior to the closing date for entries. It is not possible to change on points once the entries have closed.

STANDARD CLASSES Only first prizes and points gained in standard classes at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows may be used for progression through the grades. (A dog is only eligible for one grade). In defining the eligibility of the owner or handler for Grade 1, the three jumping wins and points progression referred to in the definition apply only to one dog and not an accumulation of dogs. Grade 1 For owners, handlers or dogs which have not gained a first place in an agility class or three first places in jumping classes at Kennel Club licensed agility shows. N.B. Owners, handlers or dogs previously qualified out of Grade 1 (or elementary) are not eligible for this class. Grade 2 Open to dogs which are not eligible for Grades 1,3,4,5,6and 7 and have not gained a first place in an agility class or three first places in jumping classes at Grade 2 at Kennel Club licensed agility shows, or elected to progress on points from Grade 1. N.B. Owners, handlers or dogs previously qualified out of Grade 2 are not eligible for this class. Grade 3 Open to dogs which are not eligible for Grades 1 or 2 or have elected to progress on points from Grade 2 at Kennel Club licensed agility shows & dogs which are not eligible for Grades 4, 5, 6 or 7. Grade 4 Open to dogs which have gained a first place in an agility class or three first places in jumping classes at Grade 3 or elected to progress on points from Grade 3 at Kennel Club licensed agility shows and are not eligible for Grades 3, 5, 6 or 7. Grade 5 Open to dogs which have gained a first place in an agility class or three first places in jumping classes at Grade 4 at Kennel Club licensed agility shows and are not eligible for Grades 3, 4, 6 or 7. Grade 6 Open to dogs which have gained a minimum of 3 first places at Grade 5 at Kennel Club licensed agility shows, one of which must have been gained in an agility (not jumping) class and are not eligible for Grades 3, 4, 5 or 7. Grade 7 Open to dogs which have gained a minimum of four first places at Grade 6 at Kennel Club licensed agility shows. At least two of these first places must be agility. RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. Dogs entered at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows must be registered at the Kennel Club in accordance with Kennel Club Regulations for Classification and Registration B, or else registration or transfer of registration must have been applied for. The registration number/authority to compete (ATC) number will be required for each entry. 2. All dogs registered and resident outside the UK must be issued with a Kennel Club Authority to Compete (ATC) number before entry to the show/event can be made. All overseas entries without a Kennel Club registration number or an ATC number will be returned to the exhibitor/competitor. 3. The entry fee is 2.50 per dog per class. 4. There is no prize money. 5. Internet entries will be accepted via www.agilityshows.online

Should a judge be unable to fulfil the appointment to judge the Committee reserves the right to appoint another judge. 15. No competitor shall impugn the decision of the judge or judges. 16. Kennel Club Standard Marking Regulations apply to all standard classes. 17. The height limit for dogs is:- Large Dog classes for dogs measuring over 430mm (1ft. 5ins) at the withers; Medium Dog classes for dogs measuring over 350mm (1ft. 1.75ins) and 430mm (1ft. 5ins) or under at the withers; Small Dog classes for dogs measuring 350mm(1ft. 1.75ins) or under at the withers. 18. Judges at an agility show may not enter a dog which is recorded in their ownership, or part ownership, or handle a dog at the show at which they are judging. Dogs may be disqualified if proved to have been handled in the class by the scheduled judge s spouse or immediate family, or any resident at the same address. 19. Removal of dogs from competition. Following discussion between the show management and/or a veterinary surgeon, a dog shall be prevented from competing and/or removed from the a show if it is: a bitch in season; suffering from any infectious or contagious diseases; interfering with the safety or chance of winning of an opponent: of such a temperament or is so much out of control as to be a danger to the safety of any person or other animal; or likely to cause suffering to the dog if it continues competing. The circumstances of such a removal shall be recorded in the competition/show Incident Book and submitted to the Kennel Club. 20. Dog Agility is a competitive and physically strenuous activity. It is the responsibility of the owner/handler to ensure their dog is fit for function and that they themselves are fit to take part. By signing the entry form you confirm that to the best of your knowledge your dog is fit and able to take part in agility classes on the day of the show. 21. In estimating the number of awards won, all wins up to and including the 25th day before the start of the competition, i.e. 10 July 2018 shall be counted when entering for any class. For these

purposes a competition shall be defined as all classes covered within the same schedule. In the event that a dog becomes eligible for the next grade at a particular show after the entry for that show has been sent, it is the competitor s responsibility to notify the show secretary at least 14 days before the date of the show. The dog will then be moved into the appropriate class(es) for the next grade. The dog will be moved into the corresponding number of classes as were entered at the lower grade. If there are fewer or no classes available for the next grade, the competitor should be offered a refund of the relevant entry fees. 22. Should circumstances dictate, the Club, in consultation with the judges, may alter the arrangements as necessary. Such changes and the circumstances surrounding them will be reported to the Kennel Club. 23. In the event that the show is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, The Patch will refund fees, less reasonably incurred expenses. If we have the provisions to do so, competitors will be refunded in the manner in which they paid their entry fees, but in any event we will refund fees within 3 months of the show date to all who have entered and requested a refund within one month of the show date. 24. Except for mobility aids, nothing shall be carried in the hand while the dog is under test and food shall not be given to a dog whilst in the ring. Competitors are prohibited from wearing bags or leads whilst under test. 25. Should the judge deem a re-run is required, any result and /or faults gained in the previous run must be discounted. 26. Separate entry forms must be completed by each owner and must be signed by the owner, or an authorised agent, in accordance with the provision specified thereon. Entry forms must be accompanied by the appropriate fees. 27. Competition of dogs suffering from contagious or infectious disease -- No dogs suffering from an infectious or contagious disease, or having been exposed to such disease during the period of 21 days prior to the competition, may compete. Competitors infringing this regulation will be liable to be fined and/or dealt with under KC Rule A11. 28. It is the competitors responsibility to be available for their classes and running order. Competitors must run as close to their running order as possible. Failure to do so may be reported to the Kennel Club. In championship classes competitors must run in the exact order specified in the regulations. 29. No animal, other than those officially entered, shall be brought into the precincts of the event during its continuance, except dogs registered to assist the disabled, dogs required for educational or instructional purposes, and those admitted by permission of the Board. However, at the discretion of the show society, a dog brought to the show by a spectator may be admitted into the precincts of the show, provided that those in charge of the dog sign a declaration confirming that the dog is free from disease and that the dog will be kept under proper control at all times. 30. If choosing to download your ring cards you are agreeing to your running orders for this show being available to the public on the ASO web site. Children under the age of 11 are the responsibility of and must be accompanied at all times by a parent or guardian including when competing.

Welfare of Dogs An exhibitor (or competitor) whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not knowingly put their dogs health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. A breach of this Regulation may be referred to the Board for disciplinary action under Kennel Club Rules and Regulations. The use of pinch collars, electronic shock collars, or prong collars, is not permitted at any Agility show licensed by the Kennel Club. This shall apply at the venue and within the precincts of the show. Dogs in Vehicles on Hot Days Your dog is vulnerable and at risk during hot weather. The Kennel Club offers the following guidance to help guide you through the do s and don ts travelling to, and whilst at, KC licensed events. When travelling to a show please take a moment to consider whether the route to the show is on a busy holiday route and leave earlier to avoid increased time in traffic jams. If your vehicle is not air-conditioned seriously consider whether travelling to the show is a good idea at all. The vehicle should be as fully ventilated as possible, and plenty of stops should be taken, with lots of water available to drink. Ensure your dog is not sitting in full sunlight. There should be plenty of free flowing air around the dog. When at the show, never leave your dog in an enclosed vehicle. Keep the dog in the shade take your own shade. For example a large umbrella and sheets, and always have plenty of water available to drink so your dog stays well hydrated. Avoid your dog taking part in unnecessary exertion, or from standing in exposed sunlight for extended lengths of time. Remember, if you feel hot your dog is very likely to feel much hotter and dehydrated, and this could lead to dire results. Please look after your dog s welfare. WARNING: IF YOUR DOG IS FOUND TO BE AT RISK, FORCIBLE ENTRY TO YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE NECESSARY WITHOUT LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED
