BREEDING EWES - 2909 Auctioneer - Robert Meadmore/Greg Christopher A much more difficult day generally, with not as good a show of sheep and possibly too many forward. However several high spots throughout the day with a section of pedigree Texel yearling ewes making up to 210 and again at 200 and 172. In the commercial Texel yearling section a super pen made 144 and again at 137 and then in the 120 s, a nice pen of 2 year olds to 140, plenty of decent pens of Texel yearlings between 100 to 120. The best of the Suffolk yearlings to 138 and again some in the 110 s to 120 s. Good enquiry for flock age Suffolks with 2 year olds to 128, again at 116 and full mouth to 85. An abundance of Welsh Mule yearlings on offer, generally from 90 to 115. Two year old Mules to 113, others in the 90 s. Several pens of Cheviot yearlings forward - best over 100 to 110, several sold around 100. Older Kerry ewes to 48, Herdwick 2 year olds to 55, Cheviot Mule yearlings to 125, two year old s to 115, 4 year old Welsh ewes to 54. All good things come to an end, and we have had some tremendous weeks at Hereford just lately, so we look forward to next week. BREEDING RAMS - 241 Auctioneer - Richard Hyde Clifford Bufton judged the 3 classes very well and some excellent prices resulted up to 900gns. Size, quality and confirmation wanted. CULL EWES - 2076 Auctioneer - Matthew Nicholls A strong entry once again with a trade certainly sharper than last week. Whilst the average is less than last week this is by no means any reflection of the trade. Very few best ewes about, a large entry of smaller plainer ewes forward but even those were sharper than last week. Best ewes to 115/head. Rams to 126/head. Several grazing jobs on the go putting a bottom in the trade. Numbers coming forward around the Country are steadying which is helping firming the trade. Average 49.53/head Continental 115 Suffolks 95 North Country Mules 85 Welsh Mules 77 Speckles 54 Welsh 58 Cull Rams 126 Cull Wethers 75 Cull ewe eartags - All cull ewes and rams must have FULL EID TAGS to be sold in Hereford Market ************************************************************************************* FOR SALE PRIVATELY 30 Friesian cross bull calves 2 to 4 weeks on one farm.
