Consultations are also available for ophthalmology, oncology, and dermatology. EQUINE SURGERY Auburn University has three board-certified specialists in equine surgery. We offer outpatient services in lameness diagnosis and treatment, prepurchase examinations, and performance evaluation. We run a 24-hour emergency surgery service in which the primary cases performed are soft tissue wounds, orthopedic emergencies and colic surgeries; a senior surgeon is always on call. We specialize in laparoscopy, arthroscopy, upper respiratory surgery, abdominal surgery, wound management, and orthopedic surgery. EMERGENCY AND CRITICAL CARE Auburn University has a board-certified diplomates in critical care and one clinician in fellowship in critical care.
