Directions to the grounds: By kind permission of Mr. Carl Bouckaert, this trial will be held at Chattahoochee Hills/Bouckaert Farm, near Fairburn, Georgia, an 8000-acre equestrian eventing estate on the banks of the Chattahoochee River, just 15 miles west of the Atlanta airport. The address of the Farm is 9445 Brown s Lake Rd, Fairburn, GA. Please note: Once you have entered the farm and are on the one-lane farm road leading to the field, please watch for horses and riders, who have the right of way at all times. Please greet all riders graciously, as one of them might be Mr. Bouckaert, our generous host! Attention drivers of RVs and travel trailers: The one-lane farm road leading from the entrance to the farm to the field, a distance of 1.7 miles, is gravel surfaced in some areas and dirt in other areas, and may prove problematic for transit by heavy vehicles if there has been recent rain. Please call the Field Trial Chairman 24 hours before the trial for an advisory on RV access. From I-85 heading North (as from the motels in Newnan): Take Exit 61 (Highway 74 / Fairburn); at the end of the ramp, turn left heading North on Highway 74. When the two-lane highway turns into a single lane, stay straight (do not continue on Highway 74 go straight) for 3 miles until the road dead ends into Rivertown Rd. Turn left on Rivertown Rd and go 3.5 miles to South Fulton Parkway. Cross over South Fulton Parkway, staying on Rivertown Rd for 2 miles, then turn right at the 4-way stop onto Cochran Mill Rd. Go for 3 miles, then turn left at the 4-way stop onto Cedar Grove Rd and go 1/10 of a mile to a right turn onto Brown s Lake Rd. Go 1.3 mile on Brown s Lake Rd to a stop sign. Bear right onto the gravel road, and from here follow field trial signs to the field. From I-75 North & South of Atlanta: Take I-285 West to Exit 62 (Spur 14 / South Fulton Parkway); see below. From I-20 East or West: Take I-285 heading south to Exit 62 (Spur 14 / South Fulton Parkway); see below. The Committee reserves the right to switch to continuous loop lure should ground, weather, or equipment conditions so dictate. The course will be reversed for final courses, reversed again for any runoffs, and reversed again for Best of Breed. The Club reserves the right to alter the course as required by weather and/or field conditions on the day of the trial. All owners must keep their s under control at all times, and must clean up after them. There will be a $5 fine assessed for any loose on the field not taking part in a course in progress. There will be a $15 fine assessed for any owner who does not clean up after his/her hound.

The ASFA National Specialty The tradition continues with the 13th running of the ASFA National Specialty! The Specialty now has its own history as a great day of sport and the finest of lure coursing competition in our breed, and the Southeastern Club is proud to be hosting it again. This year we will return to Bouckaert Farm at Chattahoochee Hills, a beautiful 8000-acre equine estate alongside 12 miles of the Chattahoochee River near Fairburn, Georgia, just south of Atlanta. We extend our thanks to its owner, Mr. Carl Bouckaert, for his kind hospitality in allowing us to run on his land. As before, we are expecting a large and diverse entry, of all registries and from all the constituencies. We have planned a day of great sport and an evening of good fellowship, and we hope you will join us for another memorable Specialty. Trophies and Trophy Donations This beautiful and unique perpetual trophy, The Cup, will be awarded to the Best of Breed winner. Special keeper trophies will be awarded to the 1st place winners in each stake, and prizes will be awarded to all other placements in each stake, in addition to the traditional rosettes. Conformation Competition We will hold an old-fashioned conformation competition, open to all s of all registries, intact or altered, whether or not entered in the lure trial. The competition will be held during the mid-day break between the preliminary and final runs of the lure trial. It will offer three classes: Puppies (up to 18 months), All-Aged (19 months and older) and Seniors (6 years and older). (Entry in All- Aged or Senior is at the option of owners of s 6 years old or older). The entry fee for each is $5. Please see the conformation entry forms in this insert. The confirmation competition will be judged by Mr. Dean Wright, a long-time lure coursing judge currently serving as the President of the American Sighthound Field Association. Dean owned and ran the Treybeau s Fantasy, the #4 lifetime lure coursing. Fun Runs We will offer fun runs for s not entered in the Specialty immediately after the awards ceremony, and owners can choose to let their dogs run a straight or a partial course. The fun run fee is $3, and dogs may be entered throughout the day of the Specialty. A sign-up sheet will be available at the Secretary s table. Commemorative Pins A commemorative lapel pin, bearing the Specialty logo, will be given to each lure trial and conformation competition exhibitor, compliments of SEGC. Lunch Lunch will be provided on the field by the volunteers of Southeastern Adoption, SEGC s adoption program. All proceeds from lunch sales will go to support adoption efforts. Amenities The lure coursing field at Bouckaert Farm is a 50+ acre hayfield of grass turf with river bottom type footing. It is not fenced, but is 1.7 miles into the interior of the property and well away from any roads or traffic. There is no running water or power on the field, but cool down water will be provided if weather conditions make that advisable. There is limited shade on the field, so bring a canopy if sunny warm weather is predicted. Overnight RV and trailer parking on the field is allowed at no charge, but must be self-contained. Sunday s Trial The weekend will conclude with the 22nd running of the Fullerton Cup all breed lure coursing meeting, hosted by SEGC and sanctioned by the National Lure Coursing Club, on Sunday, November 4.
