Not only do we have an indoor facility that is one of the largest full-time dog training facilities in the Southeast, but we now have matting that is the premium flooring for training and trialing with your dog. Why even consider going anywhere else? The New Year is traditionally a time to think about the changes and improvements we want to make in our lives and I can t think of a better New Year s resolution than to promise yourself to spend a little more time training your dog. You have access to one of the best training centers and it is well equipped for a variety of activities. One of the ways you can help keep our training center alive and well is to encourage others to attend our trials and seminars and become a member themselves. So when you visit out of town venues for dog related activities, be sure they know about our progress and the great activities we offer. Get the year off to a good start by keeping active in the club. glad you did. Pat Mozden You ll be

Our members should also do the same. We have been using entirely too many paper towels cleaning up the water.

Page 7 January 2017 Chatter-Barks Mark the Date: January 27-28-29, 2017 The Great OCOD Annual Agility Trial We have wonderful judges, excellent participants, an enthusiastic committee putting together another successful trial. ALL WE NEED NOW IS YOU Many club members have already signed up on our on-line sign-up sheet, committing to interesting jobs like Course Builder, Timer, Scribe, Gate Steward, and leash and score sheet runners. But with several different classes daily, there s still plenty of opportunity for you to fill these jobs plus act as ring crews on Friday. (On Saturday and Sunday we ll have help from local students). You don t need to know anything about agility to help, and you can be taught any of the jobs in just a few minutes. Plus volunteering gives you a ring-side view of the goings-on. To sign up now, just copy the following link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets 1iOCYRZWBgvniarKHzHqP0IOKn4QHWnVJecYkPbZ8Rdg/edit#gid=0 and paste into your browser s search line. You ll be taken to the link and can simply fill in your name. If you have trouble, please contact Renee Morrow (386 426 2734 or renmorrow@cfl.rr.com), Trial Chair Coralee Leon (386 517 1617 or chaircl@earthlink.net ), or Friday s Ring Captain Claire Israelson (386 238 7976 or cisraelson@cfl.rr.com ) In addition, we ll need people to help set up the rings on Thursday, January 26, and to help put things away after the trial is finished on Sunday. Everyone who volunteers will be rewarded: For every class you work, you ll receive a $2 coupon good for food at our food vendor or entry in a future OCOD agility trial, plus a ticket for the worker s raffle in which you can win valuable gift cards and other nice stuff. And Alan Israelson will be overseeing a table of delicious goodies for you. As always, the trial will be held at Silver Sands Equestrian Club, 625 Co Rd 415 (Tomoka Farms Rd), New Smyrna Beach FL 32168. So, whether you come to play or to watch, do come to pitch in and help. Sign up for one class or several. We re counting on you
