The first trial will take place the morning of June 1st, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. The second trial will follow the first trial. RALLY OBEDIENCE CLASSES The following official Rally classes will be offered in both trials: Rally Novice A Advanced A Excellent A Rally Novice B Advanced B Excellent B Rally Intermediate Master The Rally Obedience Trials will take place in the afternoon following the Obedience trials. DIRECTIONS Companion Dog Training 6926 Concession 2 N3C 2V4 Marie (226) 218-4154 From Toronto: Take the 401 West to Hwy 6 North (the second Hwy 6 exit). At the first set of lights turn left (Wellington Rd 34). Follow this road and at the roundabout take County Rd 35 and turn left. You will cross the 401. turn left on to the first road - Concession 2 - there is a sign for Paddock Corners. Turn left into the first driveway. Look for fire signs 2926 or 6924. From London: Take the 401 east to Townline Rd (exit 286). Once you come off the 401, you will come to a set of lights. Turn right at these lights and then left at the next set of lights. You will be on Lake Rd. Follow this road until you come to a stop sign (there will be a small lake on your right). Keep right at the stop sign and the road turns into Concession 2. You will come to another stop sign (county Rd 35). Go straight through the stop sign and turn left into the first driveway. If you come to Sideroad 20, you missed the driveway. From the North: Take the Hanlon Expressway (Hwy6) south to Downey Rd (the YMCA is on the corner). Turn right and follow this road out of Guelph and into the country. Go straight through the roundabout. Cross the 401, turn left at the first road (Concession 2). There is a sign for Paddock Corners. Turn left into the first driveway. The green fire signs are 6926 or 6924. If you come to Sideroad 20, you have missed the driveway. From the South: Take Hwy 6 towards Guelph. This highway goes from 4 lanes to 2. You will go over a railroad bridge. Look for the sign for Leslie road and turn left (if you go into the little town of Morriston, you missed it). Follow this road to Side Road 20 and turn right. Sideroad 20 dead ends at Concession 2. Turn left. We are the 5th or 6th property on the right. Look for fire signs 6926 or 6924. If you come to the stop sign at County Rd 35, you missed it.

BRACE AND VETERANS CLASSES The Brace Class is open to any 2 dogs of any breed that have earned the title of C.D. or higher. Because this is a Specialty Obedience Trial it is necessary that the same person owns both dogs. The owner or any other person may handle dogs in this class. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. The same handler must handle each dog in all 6 exercises unless he has 2 or more dogs entered. In such case, he must have an additional handler for each extra dog when they are judged together in the Group Exercises. The Brace Class is performed and judged in the same manner as the Novice Class. The 2 dogs shall be hitched together with a brace chain or coupling and are judged on the performance of the 2 dogs as though they were one. The Veterans Class shall be for any dog that has earned the title of C.D. or higher and is 7 years old or older on the day of the trial. The exercises shall be performed and judged as in the Novice Classes. Dogs entered in the Veterans Class must also be entered in any Regular class or for Exhibition Only. The owner or any other person may handle dogs in this class. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. The same handler must handle each dog in all 6 exercises unless he has 2 or more dogs entered. In such case, he must have an additional handler for each extra dog when they are judged together in the Group Exercises. JUNIOR HANDLING Purpose The purpose of Junior Obedience competition is to introduce and encourage youth to participate in the sport of obedience. This sport provides juniors with meaningful competition where they learn and hone their skills in an environment of camaraderie and competing with those of similar ages. Classes Classes in Junior Obedience Competition shall be divided as follows: (a) Junior Obedience Pre-Novice This class is for handlers 7 years of age on the date of the competition up to the date of their 11th birthday who have not achieved 500 score points in any Pre-Novice competition. (b) Intermediate Obedience Pre-Novice This class is for handlers 11 years of age on their 15th birthday who have not achieved 500 score points in any Pre-Novice competition. JUNIOR HANDLING CLASSES (CONTINUED) (c) Senior Obedience Pre-Novice This class is for handlers 15 years of age on their 18th birthday who have not achieved 500 score points in any Pre-Novice competition. (d) Junior Obedience Novice This class is for handlers 7 years of age on the date of the competition up to the date of their 11th birthday who have achieved 500 score points in any Pre-Novice competition or for any junior of relevant age who wishes to compete in this class. (e) Intermediate Obedience Novice This class is for handlers 11 years of age on their 15th birthday who have achieved 500 score points in any Pre-Novice competition or for any junior of relevant age who wishes to compete in this class. (f) Senior Obedience Novice This class is for handlers 15 years of age on their 18th birthday who have achieved 500 score points in any Pre-Novice competition or for any junior of relevant age who wishes to compete in this class. (g) Junior Obedience Open This class is for handlers 7 years of age on the date of the competition up to the date of their 11th birthday. (h) Intermediate Obedience Open This class is for handlers 11 years of age on their 15th birthday. (i) Senior Obedience Open This class is for handlers 15 years of age on their 18th birthday. All fees include H.S.T. and are in Canadian Funds. A listing fee is payable for all dogs entered at shows who do not have an individual C.K.C. registration number, P.E.N. or an E.R.N. number. INTERESTED IN JOINING THE LOC? If you re not already a member are you interested in joining our club? We are a group of Labrador Retriever enthusiasts who either own a Labrador or who are interested in the breed. Full Details are available on our Club Website: CATALOGUES Catalogues are available on a PRE-ORDER basis. Those who wish to pre-order at a price of $3.00 may do so by indicating this on their entry form. Your catalogue will be waiting for you at the show. There will be a limited number of catalogues available for sale at the show for a price of $5.00. LIMITED ENTRY No judge will be assigned to judge for more than seven hours in one day, or for more than six hours in one day if judging more than 12 classes. Obedience: 9 Pre-Novice dogs per hour, 8 Novice dogs per hour, 8 Novice Intermediate dogs per hour, 7 Open dogs per hour and 6 Utility dogs per hour which will be considered a reasonable average. Rally: Rally will be judged at the rate of 15 dogs per hour plus walk through time. OBEDIENCE TROPHY LIST Rosettes will be awarded for the top four qualifying scores in each class. The first place dog in each class will also receive a prize and flat ribbons will be awarded for all qualifying scores. Prizes will be awarded for: Highest Qualifying Score in each Trial Highest Qualifying Scoring Veteran Dog in each Trial (7 years of age or over) Highest Qualifying Scoring Conformation Champion with a Working Title (Trial #1) Highest Qualifying Scoring Labrador with a Tracking Title (Trial #2) A rosette will be given to any dog completing their title. RALLY OBEDIENCE TROPHY LIST Rosettes will be awarded for the top four qualifying scores in each class. The first place dog in each class will also receive a prize and flat ribbons will be awarded for all qualifying scores. ATTENTION FOREIGN EXHIBITORS Please note that fees are due and payable in Canadian dollars. Due to consistently fluctuating currency rates, discounted cheques will not be accepted. Personal cheques will be accepted, however, they are to be payable in Canadian funds. If you send a cheque in U.S. funds, it must be made out for the full amount of the entry and no exchange will be refunded to the exhibitor. Please do not mark cheques "Payable in Canadian Funds" or "At Par". They will not be cleared by the banks. To simplify the process, we urge that you purchase bank drafts or money orders payable in Canadian funds. Your understanding and co-operation is appreciated. Thank you.

ENTRY INFORMATION 1. No entry will be accepted unless all particulars called for on the entry form are completed in full. Handlers or agents please note the full name and address of all owners must be filled in. 2. Incomplete entries will be returned. No entry will be accepted unless accompanied by entry fees. Telephone entries cannot be accepted. Exhibitors must abide by errors made in entering their dogs regardless of how or by whom the entries were made. 3. There is no refund for duplicate cheques. Every effort will be made to find all duplicate entries, however if the entry has been processed and appears in the official catalogue, no refund will be made. 4. Substitutions or cancellations of any entry after the closing date is prohibited. An error in the class, date of birth or sex may be amended on the entry form up to one hour before the start of the trial. Only dogs which are already registered in the Canadian Kennel Club Stud Book, or are eligible for such registration can be entered. A dog may not enter the Open or Utility class unless it is registered with the CKC. The committee reserves the right to refuse any entry subject to CKC Rules. 5. Entries close at 8:00 pm on Monday May 21st, 2018 and must be in the hands of the Trial Secretary by that date. Day of Trial Entries must be made at least one hour before the start of the trial. 6. Judging schedules will be sent as soon as possible after the entries close. 7. Tendering of NSF cheques in payment of fees shall be considered non-payment of fees and is punishable by disciplinary action. Any N.S.F. cheques will be subject to the current fees charged by the LOC s financial institution. GENERAL INFORMATION 1. The Trial Chair will be in full charge of the Trial which will be governed by CKC Rules. 2. The Labrador Owners Club will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, or assume liability in the event of accident, or other misfortunes, to either dogs, exhibitors or patrons. A dog shall not be touched without permission of the owner or agent. GENERAL INFORMATION CONTINUED 3. If, because of riot, civil disturbance or other acts beyond the control of management, it is impossible to open or complete the trial, no refund of entry will be made. 4. Trial Precincts: The trial precincts shall consist of all judging areas set aside for the trial officials, judges, exhibitors and handlers and the entire building. NEARBY MOTELS ACCEPTING DOGS We have negotiated discounted rates at the following pet friendly hotels: SUNBRIDGE HOTEL & CONFERENCE CENTRE (Formerly the Holiday Inn) 200 Holiday Inn Drive, (519) 658-4601 The Sunbridge Hotel & Conference Centre offers comfortable, well-appointed rooms and all amenities are available to exhibitors and their families. A block of rooms has been reserved for our use at the rate of $105.00 + tax for double occupancy. Pool side room rate is the same. No charge for children under 12 staying in their parents room. Reservations are held until 4:00 p.m. of the day of arrival. A credit card or advance deposit of one night s stay is required to guarantee your room past 4:00 p.m. Rooms must be reserved before May 20, 2018 for the discounted rate. COMFORT INN HOTEL 220 Holiday Inn Drive, Cambridge (519) 658-1100 A block of rooms has been reserved for the LOC at the rate of $105.99 + tax per night. The hotel has blocked ground floor rooms for our club. Dogs are allowed in rooms. Mention the LOC when you book. ROOMS MUST BE RESERVED BY MAY 1, 2018 for the discounted rate. Please note - there is a big event this weekend - reservations must be cancelled by 4 pm on date of arrival to avoid penalty. BITCHES IN SEASON Bitches in season are not permitted to compete under C.K.C. Rules. We will refund all entry and listing fees if a bitch comes into season after closing date, upon presentation of a veterinarian s certificate, certifying the bitch was in season within the 10-day period preceding the trials. This certificate must be delivered to or reach the Trial Secretary before the trial commences. EVENT REGISTRATION NUMBER (ERN) Effective January 1/92 all dogs that are foreign born and foreign owned and enter Canada for the sole purpose of entering CKC events will no longer require a CKC registration number but will require an Event Registration Number (ERN). The ERN number MUST be applied for within 30 days of the first day of entering a CKC event. Fee is $58.50 per dog plus applicable taxes. OBEDIENCE TRIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS The Exhibitor is responsible for knowing and complying with the Obedience Rules and Regulations of the Canadian Kennel Club. Chapter 20 - Section 20.7 of the Obedience Rules and Regulations states: It shall be the duty and obligation of the trial-giving club to see that a judge, club official, ring steward, volunteer, or competitor at an Obedience Trial held under these regulations, is not subject to indignities of any kind. RALLY OBEDIENCE TRIAL RULES & REGULATIONS The Exhibitor is responsible for knowing and complying with the Rally Obedience Rules and Regulations of the Canadian Kennel Club. Chapter 17 - Section 17.1 of the Rally Obedience Rules and Regulations states: It shall be the duty and obligation of the trial-giving club to see that a judge, club official, ring steward, volunteer or competitor at a Rally Obedience Trial held under these regulations, is not subject to indignities of any kind. NON-MEMBER PARTICIPATION FEE Effective January 1, 2012: a) A non-member participation fee will be charged to a resident of Canada who is a non-member of the CKC. The fee will be $58.50 plus applicable taxes. b) The non-member participation fee is paid in any year a title is earned and covers all titles and dogs owned by that individual. c) In order for the title to be awarded, the non -member will have a choice to either become a CKC member or pay the nonmember participation fee. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will result in the title being withheld and the dog cannot be moved up to the next level. d) The fee applies only to dogs wholly owned by non-member residents of Canada and is not applicable to CKC members. IMPORTANT NOTICE There is no limitation on the number of trials at which a dog may be entered as a listed dog, except that a dog which has obtained three qualifying scores at obedience trials held under C.K.C. rules, may not continue to compete at licensed obedience trials held under the Club s rules until the dog is registered individually with the C.K.C. Foreign born and owned dogs, please refer to Event Registration Number (ERN) information listed earlier. Dogs in obedience must wear a well-fitted plain buckle or slip collar. Slip collars of any appropriate single length of leather, fabric or chain with two rings, one at each end, are acceptable. There shall be nothing hanging from the collar.
