There is not a lot to report,; he club continues to grow, our classes are full and we will be having a number of different trials this year - AKC Agility, Barn Hunt, UKC Obedience/Rally, AKC Obedience/Rally and possibly a Nose Work Trial. Remember these will be volunteer opportunities for service credits. All of these trials information will be posted on the website. General Meeting Minutes 10-16-15 (Reprint) The meeting was called to order at 7:35 PM. Silvia moved to accept the August minutes; Yvonne seconded. Nosework: classes are going well. No activities planned in the near future. Obedience Seminar conducted by Dave Kroyer: January 23-24, 2016. Flyer is out and published on our website. Dave recently competed as part of the USA team at the WUSV World Championship held in Finland at the end of September. Members will receive $25 off of the published public rate. Instructors can AUDIT for free. Reiki Seminar 10/18/15. Facilitated by Charisse. 4 hours. Being held on 10/18 only. $150 for members; $175 for non-members. Limited to 10 working spots. Entrants can bring your own dog to work on. Welcome to the World of Agility! Agility is definitely a team sport and both you and your dog will learn to play agility games in addition to a set of skills -- whether competing or just having fun. Safety is foremost!! Dogs are taught what they need to do when they approach an agility obstacle, while their handler must learn how to communicate with their companion during their fun run. Agility is a lot of fun and games. It s also contagious to the point that you may want to enter into competition. In preparing for an agility class, we must remember that some dogs are motivated by food, some can't get enough of tennis balls and for others a tug toy is the divine ground of existence! The New Fireplug There will be some changes to the Fireplug in a few months. Due to rising costs of printing and mailing, we will be going electronic with our issues starting this summer. There will be many more possibilities with how we can communicate. The pictures will be in color, and we will not be limited by the size of a picture or article that an issue can have with traditional printing limitations. Our Fireplug editor is excited to work with the new medium! (Editor s note: I really am!) We do understand that change can be difficult. We are offering a choice on this year s NOCI renewal form of paper copies of the Fireplug printed and mailed to you for the cost of $25 per year, or to have the electronic copy sent to your email address at no charge. If you wish to print the electronic copy, it is up to you. You will need to add $25 to your renewal fee if you wish to continue receiving paper copies of the Fireplug in the US mail. The membership roster will continue to be offered in electronic or paper copies at no charge. We hope you will enjoy the new look of the 2016 Fireplug! A very special way to say Thank You!
