THE DOGS REQUIRED TO RETURN FOR THE GROUP JUDGING ARE:- All Best of Breed Winners, Reserve Best of Breed, Best Puppies, Best Locally Bred Puppies and Best Locally Bred exhibits in each breed. THE BARBADOS KENNEL CLUB'S CHALLENGE CERTIFICATES have been allocated to each breed for the Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex and may be awarded or withheld at the Judge's discretion. 2
NOTICES 1. Copies of The Barbados Kennel Club's Championship Show Regulations are obtainable from the Show Secretary. 2. No dog may be removed from the show ground before the close of the show WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF THE SHOW MANAGER except under the conditions in this schedule under the heading "Order of Judging". 3. Puppies born on or after 19th May 2018 are not eligible to be entered in any class at this show. Baby puppies born on or after 19 th July 2018 are not eligible to be entered in this class. 4. All locally bred entries MUST BE REGISTERED WITH THE BARBADOS KENNEL CLUB. 5 Imported dogs must be registered with The Barbados Kennel Club. However, imported dogs for which the Export Pedigrees and Owners Certificates have not been received at the time of closing of entries, may be entered NAF, provided temporary registration including the information required for the show catalogue has been made with The Registrar of The Barbados Kennel Club and the appropriate fee paid by the date of closing of entries. The Export Pedigree and Owners Certificate must be received and presented to the Registrar on or before the day of the show. 6. If any dog has changed ownership, the transfer must be registered with The Barbados Kennel Club, or applied for, prior to the date of the show. All local dogs which wish to be shown must be registered with The Barbados Kennel Club at least 21 days before the date of the show. THE DOGS ELIGIBLE TO COMPETE FOR BEST OF SEX ARE: (i) All exhibits unbeaten in their sex in classes for that breed. N.B. Where the classes have both sexes, all exhibits which have been beaten only by a member of the OPPOSITE SEX are eligible to compete for Best of Sex. (ii) For Reserve Best of Sex, the exhibit which was placed second to the Best of Sex winner in its class (provided it has not been beaten by another of its sex in any other class) must return to the ring to compete with the remaining unbeaten exhibits. 8. THE DOGS ELIGIBLE TO COMPETE FOR BEST OF BREED ARE: (i) The dog and bitch awarded Best of Sex. (ii) For Reserve Best of Breed, the Reserve Best of Sex to the Best of Breed winner shall return to the ring to compete with the Best of Opposite Sex in the Breed. 9. THE DOGS ELIGIBLE TO COMPETE FOR BEST OF GROUP ARE: (i) Those awarded Best of Breed, provided they have not been beaten in a Variety Class (Stud Dog and Brood Bitch classes excepted). (ii) The best of the unbeaten winners from the Variety Classes (Stud Dog and Brood Bitch classes excepted). (iii) For RESERVE IN THE GROUP, the reserve to the group winner in the breed judging shall return to the ring to compete with the remaining Best of Breed winners. 10. THE DOGS ELIGIBLE TO COMPETE FOR BEST IN SHOW ARE: (i) All unbeaten dogs except that a group winner shall not be precluded from competing if it has been beaten only in a Stud Dog, Brood Bitch or Brace Class. (ii) For RESERVE BEST IN SHOW, the dog which was reserve to the Best in Show winner in its group shall return to the ring to compete with the remaining group winners. 11. The mating of bitches within the precincts of the Show is forbidden. 12. No dog may be exercised off lead at any time during the show. 13. Members whose subscriptions are in arrears at the time of entry will be required to pay non-member=s entry fees. 14. In the case of dogs owned in partnership, all partners must be members of The Barbados Kennel Club in order to benefit from member=s entry fees. 3
15. A bitch may be disqualified by the Committee of the Barbados Kennel Club from winning any award whether an objection has been lodged or not, if proven to be spayed or prevented from breeding as a result of surgical operation EXCEPT that this shall not apply to a bitch which has progeny registered with the Barbados Kennel Club, nor to a bitch for which a veterinary certificate is provided stating that such an operation was necessary for medical reasons. 16. (a) A dog may be disqualified from winning any award at the show if it is not presented for judging when called to the ring EXCEPT WHERE PRIOR PERMISSION FOR ITS WITHDRAWAL HAS BEEN OBTAINED FROM THE SHOW MANAGER. (b) Dogs which become eligible for BEST OF GROUP and BEST IN SHOW may be withdrawn from entry in the Veteran Class in order to remain unbeaten. 17. The Challenge trophies awarded are the property of the Barbados Kennel Club and are to be returned in the same condition in which they are presented. Persons returning dirty or damaged trophies or failing to return trophies WILL BE HELD FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE. 18. The Barbados Kennel Club's Challenge Certificates will be allocated for the dogs awarded Best of Breed and Best of Opposite sex. These will be awarded at the Judge's discretion. 19. Children entering Junior Handling classes, who have not previously trained at handling classes sponsored by the Barbados Kennel Club or its affiliates, are required to attend a minimum of three classes prior to the show. DEFINITION OF CLASSES A BABY PUPPY CLASS For baby puppies of 4 and not exceeding 6 calendar months of age on the 18 th November 2018. These will only compete for the Best Baby Puppy in Show. "B" MINOR PUPPY For dogs of six and not exceeding nine calendar months of age on the 18th November 2018. "C" PUPPY For dogs of six and not exceeding twelve calendar months of age on the 18th November 2018. "D" JUNIOR For dogs of six and not exceeding eighteen calendar months of age on the 18th November 2018. "E" NOVICE "F" LIMIT "G" OPEN For dogs which have not won a Challenge Certificate or three or more first prizes or awards in any classes at any shows (Minor Puppy and Puppy Classes excepted). For dogs which have not won three Challenge Certificates under three different judges, nor more than six first prizes or awards in all in Limit or Open Classes confined to the Breed at Championship Shows. For all dogs. If confined to a breed or variety, for all dogs of that breed or variety. VARIETY CLASSES "H" STUD DOG "I" BROOD BITCH For stud dogs and at least 2 progeny of which only the progeny must be entered and exhibited in a breed class at the Show. There is no entry fee for progeny in this class, the ring numbers of which must be submitted to the Show Secretary on the day of the Show. For brood bitches and at least 2 progeny of which only the progeny must be entered and exhibited in a breed class at the Show. "J" VETERAN For dogs of six years and over on the 18th November, 2018. "K" BRACE For two exhibits owned by the same owner, both of which have been entered in classes for their breed at the show. IMPORTANT NOTICE The Show Committee is very concerned over the lack of proper control over dogs while on the Showground and wish to advise as follows: 1) Dogs must not be left in vehicles, cages or tied to the fence unattended. 2) Handlers should exercise great care and control over their dogs and avoid close contact with other entrants at all times. 3) Dogs should never be allowed to eye ball each other. 4) Large dogs should not be entrusted to the care of young children, except during the Junior Handling competition when parents/guardians should be in close attendance. WORKING GROUP - Bouvier Des Flandres - 11.45 a.m. - Bullmastiffs - 11.45 a.m. - Neap. There will be a tea break following the judging of the Boxers during which the Junior Handling Classes will be judged. ORDER OF JUDGING The above provisional time schedule reflects the order of judging for the various breeds listed. This will be amended if there are entries in additional breeds and this information will be included in the revised time schedule. Variety classes will commence immediately after the tea interval, followed by groups which will be judged in the following order: 6
