Conclusions positive case confirmed after 6 years period at the moment no further suspicions /confirmations of rabies on the territory of the Slovak Republic Further investigation is ongoing Measures adopted by DVFA Bardejov- local veterinary authority (on the spot) Following the case localisation the occurrence could have the correlation with the rabies occurrence in Poland observed (according to PL veterinary autohority report - 2011: Malopolskie voivodeship 60 cases and Podkarpatskie voivodeship 63 cases; 2012 ( January-November) Malopolskie viovodeship 15 and Podkarpatskie voivodeship 192 cases; On the base of sequency analysisof the virus made by SK reference laboratory: NEE North East Europe type ( actually circulated in 16 the North- East part of Europe); other typisation of the virus is ongoing
Conclusions II. For 2013 ( and the following years) the Slovak Republic will continue to provide oral vaccination of foxes (depending on the epidemiological situation the changes concerning vaccination area possible) vaccination of domestic carnivoras monitoring of rabies in wild and domestic animals in the whole territory of the Slovak Republic 17
