The 2018 calendar is effective January 1, 2018. Refuse is picked-up weekly year-round and recycling is picked-up bi-weekly year-round. The Village is divided into (3) sections with each section having a different pick-up day (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday). The 2018 calendar can be viewed on the Village s webpage at www.vil.oregon.wi.us. This calendar will designate which day you have refuse pick-up and which day you have recycling pick-up. Properties included in the Village Contract Residential complexes with four units or less, which include single family homes, duplexes, and three-unit and four-unit residential buildings are covered under the Village s refuse & recycling contract. Any combination of businesses within one building which do not enter into a separate contract with a solid waste collection or disposal company and whose total garbage collection produces the same or less than a single family residential unit are eligible to use the automated cart system. Interested businesses should contact Pellitteri at 608-257-4285. Refuse & Recycling Monthly Fee for 2018 The base monthly fee is $11.45 for 2018. The diesel fuel surcharge is applied if diesel fuel is over $3.00 a gallon. A rebate is given if diesel fuel is under $2.50 a gallon. The monthly rate will fluctuate depending on the cost of diesel fuel. The refuse and recycling charge is billed on the Village of Oregon Municipal Services bill. Please note Dane County s increasing landfill costs may impact the monthly fee. The refuse and recycling carts must be at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on your scheduled collection day. Pellitteri will not be sending 2018 collection calendars via mail. You may print one at www.vil.oregon.wi.us or pick one up at the following locations: Village Hall, Library, or the Senior Center. Need a bigger refuse or recycling cart? Call Pellitteri for sizes and prices - 608-257-4285!

Electronic Device Recycling E-Cycle Wisconsin is a statewide, manufacturer-funded program that recycles certain electronics used in homes and schools. Individuals, K-12 public schools and Parental Choice Program schools can use E-Cycle Wisconsin to save on electronics recycling. Others may use the program to find responsible recyclers. The E-Cycle Wisconsin program is supported by Wisconsin's electronics recycling law (2009 Wisconsin Act 50), which bans electronics such as TVs, computers and cell phones from Wisconsin landfills and incinerators. If you have electronic devices (computer, TV, microwave, etc.) you wish to dispose of please call Pellitteri for a special pick up at 257-4285 or visit http://dnr.wi.gov/topic/ecycle/ for more information. Clean Sweep Clean sweep is a program designed to lower the environmental risks associated with improper disposal of hazardous materials by providing the public with an opportunity to dispose of unwanted pesticides, household products, and chemicals in a safe and legal manner. There is a $10 trip charge for household hazardous waste and electronics. Customers with large loads are encouraged to call 608-838-3212. Visit www.danecountycleansweep.com for more information. Hours: Monday through Friday - 7:00 a.m. - 2:45 p.m. Saturday - 8:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. Closed Sunday and Holidays. Location: Year Round Facility at Dane County Landfill 7102 US Hwy 12 (Beltline 12/18 East toward Cambridge) Tel: (608) 838-3212 - Clean Sweep or (608) 838-9555-Landfill Info Holiday Tree and Wreath Collection Monday - January 8, 2018 (start of collection) All ornament, tinsel and wire must be removed. It is the homeowner s responsibility to make sure trees and wreaths are NOT buried in the snow. Collection will begin on the above date depending on the Public Works schedule. Public Works staff will only go through the whole Village once, so it is important that the above items are at the curb by this date. Village residents may also dispose of trees and wreaths at the Yard Waste Drop-off Site at the end of North Perry Parkway. Items must be at the curbside by 6:00 a.m. on the scheduled pick-up day.

Leaf Collection Brush Collection Starts October 22, 2018 2nd Monday of the Month April thru October Page 3 Leaf pick-up is done with a leaf vac and taken to a disposal site. The following rules must be followed or leaves will NOT be picked-up: Leaves must be raked onto the terrace area and not in the street and must be piled or windrowed in the terrace area. Leaves must be a minimum of (5) feet away from any fire hydrant, tree trunk, mailbox, electrical boxes or light pole. Leaf piles containing brush, garden or yard waste may NOT be picked-up. Leaf piles with vehicles parked in front of them will be left. The Village of Oregon Public Works Department typically starts on the northeast side (by high school area) and works counter clockwise to the west side of the rail road tracks, then to the southern border and proceeds north to the downtown area. This rotation is continued until all the leaves are collected or the snow covers them (whichever comes first). Maps showing the progress of the leaf collection program can be found on the village web site. If you would like to obtain wood chippings please contact Gary Disch at 835-6293 All brush collected by the Village is disposed of by chipping. The following rules MUST be observed or brush will NOT be picked-up: Stumps and roots must be removed. The homeowner is responsible to dispose of the stumps and roots. Brush must be tied in bundles of no more that 12 inches in diameter and five feet long. Tie bundles with natural fiber string such as twine. Do not use nylon cord, plastic ties or wire. Brush should be bundled with the cut end all at one end and bundles should be placed at a 45 degree angle to the street. No brush will be picked up that is in a garbage bag. Bundles should not exceed 40 pounds in weight Place brush in an open area on the terrace at the street edge, away from trees, electrical boxes, fire hydrants, and telephone poles. The Village will NOT collect: 1. Trimming done by a private contractor 2. Brush cleared from undeveloped property 3. Stumps or branches in excess of 5 inches in diameter or 8 feet in length. Please Note: An attempt will be made to collect on the dates specified and will continue as the Public Works staff has time, but no more than one pick-up will be scheduled for the area for each scheduled date. *Collection route for brush is the same as leaf pickup*

General Snow Removal Guidelines for the Village of Oregon The Village of Oregon Public Works Department follows the Snow and Ice Control Program put in place by the Oregon Village Board. The program designates certain areas, streets, sidewalks, alleys, parking lots, etc. into classes. These classes are ranked by their priority and snow removal is in class order. The Public Works Department strives to plow and remove the snow from the designated routes and areas as efficiently and safely as possible. When there is a significant amount of snowfall the snow removal process takes longer. During heavy snowfall events the crews will typically pass through an area twice, clearing a drive path first, followed with final plowing and clean-up later. Here are some tips to follow to help the snow removal crews get your streets done more efficiently: Park your vehicle in your driveway (especially in the cul-de-sac areas) Pushing and blowing snow into streets and pedestrian areas as well as pushing snow across streets and piling in public right of ways is prohibited Do not stop or flag down Village plow trucks during snow removal Obey snow emergency rules and regulations Obey parking signage and alternate side parking ordinances Do not put trash & recycling receptacles in the road (place in your driveway or the terrace area) No perpendicular parking on cul-de-sacs. Thank you for your assistance with the snow removal process. To see the complete snow removal policy please visit the Public Works Department tab at www.vil.oregon.wi.us Help Your Neighbor and Dig Out the Fire Hydrant! Please clear the fire hydrant at least 2 feet all the way around and make sure to clear a path for street access to the hydrant. This allows the Fire Department quick and easy access during an emergency. Please Shovel Your Sidewalks Promptly! Residents need to shovel their sidewalks within 24 hours of a completed snow event and clear the snow off the entire width of the sidewalk. Property owners who do not clear their sidewalks promptly may be in violation of municipal ordinances and may face penalties. Sidewalks need to be clear of snow and ice for pedestrian safety. In cases where ice has formed on public sidewalks and cannot be removed, the property owner must use sand or salt to effectively eliminate dangerous conditions. Page 5
