There is NO overnight parking allowed. -15- -2- SHOW REGULATIONS Exhibitors must obey (abide by) all regulations or requirements of the management of the facility owning the show site. Telegraph, Telephone and Unsigned Entries Cannot Be Accepted. Entries Not On Official AKC Entry Forms and Photocopies Of Entry Forms without the Agreement and Rules on the reverse side of the Official AKC Entry Form are NOT ACCEPTABLE. No Entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any conditions as to its acceptance. Changes, additions or corrections to entry forms must be received in writing or by facsimile prior to close of entries. Changes which are received on the telephone are unacceptable. Declination of Entries. The Borzoi Club of Northern California (BCNC) may decline any entries for cause and may refuse to receive or may remove any dog on account of disease, viciousness or other cause and no one shall have any claim or recourse against the Borzoi Club of Northern California or any official thereof. All Entry Fees are to be made payable to the Borzoi Club of Northern California (BCNC) and are to be mailed with entries to Judy Wilson, Event Secretary, 209 Wainwright Ct., Sacramento, CA 95838-2941. FOREIGN exhibitors must make fees payable in U.S. Funds. ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT FEES. Acknowledgment of entries will be made as soon as practicable with any necessary tickets. Should such ACKNOWLEDGMENT not be received by the Exhibitor within a reasonable time, please notify the show secretary. FACSIMILE MACHINE ENTRIES for this show will be accepted up to closing time. For VISA/ MasterCard and American Express cardholders ONLY. You must include the front and back of the entry form. A $3.00 charge will be added for each dog, each day. Be sure to include cardholder s name, address, card number and expiration date and signature. If the credit card charge is denied for any reason, an additional service charge will be added. Proof of transmission is not proof of a receipt of a legible or complete transmission (under AKC Rule Chapter 11, Section 4). Owners are responsible for errors in making out entry forms, whoever may make such errors and no entry fee will be refunded in event of such errors or cancellation of entries after the published closing date. No Refund for Duplicate Entries. We will make every effort to find all duplicate entries, but if an entry has been processed, no refund will be made. Returned Checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. The show secretary will add a $25.00 collection fee to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks from the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY basis. Entry Fees shall not be refunded in the event of errors or cancellation of entries after the published closing date, nor in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by a Veterinarian or Judge or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee. If because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open or to complete the show, no refund of entry fee will be made. The Show will be Open from 7:00am to 7:00pm. Consult Judging Program for time of judging. Dogs May Arrive any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. Dogs not required for further judging will be excused. Judges are not required to wait for dogs. They will adhere as closely as possible to the Judging Schedule. The owner or handler of each dog is solely responsible for having it ready at ringside when it is scheduled to be judged. The show-giving Club and the show secretary have no obligation or responsibility for providing service through a public address system or stewards or runners for the purpose of calling or locating dogs that are not brought into the ring when required. The Show Giving Club, The Show Secretary, their agents or employees assume no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury sustained by exhibitors, handlers, spectators or to any of their dogs or property, and further assumes no responsibility for injury to any child not under the control of their parents or guardians. No Dogs will be allowed in the Show Area except those regularly entered in the show. There will be NO SPACE for unentered dogs at this show. All trophies, including cash prizes, MUST be claimed the day of the show None will be mailed. PLEASE NOTE: No entry may be changed or canceled unless notice of the change or cancellation is received in writing or by telegram by the Superintendent or Show Secretary named in the premium list to receive entries, prior to the closing date and hours for entries, except that a correction may be made in the sex of a dog, or a dog may be transferred from one division of the Puppy Class to another or between the Puppy and Twelve-to-Eighteen Month Class at a show prior to the judging, and except that dogs which according to their owners records have completed the requirements for a championship after the closing of entries for a show but whose championships are unconfirmed, may be transferred from one of the regular classes to the Best of Breed or Variety competition, provided this transfer is made by the Superintendent or Show Secretary at least one half-hour prior to the scheduled start of any regular conformation judging at the show. No dog may otherwise be transferred to another class. Owners are responsible for errors in the entry forms, regardless of who may make such errors. (American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 11, Section 6.) All persons attending these shows hereby wave any claim for damages against the Borzoi Club of Northern California or the Elk Grove Parks & Recreation District, in the event a motor vehicle must be entered to rescue a dog from over-heating or suffocations due to improper ventilation.

This trophy is offered at the Borzoi Club of Northern California s Spring Specialty. For permanent possession, the trophy must be won three times by the same owner, not necessarily with the same dog. The trophy will remain in the possession of the Borzoi Club of Northern California until retired. Sweepstakes Rules ELIGIBILITY: The Sweepstakes is open to all Borzois who on the day of the show will be six months and under 18 months of age. SWEEPSTAKES ARE LIMITED TO AMATEUR* HANDLERS AND OWNERS ONLY. Professional Handlers may show only their own dogs. (*Amateur handlers are those persons who engage in the sport of purebred dogs as a hobby or pasttime rather than as a profession.) ENTRY FEE is $15.00 per entry and is in addition to the entry fee for the Regular Classes. All entrants in Sweepstakes must also be entered in a Regular Class in this Show at the appropriate entry fee. Entries shall be made at the same time, on the same form as the Regular Class entry. Indicate Sweepstakes, with appropriate age in the space provided for Additional Classes. Sweepstakes Classes will be judged prior to the Regular Breed Classes. Classifications (continued) BEST OF BREED COMPETITION Award of Merit The Borzoi Club of Northern California will offer up to four Award(s) of Merit to all dogs competing in the Best of Breed Competition (other than Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed, Winners Dog and Winners Bitch) for deserved recognition of quality breed characteristics, to be awarded at the officiating judge s discretion. A special Rosette will be presented to the Award of Merit recipient(s). NON-REGULAR CLASSES (Involving multiple dog entries) Stud Dog Class: for stud dogs and at least two but no more than five of their get. Stud dogs must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and must be shown in the ring with their get. Owner of the stud dog need not necessarily be the owner of the get. Judging to be on the merits of the get. Get must be entered in another conformation class in this show. Brood Bitch Class: same as for the stud dog except substitute brood bitch for stud dog and produce for get. Brace Class: effective 1/1/2005 -- for two dogs of the same recognized breed or variety that are similar in appearance. Both dogs in the Brace class must have at least one common owner. Open Class: For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Place awards with competition present in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. The winner of the Novice Class shall automatically become eligible, upon notice to the Open Class ring steward, to enter and compete in the Open Class at the same show provided the win is the third (3rd) first place award with competition and further providing there are one or more Junior Handlers competing in the Open Class. Each dog handled in a regular Junior Showmanship Class must be entered in one of the breed classes at this show or entered for Junior Showmanship only. However, a dog that must be withdrawn for good and sufficient reason, such as a bitch in season, or a veterinarian s excuse, may be replaced by another dog meeting the below ownership requirements. Such substitution must be required in writing stating the reason for the substitution and must be accompanied by an Official AKC Form. All such requests must be made at least a half hour prior to the judging of any regular class at the show.
