Bryan has been working on getting WiFi for the building BKC has a new CD for 18 months at Monona State Bank Class income was lower since less classes take place in the summertime Thank you, Dawn - Treasurer Minutes General Meeting June 16, 2016 Three guests were present; Shirley Cunningham, who has a Miniature Poodle and is interested in spending more time with her pup and become more involved in shows, Elaine Venjohn and her Blue Healer/Rat Terrier Hank, and Tim Baker and his American Water Spaniel. Following the introduction of guests, the President called the meeting to order at approximately 7:10 p.m. A quorum was present. Brags: Wes Brown bragged about his 5 healthy puppies and Reba is 10/13 qualifiers Judy Ferris Center has a canine good citizens, Adopted Karen Raz grand champ President s Report: Presented Strategic Planning to Judy. Suggested in addition to the 25 hours of volunteer work (class training or meetings) that 40 hours of income generating hours are required for free classes Listing jobs broke program - Working on ironing out details Jr Handler Scholarship pass to Waukesha or Winnegamie club as presenters BKC will still donate funds Karen Scott outside management (Vendor) to assist with funding book keeping (various options) income generating, publicity, etc. Dog interest barn hunt potential (Land options) Vice President s Report: Working on phone system set up recent snag in the process and will follow up

Secretary Report: Mounds dog fest: super hero theme see notes 5,500 people 58 rescue groups Treasurer report: Dawn presented the monthly profit/loss statement Edward Jones CD still has 10,000 in mutual funds (zero return on investment) Earned $50.00 from 30G CD Edward Jones account 20,000 to put in a CD 18 mo (0.25%) Dawn has the report and will put in the bits (not all members get the bits) Budget due in September Renewal membership due by the end of June Committee Reports: Conformation - 7:30 pm classes have been full Puppy Class - New Chair is Makayla Paine - August Puppy Basics Monday and Wednesday Agility - 2 classes are currently in progress until mid-july. In order to continue with the classes teachers are needed. Monday June 25 th - December show planning meeting will meet. Canine Good Citizens - 10 people signed up for classes with three teachers (John, Karen, and?) Shareon and Katie are assisting. The next class begins July 11 at 7 pm. Sam and Morgan will help with the classes and testing. Rally - will resume in September Obedience - will hold summer classes Therapy Gary from TGI will hold a testing session on June 25th Garage Sale September 18th (any animal items) in need of volunteers (Judy - cashier) Sale will be at the club and left overs will be up for sale for the following week Humane Society - presenter volunteers requested (June, July and 2 in August) Therapy dog opportunity - talk to Linda Old Business: Motion to approve for meeting minutes for May 2 with corrections was approved. Board member voting: Nothing was found regarding a conflict in policies and procedures under the nominating committee stating a member of the nominating committee cannot be nominated on the board. Order of Classes Saturday: Judge Debra Schneider: Novice A & B, Beginning Novice A & B, Preferred Novice, Grad Novice, Open A & B, Preferred Open. Judge Robert Burgin: Utility A & B, Preferred Utility, Grad Open. Rally Nov A & B, Advanced A & B, Rally Excellent A & B. Sunday same order but Judges are reversed. Looking to the future: We need a person to learn the Secretary job from MaryJane Reich for the next December trial. I m willing to be chair another year but will need someone to replace me too, start learning now and help out BKC. There are also other jobs to help out with, Stewards, prizes etc. Let me know if you want to help. We are planning a meeting in August, so far most votes are for Aug 25, 6 to 7:30 pm. If you want to vote in the doodle poll, e-mail me kjalbrig@wisc.edu and I will send you the link. We will be discussing classes and coming up with ideas for a seminar for training the trainers. Assisting is a lot of Fun and you earn a free class certificate. Fall classes start in September CGC/BFDT needs assistants, Also Rally setting up the course is a skill easily learned. These classes are on Sunday morning and afternoon, of course Puppy classes and agility too.

In the Ribbons: From Joan Mrkvicka: Jubilee (photo on cover) was invited to the Great Dane Club of America National Show in Oklahoma this October. She ranked #1 in Agility (over 14 dogs), #9 in Rally Novice, and #13 in Obedience. Sad we can't go as we are planning a breeding this Fall and hopefully she will be having puppies in October. From Jennifer Amundsen: At the recent UKC shows in Ixonia, Clumber spaniel results were as follows: Karma's Lady Sybil ("Sybbie") earned 2 Group 4 placements Karma's Driving for the Abbey ("Branson") earned a BOB Both pups, at 8 months of age, well-started on their way to their UKC championships. Sybbie and Branson are owned by Jennifer and her husband, Michael Finnegan and cobred by them and Roe Froman, DVM. From Chris Esposito: I have two brags. 1) Harley passed his TDI test, and 2) I passed my CGC Evaluator test and I am officially a CGC Evaluator. From Carol Mahlik: We have a new UKC Grand Champion, Indy, UKC GRCH "Jetocas Rev On The Red Line" received his GRCH at the Illinois Toy Fox Terrier show in Peoria, Illinois on May 22. From Patricia Doescher: Our Shiba Inu Ch. Hi-Jinx Hot Potato CA, owned and bred by me, Pat Doescher is continuing on with his coursing ability tests now having earned 11 qualifying runs and his CAA title. He has earned his title in FAST coursing ability as well, having attained the needed 150 points for his BCAT title and now with over 200 points total is on his way to the next level. He is ranked by AKC along with his cousin Kat, as second fastest Shiba in FAST CAT both at 24 MPH but beaten only by his sister Penny at a screaming 27 MPH! Meanwhile Ch. Hi-Jinx Black Tie Affair earned his CGC easily on July 23, 2016.
