PLEASE NOTE In accordance with Kennel Club directive to Show Secretaries, exhibitors are warned that action may be taken against anyone allowing a dog to foul the area adjacent to the Show. Persistent fouling may result in the Committee refusing to accept entries from the owner/handler concerned at future Club events. Equipment will be provided to help owners as much as possible, but the responsibility remains with the exhibitor. All persons attending the Show must compensate and/or indemnify the Club for any loss or damage to any property or buildings within the Showground, caused with or without negligence by any person under the age of 18 years who is brought by them to the Show or for whom they are responsible. Care will be taken to ensure the safety and comfort of those attending the Show. However, people should familiarise themselves with the Show venue, making sure that they know the locations of the Emergency Exits and take care not to obstruct doorways or access to Fire Extinguishers. Any person leaving their dog(s) in a motor vehicle must ensure that they are appropriately cared for throughout the day. Failure to do this will result in the Committee refusing to accept entries at future Club Shows and events. Also (vide K.C. Reg. B(2) 32(a)) Unless a dog has won a 1st, 2nd, 3rd or Reserve in a class, it is ineligible to compete for any Cup or Special. Subsequently, any owners of dogs which have won such awards and who feel they are eligible for competition for Challenge Trophies or Specials which are not class awards, must present themselves in the ring when called for by the judge to be eligible (even though the award may seem obvious). If you require acknowledgement of your entries, please enclose a stamped addresses envelope.

Where the Best in Show is a puppy it should automatically be awarded Best Puppy in Show respectively. If a Reserve Best in Show is to be selected, the eligible dogs are those declared Best Opposite Sex and the Reserve Best of Sex to the exhibit declared Best in Show. 12. Exhibits will not be admitted to Best in Show competition after a period of ten minutes has elapsed since the announcement that exhibits are required for judging, unless they have been unavoidably delayed by previous judging not being completed on time, and then only with the special permission of the Show Management. 13. Exhibitors must not pick up dogs by their tails and leads when lifting them nor handle a dog in a manner which causes its feet not touch the ground when on the move. This is not acceptable. Exhibitors should note that such practice would constitute harsh handling and reports of such practice will be referred to the Committee under Kennel Club Show Regulation F11. 14. All exhibitors must be familiar with Kennel Club Regulation F (Annex B) - Regulations for the Preparation of Dogs for Exhibition. 15. All dogs resident outside of the UK must be issued with a Kennel Club Authority to Compete number before entry to the show/event can be made. All overseas entries without an Authority to Compete number will be returned to the exhibitor/competitor. 16. Dogs in Vehicles on Hot Days. Anyone whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not put a dog s health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. Breach of Kennel Club Regulations in this respect may be referred to the Board for disciplinary action under Kennel Club Rules and Regulations. Your dog is vulnerable and at risk during hot weather and the Kennel Club offers the following guidance to help guide you through the do s and don ts travelling to and whilst at KC licensed events. When travelling to a show please take a moment to consider whether the route to the show is on a busy holiday route, and leave earlier to avoid increased time in traffic jams. If your vehicle is not air-conditioned seriously consider whether travelling to the show is a good idea at all. The vehicle should be as fully ventilated as possible, and plenty of stops should be taken, with lots of water available to drink. Ensure your dog is not sitting in full sunlight. There should be plenty of free flowing air around the dog. When at the show, never leave your dog in the vehicle. Keep the dog in the shade - take your own shade for example a large umbrella and always have plenty of water available to drink so your dog stays well hydrated. Avoid your dog taking part in unnecessary exertion, or from standing in exposed sunlight for extended lengths of time.

Remember, if you feel hot your dog is very likely to feel much hotter and dehydrated, and this could lead to dire results. Please look after your dog s welfare. WARNING: IF YOUR DOG IS FOUND TO BE AT RISK FORCIBLE ENTRY TO YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE NECESSARY WITHOUT LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED. 17. Anyone whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not put a dog s health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. Breach of Kennel Club Regulations in this respect may be referred to the Board for disciplinary action under the Kennel Club Rules and Regulations. The use of pinch collars, electronic shock collars, or prong collars, is not permitted at any show licensed by the Kennel Club. This shall apply at the venue or within the precincts of the show. 18. Not for Competition entries will be accepted. Details of each dog so entered must be recorded on the entry form and must be Kennel Club registered. 19. No modifications will be made to the schedule except by permission of the Board of the Kennel Club, which will be followed by advertisement in the Canine press wherever possible. 20. Any owner, competitor, handler or other person in charge of a dog is required to remove as soon as possible any fouling caused by their dog(s) at any Kennel Club licensed show within the licensed venue and within the environs of that event including car and caravan parks and approaches. 21. The owner, exhibitor, handler or other person in charge of a dog at Kennel Club licensed events must at all times ensure that the dog is kept under proper control whilst at the licensed venue, including its environs, car and caravan parks and approaches. This Regulation applies before (at any time during the set up period at the venue), during the event and afterwards (at any time during the breakdown of the event). 22. Exhibitors passes will not be sent out. Anyone requiring acknowledgement of their entries must enclose a stamped addressed envelope. VAT receips will only be sent on request and on receipt of a stamped addressed envelope. 23. The closing date for entries is Saturday, 6th October 2018 (Postmark); any entries received after Saturday, 13th October will be returned. 24. Should a judge be prevented from fulfilling his/her engagement, the Committee reserve the right to appoint another judge in their place, subject to KC Rules & Regulations, no entry fees will be returned. 25. Exhibitors wishing to bring their dogs to the show without exhibiting them, may enter them Not for Competiton. They should be entered on the entry form in the normal way as Newfoundlands. 26. NO ELECTRICAL GROOMING EQUIPMENT MAY BE USED within the precincts of the show. 27. Any person leaving their dog/s in a motor vehicle, must ensure that they are approriately cared for throughout the day. Failure to do so, will result on the Committee refusing to accept entries for future Club show and events. TRADE STANDS The Committee can accept no responsibility for products advertised or sold by standholders at the show and wish to remind exhibitors that grooming products on sale at the show may not meet the requirements of the Regulations for the preperation of Dogs for Exhibition.
