2 Care UK acknowledges that each of its NHS Treatment Centres is unique in its individual medicines management requirements. To ensure that each centres follows NICE Good Practice Guidelines (December 2012) local formularies have been developed to ensure that : Clinicians working in our are offered a choice of products that reflects local needs Reduces variation in prescribing trends Allows for innovation and rapid uptake of medicines and treatments in accordance with statutory requirements Each local formulary is developed as part of the over-arching Care UK Medicines Strategy where cost effectiveness and innovation are constantly reviewed by a group of specialists in their field. The medicines used within the Barlborough NHS Treatment Centre have been categorised according to BNF categories as follows: 1. Gastro-Intestinal System 2. Cardiovascular 3. Respiratory system 4.
