1 The following Kilconnor Ram and Ewe Lambs will be offered for sale on Saturday July 28 th The lambs are pictured below in their working clothes early June of this year. This is the fifth year we offer rams for sale at the premier sale after successful premiers over past few years where a full clearance of rams was achieved, and after the success of entering two ewe lambs last year we have decided to enter two ewe lambs again this year. We sell the majority of our rams privately and this remains our preferred method of sale, the last 4 years rams sold at the premier were the only rams offered through sales rings. Kilconnor lambs are within the Covexin 10 system and were treated with Normectin anthelmintic on June 10 th These lambs have been out day and night since January including two heavy snow events; while being out in three foot of snow in March affected them they have proved their toughness since and have thrived fantastically. These lambs are not pushed and will improve as they get older, we retain 5 rams annually for our own commercial use and this is the main driver in our breeding programme. The lambs are all recorded by Sheep Ireland within the LambPlus programme.

2 Ewe Lambs The ewe lambs offered for sale are both by Rockvilla Oscar, who was bought in conjunction with the Deerpark flock prior to their dispersal in 2014, Oscar has bred exceptionally well in the flock with a ram lamb by him also entered in the sale. This is the last year that Rockvilla Oscar stock will be available from Kilconnor. When we originally decided to bring ewe lambs to the premier we said they need to be exceptional and believe these two are; The first ewe lamb we offer is H her dam is H an exceptional ewe a daughter of A the best breeding line in the flock. First ram lamb into the ring below is her twin, another full brother of this lamb was sold to Susan Kidd s A45 flock at the 2017 premier, and his twin sister was in the ewe lamb final line up at the All Ireland in This lamb is by Rockvilla Oscar and her figures match her power being 5 Star terminal top 2% of the breed, Replacement 5 Star top 8% in breed and exceptional days to slaughter of days top 1% of the breed. Offering this lamb for sale shows we are offering the best genetics within the flock with these ewe lambs. The second ewe lamb offered for sale is H her dam is H a powerful ewe sired by Lisfuncheon Drico back to A bought privately as a lamb from the Kelso family. This lamb has a fantastic top line that is carried the entire way down and has super figures being 5 stars for Terminal Top 7% in breed and 4 Star for Replacement traits. Similar to the first lamb she is also sired by Rockvilla Oscar. Ram Lambs The ram lambs offered this year are by two main sires within the flock. H is the first lamb into the ring, by Rockvilla Oscar and twin the first ewe lamb into the ring. A full brother of this lamb was sold to Susan Kidd s A45 flock at the 2017 premier, and his twin sister was in the ewe lamb final line up at the All Ireland in The lamb is top 2% for days to slaughter with figures, top 3% for overall terminal index and also double Five Star Terminal & Replacement indices. This lamb is one of the best sons of Rockvilla Oscar offered for sale and will be the last offered through the ring. Second lamb is H a lamb that is something special and a complete outcross for all flocks in Ireland; he shows real length with traditional Charollais muscle. This lamb is full French breed being the first lamb offered for sale through the ring sired by Pinot S18 purchased from the Palinges test centre sale in Pinot was the highest Index ram offered for sale at the 2015 test centre sale and a brother was retained as a Test Centre ram in 2015, proving to be very successful AI sire in France over recent years. His dam was purchased privately from Dominque Duverne s hugely successful D14 flock in France; a full brother of this lamb is currently being used by us as a stock ram. This lambs figures have very low accuracies so not really useable but are increasing significantly with the more data input in the system.

3 Ewe Lambs Lot 22: H Twin DOB: 29 th December 2017 Sire: Rockvilla Oscar Dam Sire: Kilronan Zanardi An exceptionally well bred ewe lamb that has been a favourite since the day she was born, 5 stars for Terminal and 5 Stars Replacement with LambPlus. Rams sire is Rockvilla Oscar and her dam is from the best breeding line in the flock. Lamb is 5 Stars Replacement and 5 Stars Terminal with LambPlus. Lot 23: H Single DOB: 22 nd January 2018 Sire: Rockvilla Oscar Dam Sire: Lisfuncheon Drico A powerful ewe lamb from an excellent A3 family with exceptional figures, 5 stars for Terminal and 4 Stars Replacement with LambPlus. Lambs sire is Rockvilla Oscar and her dam is a homebred ewe by Lisfuncheon Drico premier sale Supreme Champion in Lamb is 4 Stars Replacement and 5 Stars Terminal

4 Ram Lambs Lot 49: H Twin DOB: 29 th December 2018 Sire: Rockvilla Oscar Dam Sire: Kilronan Zanardi This lamb is by Rockvilla, weighed 76kgs 29 th June and scanned XXX Muscle with XX Fat, he is the twin of the first ewe lamb into the ring and full brother to flock A45 stock ram sold at premier He is top 2% for days to slaughter and top 3% for Terminal traits. Ram is 5 Stars Replacement and 5 Stars Terminal with LambPlus. Lot 115: H Single DOB: 31 st December 2018 Sire: S18 Pinot Dam Sire: L This lamb is something special sired by Pinot the highest Index ram offered for sale from Palinges station in Dam was imported from famous D14 flock as a ewe lamb. Scanned XXmm Muscle with XXXmm Fat. This lamb is a complete outcross for Irish and UK flocks. Lamb is 4 Stars Replacement and 3 Stars Terminal with LambPlus, but his figures have low accuracy at the moment and we would expect them to increase significantly.

5 Stock Rams Rockvilla Oscar 14VV01335 Sire: Loanhead Nashville Dam Sire: Hondu Investigator Purchased from the Rockvilla flock at the Dungannon sale jointly with the Deerpark A3 flock prior to their dispersal. Oscar has exceeded all our expectations clicking exceptionally well with our ewes, especially daughters of Zanardi. Oscar s figures have grown continuously on LambPlus as more offspring go into the system. Currently he stands in Top 2% Terminal with a huge accuracy and a massive days to slaughter which is Top 1% with an accuracy of 65%. Two ewe lambs and one ram lamb offered for sale this year are by him. We lost Oscar in an accident this year and as no semen has been retained this is the last chance to purchase his genetics. Pinot Sire: W Dam Sire: F Pinot is the first French addition to the Kilconnor Flock purchased at the 2015 Palinges Station sale. He is from the very successful S18 flock of Gaec Chapelot, a brother was the highest index ram entered into the test centres in 2015 and has been hugely successful since entering the AI stations. Pinot was the highest Index ram offered for sale on the day (Index 70) and is by the very successful French AI station ram W2 1009, whose station reference is B2478. Pinot is a huge ram and we actually sold all his sons privately prior to the premier last year. One son a full brother of the lamb offered today is standing as a stock ram within the flock.
