3 Art Library Installation Instructions Welcome to the Art Library for WORD WRITER! With the addition of the graphics shown in the pages that follow, you have greatly enhanced your printing capability. Now you can easily add illustra tions to all your documents. The Art Library expands your ability to add graphic elements to your documents, lending them a professional appearance. Each of the graphics are illustrated here, with the graphic file name just as you'll type it. Below each graphic is its height and width in dots. When adding illustrations to a document, you must tell WORD WRITER to leave space for the graphic, or your text will print over it. The height and width measurements need to be converted to vertical text lines and horizontal tenths of inches, like your text. We've in cluded two charts and instructions to make the conversions easy. Remember, you must be in font mode to print graphics in WORD WRITER. Be sure the graphic files are on your WORK disk with your fonts and printer driver. You can use WORD WRITER'S INSTALL program to copy these files to your WORK disk. For details on adding art to your documents, see the step-by-step examples with the conversion tables on the following pages, and the Graphics section of Chapter of your WORD WRITER users manual.

Height of Graphic (in dots): The height of each graphic is measured in dots. A dot is the smallest element your printer can print. This chart converts the graphic height in dots into the number of vertical text lines required to print the graphic within your document. II. Font Size: The font sizes are in points. Select the font size you are using through the section of your document where you want the graphic to appear. III. Conversion: Locate the height of your graphic (in dots) along the left side of the chart. Locate the font size you are using across the top of the chart. Where the two intersect you will find the number of vertical text lines you must leave in your document to accommodate the height of the graphic.

Width of Graphic (in dots): The width of each graphic is measured in dots. This chart indicates the width of each graphic in tenths of an inch, and for each type of printer. II. Graphic Print Width: The graphic print width is measured in tenths of an inch, just like your text margins. As shown in the chart, Commodore printers print twice as wide as Epson printers. Epson printers with GEOS drivers fall in between. III. Conversion: Find the width of your graphic from the left side of the chart. Select the printer type you have installed. The number indicates the graphic print width in tenths of an inch. To use the print width value, make sure your margins are set at the default position (Vm 0,60 - left margin set at 0 with a line length of 60). Each graphic can be placed on a line by itself, or text can be placed either to the right or to the left of the graphic. Due to the capacity limitations of the Commo dore, graphics can not be placed in the center of text or have text running around the graphic. No more than one graphic can occupy the same horizontal space on a page. To place your graphic to the left of your text, use the following steps:. Set your graphic margin the same as your left text margin (Vg,0,n,graphic.pic).. Increase your left text margin by the print width of the graphic. If the graphic has a print width of, add to your left text margin position number of 0 (Vm,,60).. Reduce your Line length by the print width of the graphic (Vm,,). To place your graphic to the right of your text, use the following steps:. Reduce your line length by the print width of the graphic (Vm,0,).. Set the graphic margin to the total of your left text margin plus your new line length (Vg,6,n,graphic.pic). These steps are described in the User's Manual.

19 TTMEWORKS UCENSE AGREEMENT SINGLE USER PRODUCTS-This is a license agreement. This document sets forth the terms and conditions of the license, between you and Timeworks, Inc. By breaking the seal on the disk pack, you accept the terms of this Agreement. If you do NOT accept this Agreement, please return the disk pack, unopened, along with the rest of the package contents, immediately to the party from whom it was acquired for a full refund. TIMEWORKS SOFTWARE UCENSE. LICENSE GRANT Timeworks grants to you the right to use one copy of the Timeworks software program (the "PROGRAM") on a single computer work station. The PROGRAM cannot be pooled, shared among or between multiple computers through networking or other similar communication programs. Each computer is required to have its own copy of the Timeworks PROGRAM.. COFYRIGHT-The PROGRAM is owned by Timeworks or its suppliers and it's protected by United States copyright laws and international treaty provisions. Therefore, you must treat the PROGRAM like any other copyrighted material (e.g., a book or musical record ing) except that you may either (a) make one copy of the PROGRAM solely for back-up or archival purposes, or (b) to transfer the PROGRAM to a single hard disk provided that you keep the original solely for back-up purposes. You may NOT copy the written materials that accompany the program.. OTHER RESTRICTIONS-You may NOT rent or lease the PROGRAM, but you may trans fer the PROGRAM and accompanying written materials on a permanent basis provided you retain no copies and the recipient agrees to the terms of this Agreement. You may NOT reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the PROGRAM.. DUAL MEDIA-If the PROGRAM package contains both V and V» disks, then you may use only the disks appropriate for your single-user computer. You may NOT use the other disks on another computer or loan, rent, lease, or transfer them to another user except as part of the permanent transfer (as provided above) of all PROGRAM and written materials. LIMITED WARRANTY. LIMITED WARRANTY-Timeworks warrants that the PROGRAM will reasonably per form in accordance with the accompanying written materials for a period of (90) days from the date of receipt. Any implied warranties on the PROGRAM are limited to (90) days. Timeworks does NOT warrant that the functions contained in this PROGRAM will meet your requirements, or that the operation of the PROGRAM will be uninterrupted or error free. Some states do NOT allow limitations on implied warranties, so the above limitation may NOT apply to you.. CUSTOMER REMEDIES-Tlmeworks's entire liability and your exclusive remedy shall be, at Timeworks' option, either (a) return of the price paid or (b) repair or replacement of the PROGRAM that does NOT meet Timeworks' Limited Warranty and which is returned to Timeworks with a copy of your receipt. This Limited Warranty is void if failure of the PROGRAM resulted from accident, abuse, or misapplication. In no event shall Timeworks' liability shall exceed the total amount of the purchase price/license fee actually paid by you for the use of this PROGRAM..
