All animals / insects loaded into secure containers prior to transport into the LandRover. All animals stacked together within custom built Employee secure containers or appropriate cage for transport in Monitor LandRover. All carried out under the direct supervision of trained staff. Vehicle will be locked at all times when not under direct supervision. 2 Driving to and from venue vehicle collision Minor allergies / irritations / escape on animals Animals stored in secure containers. Containers secured to the Employee rear of the vehicle to prevent movement during transit. Vehicle Monitor branded to highlight transport of animals. 3 Arrival and setup Animal escape/ bites / stings Minor allergies / irritations Vehicle will be locked at all times when left unattended. Staff will transport all animals to the display area. Area of display is Employee secure with closable door and provided with hand washing Wash hands after contact with antiseptic facilities. Display area is clean and tidy with sufficient floor soap. space to conduct display. Display is set up using custom built display bench which will contain the animals to be displayed and materials required. 4 Handling sessions Minor bites, scrapes Cuts, abrasions children No eating or drinking is allowed during handling sessions. All children will be fully briefed on the handling sessions and informed on any dangers posed by the animals. All children will be instructed to sit still and only come up for handling sessions one at a time. All children must wash hands before and after each handling session with antibacterial hand wash. Children will be instructed not to stress any of the animals. The member of staff in charge establishes themselves, as the person in charge, and emphasises the need for quietness and order. Wash hands before and after contact with antiseptic soap. 6 General Handling Only animals used to handling sessions will be used within any school visits. Animals will be selected for their passive behaviour. Any handling session will be conducted with handler directly beside animal, controlling session and animal at all times when allowing persons to handle animals. The handling session will end if any sign of distress is seen either with the pupil or the animal. 0 0

Slight risk of salmonella. Food poisoning symptoms. handled. Snakes are cleaned before and after handling. All persons handling animal instructed to clean hands with appropriate antiseptic hand wash. Persons only allowed to he handling experience to continue. 8 Chilean Rose Tarantula May bite and kick irritant hairs if provoked. Painful bite (equivalent to bee sting), anaphylactic shock, irritation to skin Animal will only bite if directly threatened. Animal held within a secure locked glass cage unless being handled. All persons handling animal instructed to clean hands with appropriate antiseptic hand wash. Persons only allowed to handle animal under the direct supervision of designated staff. If any misbehaving is witnessed or anticipated staff will not allow the handling experience to continue. Children will be instructed to hold out their hand on the desk. The handler will then place their hand over their hand effectively controlling the child in case of any sudden movement. The animal will then be able to crawl over the Child's hand and then picked up by the handler. Staff trained in first aid in the event of an emergency Antiseptic cream to be applied to bite. 9 Horsefield Tortoise Nip skin Minor Cut Employee/ public he handling experience to continue.

Minimal loss to business process, some extra work created 2 Slightly Harmful - Nuisance, slow work process, no first aid treatment required 3 Minor Injury - Minimum safety risk (minor injury). Minor loss to business process, minor cuts, burns, abrasions, resolved by cleaning, first aider or rest 4 Harmful - Cuts, burns requiring hospital treatment. Minor breaks, such as fingers, toes or strains requiring time off 5 Major Injury - Major injury requiring immediate hospital treatment, breaks of bones other than fingers / toes. Significant loss to business process. 6 Extremely Harmful - Single fatality, substantial loss to business process 7 Multiple significant injuries / fatalities - Catastrophic loss to business process
