2 BULLDOG RESCUE & REHOMING ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There has been an official bulldog rescue since October 1978, but references to a rehoming service can be traced much further back to the late 1960s. Bulldog Rescue and Rehoming in its current form has been established since April 2001 and registered as a UK charity since We operate on a small network of staff and volunteers helping approximately 200 bulldogs every year. We would like to welcome you to our 17 th Annual Event and suggest you leave your men at the beer wagon, your kids on the bouncy castle and take this opportunity to spend your money on the various stalls make sure you give Marshall a snog on the way round. For the first time we are opening our Bulldog Picnic to other Bulldog organisations, not only have we got the wonderful French Bulldog Rescue UK people here but also a relatively new arrival to the Bulldog Welfare platform The Edward Foundation.. We would very much like to welcome both organisations and take this opportunity to show the world that working for the love of Bulldogs is our only agenda. FRENCH BULLDOG RESCUE UK: Welcome to FBRGB we are a non profit organisation run by three volunteers Karen, Paulette and Rachel who are also all members of French Bulldog Club of England. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home French Bulldogs in need from private rescue groups, and owners here in Great Britain. (We did start off with dogs predominately being rescued from Spain but we have now decided to concentrate on the UK due to the number of referrals we are receiving) All the dogs are neutered and our goal is to place healthy and happy French Bulldogs into well-matched, carefully screened forever homes. 3 We are very pleased to welcome FBRGB to our event and hope you will give them a warm welcome THE EDWARD FOUNDATION: The Edward Foundation is a charity that helps 'at risk' bulldogs being sold as a commodity on the internet. Bulldogs that are being used for their monetary value with no thought for their physical or mental welfare. The Edward Foundation differs from Bulldog Rescue inasmuch as they are able to buy these dogs in order to break their cycle of abuse, they are then placed in foster homes, their medical needs met, neutered/spayed when possible and found loving family homes. De Randall Started following a joint venture involving the infamous Edward, the Edward Foundation are able to cover an aspect of Bulldog Rescue that we would never reach and purchase the risk. Leaving the general rehoming work to us they plug a very important gap in the world of Bulldog Welfare; and may I add it s a gap they have plugged incredibly well having saved numerous bulldogs from a life of misery in the process. Please make them feel welcome; we are honoured to have them here today It is important that you keep your dog on Its lead at all times. If you need assistance throughout the course of the afternoon please ask any of our volunteers who can be identified by their green shirts. Does Your Dog Need A Yellow Ribbon? Dog s with yellow ribbons on their leads need space, please do not let your dog approach a dog wearing a yellow ribbon YOUR DOG MUST BE ON A LEAD AT ALL TIMES Please pick up after your dog

Permission to use the green is granted on an annual basis by the local Parish Council so please look after it to ensure we can use it next year! 5 A quiet area has been designated inside the hall for dogs that are stressed and there are water bowls around the area for your dog to use. HUMAN AND CANINE FIRST AIDERS ARE AVAILABLE ON SITE If you need assistance please ask for them to be paged by going to the blue gazebo FOOD Hot and Cold Food is available inside the hall as well as teas, coffees, cold drinks and cream teas Thanks to Teresa & the Girls and Maggie for again providing the food We have canine first aid cover on site in the event of overheating dog fights stress and minor emergencies. IN AN EXTREME EMERGENCY THE NEAREST VET IS: Downlands Vets, Chichester Owners are responsible for their own vet bills

(Sadly we cannot discuss rehoming or applications in the clinic due to the time constraints, please us anything you wish to know about the rescue separately) There will be a general Q&A session at the Bulldog Clinic between 1pm and 2pm so please feel free to bring your dog over to say hi

8 One of the highlights of the Bulldog Picnic is the Rescue parade, dogs from across the country that find themselves in their second or more home tell their stories and show where the donations go. If you have a rescue Bulldog (it doesn t necessarily have to be from BDR) you can enter him free of charge.
