2 NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS ALL EVENTS REFUNDS for cancellations due to judge change or cancellations made prior to entries closing will be mailed by the Club to said Exhibitor or Agent AFTER THE SHOW. An administrative fee of $5.00 will be withheld from all refunds for entries cancelled prior to the closing of entries. Females in season are not permitted to compete in Obedience or Rally Trials. If a female is withdrawn from competition because it came into season and the Superintendent is notified no later than one half hour prior to the start of the first class in the trial, the Clubs is required to refund the entry fee. The Clubs may retain a processing fee and must publish this information in the premium. Clubs may determine the documentation, if any that is required to confirm the female is in season. This shall be stated in the premium. Note: No fee is paid to the AKC for females in season who are withdrawn. Entry fees shall NOT be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, sick, lame, excused by the Judge or Veterinarian, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee, or because it has been entered incorrectly. There is no refund for DUPLICATE ENTRIES or OVERPAYMENTS. If, because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open, or to complete the Show NO REFUND will be made. To find out about any AKC event cancellations call the AKC Event Cancellation Hotline Please note: Any hotel or motel listed in the premium list is subject to Event Committee Rules. We expect our exhibitors to be responsible guests. A report that an exhibitor at this show has abused hotel or motel property during this weekend may result in disciplinary action. Clubs reserve the right to decline future entries from the offending party in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 11, Section 15 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows. Only dogs eligible for these shows will be admitted into the show area. There is no provision for unentered dogs. LOSS OR DAMAGE The Show Committee will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, or assume any liability in the event of any accident or misfortune, to either dogs or exhibitors participating in these Shows. The welfare of an Exhibitor s child is assumed to be the responsibility of the Exhibitor. It is distinctly understood that Exhibitors will exercise control and restraint over their children. Exhibitors should follow their veterinarians recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations. ALL RIGHTS TO TELEVISE, VIDEOTAPE, ADVERTISE, PHOTOGRAPH, PROMOTE or otherwise exploit this event are vested in the Club, or in persons to whom assignments of such rights have been made in writing by the Club. All persons and animals on the Show Grounds at any time while the show is in progress, do by attending this show or participating therein, grant to the Club the right to photograph, televise, videotape, audiotape or otherwise use their likeness and voice in any manner without further release or consent. In addition, no aggression reinstatement procedures will be performed at these shows. TRANSFER OF ENTRIES NOTE: TRANSFER OF ENTRIES AND REQUESTS FOR REFUNDS FOR PUBLISHED JUDGE CHANGES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED IN THE OFFICE AFTER 12:00 NOON ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 15. AFTER THIS TIME, YOU MUST CONTACT THE SUPERINTENDENT ON SITE. CONFORMATION: Dogs may be transferred from one of the regular classes to the Best of Breed or Variety competition, provided this transfer is presented to the Superintendent at least one half-hour prior to the scheduled start of any regular conformation judging at the show. JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP: Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class with competition, if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open, after closing of entries for a show are required to transfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class by notifying the Superintendent at least one-half hour prior to the scheduled start of Junior Showmanship juding at the show. Correction may be made from one age division to another, provided this transfer must be made to the Superintendent at least one half-hour prior to the judging of any Junior Showmanship class at the show. OBEDIENCE OR RALLY: A transfer (i.e., from an obedience class to an obedience class; or a rally class to a rally class) may be requested if, according to the owner s records the handler and dog are eligible provided the club offers transfers. Transfers from an A to B class at the same level are allowed provided the host club allows transfers. The request for a transfer must be in writing and presented to the superintendent or trial secretary at least 30 minutes prior to the start of each trial. Clubs may choose to accept transfers prior to the day of the trial and this should be clearly stated in the premium list. Transfers may be approved provided the class and judge are available, and the class has not reached its limit OLYMPIC KENNEL CLUB 3

4 JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP COMPETITION NOVICE CLASS: For boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class. A first place in Novice without competition leading to a Best Junior award with competition would count as one win towards moving to Open at a licensed or member show. OPEN CLASS: For boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show, and who have won three first place awards in a Novice Class or if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open in a licensed or member show. Juniors which according to their records have completed the requirements to compete in the Open class but whose status is unconfirmed by the American Kennel Club are limited to competing in the Open Class for a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the Junior completed the requirements according to their records. MASTER CLASS: This class will be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have 10 Best Junior wins with competition. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC National Championship. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to compete for the following year. NOVICE AND OPEN CLASS DIVIDED: Junior-9 years old and under 12 years old on the day of the show; Intermediate-12 years old and under 15 years old on the day of the show; Senior-15 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show. After the judge has awarded the Best Junior Handler, the second place winner from the class that the Junior was awarded Best Junior Handler is to return to the ring to compete for Reserve Best Junior Handler. NOTICE: Junior Handlers must include their AKC JUNIOR HANDLER NUMBER on each entry. You may obtain your junior identification number by calling the AKC, Judges Education Department, BE SURE ALL INFORMATION for Junior Showmanship Classes is entered on front and back of entry form. NOTE: SUBSTITUTION OF DOG IN JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP AT THE SHOW(S): There will be an Administration Fee of $5.00 charged for any substitution of dog in Junior Showmanship at each show. In addition, if the dog originally entered in Jr. Showmanship was an additional entry, and the dog being substituted is not otherwise entered in the show, the Junior Showmanship Only fee applies. 4 OLYMPIC KENNEL CLUB 2018 USE OF RAMPS ALL BREEDS A judge requesting the use of a ramp must give notice to the show superintendent/show secretary prior to judging. AKC approval is not required. The entire entry in a breed is to be examined in the same manner (ground, table, or ramp). At the discretion of the judge, the following breeds may be judged on the ground or on a ramp through all levels of competition including Group and Best in Show judging: Lagotto Romagnolo, American Water Spaniels, Clumber Spaniels, English Springer Spaniels, Field Spaniels, Welsh Springer Spaniels, Cirneco dell Etnas, American Staffordshire Terriers, Irish Terriers, Kerry Blue Terriers, Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Finnish Spitz, Keeshonden, Entlebucher Mountain Dogs, Finnish Lapphunds, Norwegian Buhunds, Polish Lowland Sheepdogs, Spanish Water Dogs, and Norrbottenspets (Misc.). At the discretion of the judge through all levels of competition including Group and Best in Show judging, the following breeds may be judged on the ground, a ramp, or on a table: Boykin Spaniels and Whippets. The following breeds must be judged on a ramp through all levels of conformation competition: Sussex Spaniels, Basset Hounds, Bulldogs, Chinese Shar-Pei and Chow Chows. This extends to all conformation competition at AKC conformation dog shows and any AKC event where a conformation title may be earned. This policy includes Group, BIS, Junior Showmanship, the 4 6 Month Beginner Puppy Competition, the AKC National Owner-Handled Series (NOHS), and all other special attractions that offer Group and BIS competitions. Ramps can be used in emergency situation to judge any breed. In an emergency situation, where use of a ramp is not indicated in the premium list, an exhibitor has the option of withdrawing their entry and receiving a refund. For the judging of juniors the ramp may be used at the discretion of the judge for the ramp optional breeds. (03/2018)

5 AKC NATIONAL OWNER-HANDLED SERIES THE PURPOSE OF THE AKC NATIONAL OWNER-HANDLED SERIES (NOHS) IS TO RECOGNIZE AND SHOWCASE THE QUALITY DOGS BEING EXHIBITED BY OWNER/HANDLERS AND TO PROVIDE A VENUE FOR THE OWNER/HANDLERS TO COMPETE AGAINST THEIR PEERS. THE DETERMINATION OF THE AWARDS IN THE AKC NATIONAL OWNER-HANDLED SERIES IS BASED SOLELY ON THE QUALITY OF THE ENTRY. THE OWNER/HANDLER S HANDLING ABILITY IS NOT OF CONSIDERATION. Dog must be marked as eligible to compete in the AKC NOHS prior to the closing of entries. There is no additional fee to enter this competition. Dogs must be handled by an eligible owner/handler for the AKC NOHS throughout the breed level (all classes, Winners, and Best of Breed) competition. Additionally, dogs must be handled by an eligible owner/handler for all AKC National Owner-Handled Series competition (Group and Best in Show). Any person may exhibit the dog in the regular Group and Best in Show competitions. Exhibitors must declare their dog AKC National Owner-Handled Series eligible at the time of entry using the check box on the entry form. The handler must be an owner of record according to the AKC s records as of the date of the show. Dogs declared eligible will be identified by an asterisk or other representative mark in the judge s book, steward s book, and the show catalog. *Professional handlers, household members and current assistants to professional handlers may not exhibit. The Owner-Handled Best of Breed will be selected from the eligible dogs that competed in the Best of Breed/Variety competition for the regular show. This includes Winners Dog, Winners Bitch, and the undefeated winners of the non-regular classes. This excludes all dogs defeated during class and winners competition for the regular show. *Professional handler is defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay within the last five years. Eligibility restrictions apply to all members of the same household. Household members and current assistants to professional handlers in conformation are not eligible to exhibit in this competition. A current assistant is defined as anyone employed by a professional handler on a full-time basis, or assisting a professional handler at the show or any show during the cluster/weekend. 7 ATTENTION OBEDIENCE EXHIBITORS Due to limited crating space in the Obedience/Rally building, OKC will offer additional covered crating adjacent to the building. If you crate in the building, please be respectful of other exhibitors and remove your crate when your competition is completed. EXHIBITORS PLEASE NOTE If it is necessary to rescue a dog from a parked vehicle on the show grounds or in the parking area, the club will not be responsible or liable for any damage to the vehicle involved. ATTENTION EXHIBITORS The Show Site will be available to exhibitors at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, August 15, Dogs must be removed from the show site immediately following Best in Show judging on Sunday, August 19, LOADING & UNLOADING - Reserved Grooming will be in the Livestock Building located at the northeast corner of the grounds. Access to the Livestock Building will be off 284th Ave SE - follow signs. POWER OUTLETS - Use of ALL power outlets is at user s own risk. No practicing allowed in rings at any time. No dogs to be left overnight in Reserved or Non-Reserved grooming buildings. Free Day Grooming is available on a first come, first served basis & is located in the Horse Barn. All equipment must be removed at the end of each day. Each exhibitor is responsible for cleaning up after his own dog(s). Pooper-scoopers will be placed around the show grounds for your convenience. If your dog soils in the show ring, the ring steward will hold your dog while YOU do the clean up. A pooper-scooper will be placed outside each ring. Responsible dog owners will clean up after their dog(s). PARENTS SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR CHILDREN AT ALL TIMES! NO SKATEBOARDS, ROLLERBLADES, SCOOTERS OR BIKES WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE SHOW GROUNDS DURING SHOW HOURS NO UNAUTHORIZED USE OF MOTORIZED VEHICLES ON SHOW GROUNDS DURING SHOW HOURS. Grooming and exercise pens in DESIGNATED AREAS ONLY. Crates may be brought to ringside during breed judging and must be removed immediately when judging for that breed is over. NO GROOMING OR SMOKING UNDER SHADE TENTS IN AISLES. ALL CRATES MUST BE REMOVED FROM RINGSIDE AND FROM UNDER SHADE TENTS 15 MINUTES AFTER SHOWING. 8 PARKING INFORMATION PLEASE CAREFULLY REVIEW THE PARKING INFORMATION BELOW. GENERAL INFORMATION All parking is a privilege extended by Olympic Kennel Club and the Enumclaw Expo Center. Any arguing, abusive language or failure to follow the rules, regulations or instructions of the club or parking personnel will cause you to be escorted from the show site, forfeit all parking privileges without refund of fees and possible discipline by the Event Committee. All parking is at user s own risk. Olympic Kennel Club and Enumclaw Expo Center assume no responsibility or liability for damages or loss to any vehicle or its cargo. Everyone using this facility is expected to keep and leave the area clean. Limited handicap parking (with a valid permit) is available in the general parking areas. These spaces will have easy access but may be some distance from the show rings. All vehicles must vacate the premises no later than one hour following Best In Show Sunday, August 19, No vending in parking areas without a permit. All parking fees must be paid in U.S. funds. FIRE LANES MUST BE KEPT CLEAR AT ALL TIMES. Vehicles subject to towing at owner s expense with no prior notification. LOADING & UNLOADING Reserved grooming is in the Livestock Building located at the northeast corner of the grounds. Free day grooming is in the Horse Barn located southeast of the Livestock Building. Vehicle access to both buildings will be off 284th Avenue SE follow signs. Unloading will begin at 2:00pm Wednesday, August 15, All loading and unloading will be supervised and a time limit per vehicle will be observed to give as many exhibitors as possible access to the grooming buildings. USE OF ALL POWER OUTLETS IS AT USER S OWN RISK. ELECTRICITY IS LIMITED AND NOT GUARANTEED NO DOGS MAY BE LEFT OVERNIGHT IN THE GROOMING BUILDING. GENERAL PARKING General parking is available daily in the north and south parking lots beginning at 6:00am. The parking fee is $5.00 per day. Pay at Gate. No exercise pens, set-ups or overnight parking in general parking areas. Vehicles illegally parked may be towed at owner s expense with no prior notification. OVERNIGHT RESERVED PARKING Reservations are closed. Fees at the gate for those without a reservation CASH ONLY. Pricing per night by length: 40 feet=$50, 50 feet=$60, 60 feet=$70. All reserved parking must check in at the SOUTH parking lot. Reserved parking will be available 2:00pm Wednesday, August 15, MAIN GATES WILL CLOSE NIGHTLY AT 11:00 pm. ALL OTHER GATES WILL CLOSE AT 8:00 pm. Assignment of spaces will be made according to size and dimension of vehicle for best use of the parking space available. With the belief that it is useful to periodically articulate the fundamentals of our sport, this code is presented. Sportsmen respect the history, traditions and integrity of the sport of purebred dogs. Sportsmen commit themselves to values of fair play, honesty, courtesy, and vigorous competition, as well as winning and losing with grace. Sportsmen refuse to compromise their commitment and obligation to the sport of purebred dogs by injecting personal advantage or consideration into their decisions or behavior. The sportsman judge judges only on the merits of the dogs and considers no other factors. The sportsman judge or exhibitor accepts constructive criticism. The sportsman exhibitor declines to enter or exhibit under a judge where it might reasonably appear that the judge s placements could be based on something other than the merits of the dogs. The sportsman exhibitor refuses to compromise the impartiality of a judge. The sportsman respects the AKC bylaws, rules, regulations and policies governing the sport of purebred dogs. Sportsmen find that vigorous competition and civility are not inconsistent and are able to appreciate the merit of their competition and the effort of competitors. Sportsmen welcome, encourage and support newcomers to the sport. Sportsmen will deal fairly with all those who trade with them. Sportsmen are willing to share honest and open appraisals of both the strengths and weaknesses of their breeding stock. Sportsmen spurn any opportunity to take personal advantage of positions offered or bestowed upon them. Sportsmen always consider as paramount the welfare of their dog.
