Any refunds will be made in Canadian Funds from the Show giving Club. ATTENTION FOREIGN EXHIBITORS Please note that fees are due and payable in Canadian dollars. Due to consistently fluctuating currency rates, discounted cheques will not be accepted. Personal cheques will be accepted, however, they are to be payable in Canadian funds. If you send a cheque in US funds, it must be made out for the full amount of the entry and no exchange will be refunded to the exhibitor. Please do not mark cheques Payable in Canadian Funds or At Par. They will not be cleared by the banks. 5 ZERO TOLERANCE Any individual initiating bullying tactics at the Ontario Breeders Association Shows will be asked to leave the show grounds premises immediately and for the remainder of the event (no refunds). A report will be filed with CKC and the Disciplinary Committee shall have the authority to take such action as it deems fit. Definition of Bullying: Refers to a range of behaviors in which targeted individuals are repeatedly, and over time, treated in a mean, insulting or abusive way. Bullying can be initiated deliberately or unconsciously. The affected person may feel upset, afraid, isolated, or humiliated. The bully sometimes acts alone and sometimes as part of a group of people. Examples include: insulting a person's skills, looks, or habits spreading false or malicious rumors, gossip, or innuendo berating/belittling an individual unwarranted criticizing or ridiculing, especially in the presence of others giving insulting nicknames engaging in practical jokes that humiliate undermining or deliberately impeding a person's work physical gesturing that intimidates, offends, degrades, or humiliates mocking a person's accent, abilities or mannerisms yelling or shouting which intimidates, coerces, or belittles 5

A rosette will be awarded for Best Bred by Exhibitor in each Group. Dogs must be entered in the Bred by Exhibitor class. No Canadian Champions of record may participate. This class is open only to dogs entered in the Bred By class. The Breeder/Co-Breeder & Owner/Co-Owner MUST handle the dog in all classes (including Group level and onward) for all awards, for Best Bred by Exhibitor. There is no additional charge for this competition. Judging in this competition will be held after each official class is completed at the breed and group level by the regular breed judge. 11 NOVICE OWNER / HANDLER COMPETITION (NOH) KARS DOG CLUB ALL BREED SHOW ONLY (SATURDAY & SUNDAY) RULES FOR NOVICE / OWNER / HANDLER COMPETITION *** RESTRICTED TO AMATEUR COMPETITORS WHO HAVE BEEN SHOWING DOGS LESS THAN 5 YEARS Dog must be entered at all 4 All-Breed Shows for eligibility to participate in Novice Owner/Hander & MUST be handled all the way through by Novice Owner/Handler at all levels for the entire event. Baby Puppies are not eligible for this competition 1. Novice Owner / Handler Box must be checked on entry form (NOH will be indicated in both the catalogue and on the Ring Steward sheets.) 2. This is open to all non-professional owner / handlers. Professional defined as anyone who has been hired to assist or help a handler (at the KARS DOG CLUB event) or paid to handle or received remuneration or a licensed / permit judge. Dogs must be NOH throughout the competition. 3. Judging of NOH will take place after Breed Judging Competition unless automatic. 4. NOH, Best of Breed will be selected from the dogs eligible to compete for BB. 5. If the Best of Breed dog is NOH, it will automatically be the NOH BB. 6. If ineligible, then the next highest NOH placement will compete against the eligible dogs of the opposite sex. 7. Should none of the BB competitive dogs be NOH then any NOH dogs (not directly or indirectly defeated in the classes by an NOH dog) will be invited back. 8. The NOH BB dogs will compete for Best NOH in Group immediately after Regular Group Judging. 9. Should the Regular Group 1st dog be NOH then it will be automatically OH in Group. 10. If no NOH places in the Group (1-4) then all BB NOH dogs will be called into the ring for NOH Group Judging. 11. If the BIS dog is NOH, then it will automatically be NOH BIS A flat ribbon will be offered for Best NOH in Breed, a Rosette for Best NOH in Group, and a Rosette and $100 Sponsored by Kars Dog Club, Prize Sponsored by PURINA & Treasure Coast (Saturday & Sunday). for Best NOH in Show. *** If you are a NOVICE OWNER / HANDLER make sure that you check off the box on the entry form in order to be eligible to compete. 11

12 KARS DOG CLUB PERPETUAL TROPHY *Perpetual trophy is retained by the Club. The Severn Trophy for Best Canadian Bred in Show is donated by Owen & Belle Severn, (Merkur reg d and Staffhaven perm reg d.) for dogs from the Canadian Bred class on Saturday. In order to compete for this Trophy, dogs must be entered in the CANADIAN BRED class. Judging of Best Canadian Bred in Show will follow Best in Show and Best Puppy in Show. The Perpetual Trophy will be presented at the end of Show. A keeper trophy and/or prize will be donation to the Best Canadian Bred In Show. VETERAN & ALTERED CLASSES OFFERED SATURDAY & SUNDAY Veteran: In this class, dogs must be 7 years of age and over on the day of the show. Dogs entered in this class may be spayed or neutered. The awards for this class are: Best Male Veteran and Best Female Veteran, Best Veteran in Breed Best Veteran in Group Best Veteran in Show A Veteran awarded Best Veteran in Breed is not required to stay to compete for Best Veteran in Group. A veteran awarded Best Veteran in Group is not required to stay to compete for Best Veteran in Show. Altered: The breed standards for each breed shall be followed except as defined below. All disqualifications shall apply except for those which disallow sexually altered dogs from regular conformation competition. Eligibility for the altered class shall be limited to dogs over 6 months of age which have been spayed or neutered by veterinary procedure. Points may not be carried from the regular competition judging to the Altered class judging. These classes shall be for any spayed or neutered dogs over 6 months of age. Dogs will be judged after the judging of the Best Puppy in Breed in the Regular classes, and after Veteran Classes. The awards for this class are: Winners Altered Male/Female Class Reserve Winners Altered Male/Female Best Altered in Breed Best Altered in Group Best Altered in Show 12

13 JUNIOR HANDLING ZONE 5 FINALS Saturday July 21, 2018 Approx time 11:30 am (to be confirmed on Official Judging Schedule) Please join us in supporting and encouraging these young handlers at this event. Each participant will receive a prize bag donated by Purina Pro Plan. Each 1st in class will receive a gift donated by the Zone 5 Fund. Best Overall will receive a Tack Box donated by Rhoda and Wally Ace. Reserve and Best Aggregate will receive a gift donated by Treasure Coast Pet Products Inc. A keeper trophy will be awarded to the Best Overall Junior, donated by Sqibbs Mercer. All ribbons and rosettes are donated by Thomas E. Nesbitt, CKC Director for zone 5. ** A Pizza party will follow the zone Final for all the participants, sponsored by Thomas E. Nesbitt, CKC Director Zone 5. Cake and ice cream sponsored by Larry and Christine Surtees. CHUCK A DUCK Sunday July 22, during lunch break Buy some Ducks in support of the Zone 5 Juniors. Table will be set up beside the Treasure Coast Pet Products Trailer on Friday and the Juniors will be walking around selling them on Saturday. 14 INDOOR - Dome - GROOMING SPACE pre-reservation Daytime indoor grooming space available for 4 days including electricity (one (1) plug in outlet - no sharing) * 10 x 10 - $40 10 x 20 - $60 Exhibitors will be expected to accept space as assigned and are expected to KEEP THEIR SPACE CLEAN - Reservation as of June 11, ELECTRICITY Day use of electric power (first come first serve basis) for vans and cars is available at $20 per day - one plug in outlet (no sharing). CAMPING Exhibitors will be expected to accept space as assigned and are expected to KEEP THEIR SPACE CLEAN - Reservation as of June 11, The camping designate will be in complete control of the trailer parking and your co-operation is appreciated. Flat rate of $200 per site - One plug in outlet (no sharing) *No overnight camping on Sunday evening! Shared water hook-ups. Dumping Station on site available. No refunds once the show entries close. Reservations after closing date are subject to additional charged a $20 late fee. RINGSIDE SHADE TENTS Ringside Shade Tents in designated area only; Ringside Shade Tents are required to be pined down at all times. No Grooming allowed in Ringside Shade Tents; and No moving around of tents while the show in progress! Should non respect of these rules, you will be asked to remove your tent from the show precincts. OUTDOOR (unsheltered) DAYTIME GROOMING AREA There will be a designated area for Daytime Grooming. Day use of electric power is available at $20 per day - one plug in outlet (no sharing). 14

15 CHAMPIONS & CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS SECTION 1: A dog awarded WINNERS at a championship show held under these Dog Show Rules shall be credited with a number of championship points (ranging from 0 to 5) and the determination of the number of championship points to be credited to a dog awarded WINNERS shall be as provided hereunder. SECTION 2: The schedule to be employed in the determination of the number of points to be allocated a dog awarded WINNERS shall be as follows: Dogs Competing: or more POINTS ALLOCATED* *Includes the dog awarded WINNERS To determine the numbers of championship points earned by a dog awarded WINNERS total all the dogs in competition which the dog defeated, directly or indirectly, for the highest of the following official breed awards: Winners, Best of Winners, Best of Breed or Best of Opposite Sex and then consult the schedule set forth above. The new system provides for additional points (provided that the dog has defeated another as listed hereunder: BREEDS COMPETING AT GROUP LEVEL: Placed: FIRST SECOND THIRD FOURTH 13 or more Breeds to 12 Breeds to 9 Breeds Breeds Breeds Breeds Breeds Breed A class dog awarded Best in Show at an all-breed championship show will be credited with five points inclusive of any points earned at the breed or group level. In no case, may a dog earn more than five points at any single show. To obtain an ERN simply do the following: ATTENTION ALL FOREIGN EXHIBITORS Send a photocopy of the dog's registration certificate reflecting current ownership - with a written request for an ERN. 17 GENERAL INFORMATION 1. The Club and Diana Edwards Show Services will not be responsible of cash sent through the mail. 2. Returned cheques do not constitute a valid entry fee. A collection fee of $35.00 will be added by Kars Dog Club in addition to any bank charges for each returned cheque. 3. There is no refund for duplicate entries. Every effort will be made to find all duplicate entries, however if the entry has been processed and appears in the official catalogue, no refund will be made. 4. Entry fees shall not be refunded in the event that the dog is absent, excused by a Veterinarian or Judge, disqualified or barred from competition by action of the bench Committee. 5. If because of riot, civil disturbance or acts of God, it is impossible to open or complete the show, no refund of entries shall be made. 6. Exhibitors must abide by errors made in entering their dogs, regardless of how or by whom the entries were made. Change or cancellation of any entry after closing time is prohibited. 7. The Club reserves the right to refuse any entry subject to CKC rules. 8. Dogs may arrive any time prior to their scheduled time of Judging. Dogs not required for further judging will be excused. Judges will not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners/Agents are responsible to have their dogs present when their classes are called to be judged. 9. Exhibitors are requested to keep their grooming and crating areas clean and tidy. If space is at a premium, exhibitors must remove exercise pens if requested by the Show Superintendent. 10. It shall be the duty and obligation of the show giving club to ensure that a judge is not subject to indignities. The Conformation Show Committee shall promptly report to the CKC any infringement of this regulation, and the Discipline Committee shall have the authority to such action as it deems fit on receipt of a report indicating that this has occurred. 11. The Kars Dog Club will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors but will not be responsible for or assume liability in the event of accident, or other misfortunes to dogs, exhibitors or patrons 12. The Show Superintendent will be in complete charge of the show, which will be governed by CKC rules. NON-MEMBER PARTICIPATION FEE The Non-Member Participation Fee applies to dogs wholly owned by a resident of Canada who is not a member of the CKC; it is not applicable to CKC members or dogs co-owned with a CKC member. In order for the title to be awarded, the non-member will have a choice to either become a CKC member or pay the Non-Member Participation Fee. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will result in the title being withheld and the dog cannot be moved up to the next level. The Non-Member Participation Fee is fee paid in the calendar year (January December) in which the dog achieved its title and/or titles.
