9 SUMMARY Rabies continues to persist in particular areas in Asia. It continues to be more predominant in domestic animals than in wildlife. As compared to the year prior, there are fewer reported cases in The risk for spread persists and continues to be a reality in the region. Prompt reporting is further encouraged to continue to: o Determine trends o Assess and manage rabies risks o Detect changes in epidemiology o Determine impact of interventions o Monitor progress on the global call to eliminate dog-mediated rabies by
