5 NON REGULAR CLASSES INVOLVING SINGLE DOG ENTRIES VETERAN CLASSES Class for dogs and class for bitches who are over 7 years of age (Not divided by color) HUNTING RETRIEVER Class for dogs and class for bitches who have earned an AKC Hunting Title (Not divided by color) BEST OF BREED COMPETITION NON REGULAR CLASSES INVOLVING MULTIPLE DOG ENTRIES STUD DOG CLASS For Stud Dogs and two of their Get. Stud Dogs must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and shown in the ring with his Get. Owner of the Stud Dog need not be the owner of the Get. Awards will be based on merits of the two Get. Get must be individually entered in one of the regular breed classes in this show for which it is eligible. Entry fee is $ Castrated males may be entered as Stud Dog in the Stud Dog Class. BROOD BITCH CLASS For Brood Bitches and two of their Get. Brood Bitches must be entered in the Brood Bitch Class and shown in the ring with her Get. Owner of the Brood Bitch need not be the owner of the Get. Award will be based on merits of the two Get. Get must be individually entered in one of the regular breed classes in this show for which it is eligible. Entry fee is $ Spayed females may be entered as Brood Bitch in the Brood Bitch Class. BRACE CLASS Two Labrador Retrievers and must have at least one common owner and be Presented by a maximum of two handlers. All braces must be entered in the Brace Class and shown in the ring at the same time. Each dog must be individually entered in one of the regular breed classes for which an entry fee is required. Entry fee is $20.00 for the Brace Unit. TEAM CLASS Four Labrador Retrievers and must have at least one common owner and presented by a maximum of four handlers. All braces must be entered in the Brace Class and shown in the ring at the same time. Each dog must be individually entered in one of the regular breed classes for which an entry fee is required. Entry fee is $20.00 for the Team Unit. As the judge s decision in the Stud Dog, Brood Bitch, Brace or Team Classes will be based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in the class will be eligible for Best of Breed by virtue of having won these classes.

6 SWEEPSTAKES The Sweepstakes is open to all Labrador Retrievers who are 6 months and under 18 months of age on the date of the show. Dogs entered in Sweepstakes must also be entered in one of the regular breed classes at this show. Indicate Sweepstakes and age division on the regular entry form under Additional Classes. Entry fee is $ Classes are divided by color: Black, Yellow and Chocolate. All Class Winners will compete for Best in Sweepstakes and Best of Opposite Sex to Best in Sweepstakes. 8 CHALLENGE TROPHIES Notice: The Board of The Greater Atlanta Labrador Retriever Club, Inc. has determined that the custody of ALL CHALLENGE TROPHIES shall remain with the Club. In recognition of the winners each year, the year, name of the owner and name of the winning dog shall be engraved on the trophy or on a plaque for display on the club s trophy table at its annual event. For permanent possession of any challenge trophy, the trophy must be won three times by the same owner, not necessarily with the same dog. From the South: I-75 North to I-75/I-85 North to I85 North to 400 North (US-19 North). From the West: I-20 East to I-285 North to 400 North (US-19 North). From any direction, once on GA 400 North: Continue on 400 North to Exit #11 Windward Parkway. Exit onto Windward Parkway (westbound) and continue for approx. 6.5 miles. (NOTE: Windward Parkway changes names to Cogburn Road, and then to Hopewell Road during this six miles). In addition, you will pass through two traffic circles (roundabouts), go half way around the 1 st traffic circle and exit to continue north (Hopewell North). The cost for a full page COLOR ad is $50. One photo and text may be used with a full page ad. All submitted ads should be camera ready. RV s may arrive after 3pm on Friday and must vacate the show grounds by 7pm Sunday evening. 11 NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS EACH SHOW NO JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP OR OBEDIENCE IS OFFERED AT THESE SHOWS. TELEPHONE AND UNSIGNED ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Entries not on official AKC entry forms or photocopies of entry forms without agreement and rules on the reverse side of the official entry forms are not acceptable. PLEASE NOTE EARLY CLOSING DATE!! Entries Close: 12 Noon (Eastern Time) on Friday October 28 th, 2016 at the Show Secretary s Office after which time entries cannot be accepted, canceled, or substituted. ENTRY FEES: $30.00 for the first entry of each dog unless Puppy (under 12 months of age) in which case $ Additional entry of same dog is $ Sweepstakes and Veteran Sweepstakes $ Stud Dog & Brood Bitch $20.00, Brace & Team $20.00 as a unit. Entries for 6-18 Mo. Sweepstakes, Brace/Team, Stud/Brood must also enter Regular Class. Veteran Sweepstakes entrants do not have to enter Regular Classes. An event service fee of $3.00 and a recording fee of $.50 will be required for each dog entered at any AKC Licensed Show. These fees are to be collected by the Show-Giving Club and paid to the American Kennel Club. If a dog is entered in more than one class involving single entries (not including sweepstakes) in a show the Recording fees are to be collected on both entries (AKC Rule Chapter 11, Section 2). MAIL ENTRIES WITH FEES TO: GALRC Show Secretary (Pete & Elizabeth Mayo), 3653 US Highway 601 N, Mocksville, NC Make checks payable to GALRC, Inc.. Canadian Exhibitors make fees payable in US Funds. Entries received without fees will not be accepted. Due to processing costs, no refunds will be made for errors which are less than $ Post dated checks or returned checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. A $50 collection fee will be charged for ALL returned checks. IF YOU OVERNIGHT YOUR ENTRY, PLEASE BE SURE TO SIGN THE SIGNATURE RELEASE OR WAIVE SIGNATURE SO THE PACKAGE WILL BE LEFT IN THE EVENT NO ONE IS HOME. No entry shall be refunded in the event a dog is absent, disqualified, excused or barred from competition by act of the Show Chairman or Show Secretary. If because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open or to complete the show, no refund of entry fees will be made. Extreme weather conditions, such as, but not limited to snow storms, tornadoes, lightning, extreme heat must be considered for the health and safety of the dogs, exhibitors and spectators. The well-being of dogs, exhibitors and spectators is of paramount importance and, in the event it is necessary to stop the show before completion, no refund of entry fee will be made. PLEASE NOTE THE COLOR OF YOUR DOG ON YOUR ENTRY FORM. SHOW HOURS: Grounds will not be open to exhibitors on Friday, November 18 th, except for RV s with pre-paid reservations. Grounds will be open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm Saturday, November 19 th, 2016 and Sunday, November 20 th, Grounds will not be open to exhibitors on Monday, November 21 st. Dogs not required for further judging will be excused. Dogs may arrive any time prior to judging as stated herein. No crates are permitted under the main tent by order of the local fire marshal. Any exhibitor who places a crate under the tent will be asked by either the Show Chairman or Show Secretary to remove it immediately.

12 NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS, CONTD. Prizes: Trophies, Rosettes and prizes will be awarded in the ring to the person exhibiting the dog who shall be considered the owner or agent. All claims for prizes must be made in the judging ring before the completion of judging and the Show Secretary or Show Chairman advised of any discrepancy. Trophies and prizes left at the show site will not be mailed to exhibitors. EXHIBITORS ARE REMINDED TO KEEP THE SHOW AND HOTEL GROUNDS CLEAN. All dogs MUST BE CRATED in a room. Plastic will be available to place under crates at the front desk when you check in. This hotel s accommodations are wonderful and we do not want to risk losing them as a host hotel for future specialty show events. 20 CAININE GOOD CITIZEN TEST The American Kennel Club s Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that is designed to (1) teach responsible dog ownership to owners and (2) certify dogs that have the training & demeanor to be reliable, well-behaved members of their families and communities. The purpose of the Canine Good Citizen Program is to ensure that our favorite companion, the dog, can be a respected member of the community because it is trained and conditioned to act mannerly in the home, in public places and in the presence of other dogs. The Canine Good Citizen Test of your dog s manners and training is not a competition and does not require the owner/handler and dog to perform with precision. Handlers may talk to their dogs throughout the test but cannot offer food or toy. The Canine Good Citizen Test is open to all dogs both registered and unregistered that are 6 months of age or older. All tests must be performed on-leash. Dogs should wear well-fitted buckle or slip collars made of either leather, fabric or chain. Special training collars or devices (e.g. pinch collars or head halters) are NOT permitted. The leash should be made of leather or fabric. Dogs must be healthy, in good condition and clean to pass the test. A dog, whose appearance has been noticeably affected by a medical condition, may pass the test, provided at check-in the owner presents a letter of explanation and release from the dog s veterinarian. 22 This Year We Dedicate Our 21st Annual GALRC Specialty Show To One Of Our Founding Members. James Eugene Jimmy Carroll Feb 21, 1945 July 11, 2016 The GALRC membership has lost a founding member recently, Jim Carroll, "Jimmy". To all that knew him, he was a much beloved founding member of the Greater Atlanta Labrador Retriever Club and a dear friend to the founding members for many, many years. Jimmy passed away on Monday, July 11th. Jimmy had been in failing health for recent years, however, it was always such a treat to see him ringside. He was such a kind hearted person and always had a hello, a smile and a kind word. He made you smile just seeing him. He will be missed greatly by all. Rest in peace Jimmy

23 Today we also remember. Leon George Pergl Sept 23, 1941 Dec 24, 2015 Lee (Jodi Martin s Father), was always there to help out the club once we went independent. He generously lent the club all the tables for the shows, the trailer to haul all our equipment back and forth from the sites and even created the holders for the ring signs that the club uses today. Although he did not own a Labrador, his love of animals showed by always being happy to help out in any way he could. Rest in peace Lee
