1 LRKC Rescue and Re-Homing These dogs are looking for their forever homes. If you are in a position to offer a home or know of anyone who may be interested, please could you pass on these details or contact us on details below. We will also vaccinate each dog should this be necessary. We are also able to offer the services of an animal behaviourist should you need help with the rehoming of a dog. We are able, through very kind sponsorships, to relocate dogs to all parts of the country. Although we do not charge for this re-homing service, any donations will be welcomed as it enables us to continue with our efforts in re-homing Labradors. If you are unable to assist with re-homing but would like to make a donation to Rescue and Rehoming, our bank details are: LRKC FNB Rosebank Acc No: Please use LAB RESCUE as your reference Please consider homing a middle aged dog Bear in mind that Labrador Retrievers have a life span of years. An 8 or 9 year old Labrador is not an ancient dog. It would still have a good 4 5 years, if exercised and fed correctly. Also, an older dog has done its gardening days, has stopped chewing hopefully -, has matured, is not as boisterous as a puppy and is possibly a better choice for very young children as it has patience and will not knock littlies flying or nip while playing. Most dogs this age have had some sort of training so are also a lot more controllable. Thank you for considering homing a Labrador

2 NAME: JORDAN (PORT ALFRED) Jordan is a 18 month old neutered loving gentle boy who is protective and thrives on attention and company. He gets on well with cats, donkeys and other dogs and adores swimming of course! He has hip dysplasia with the right hip worse than the left. He would be a perfect companion to someone who is mostly at home and who can take him out for regular walks. Name: TSHILIDZI (FOURWAYS) Tshilidzi is a 3yr old female who would need to be spayed before re-homing. She is very loving and willing to please. She is quite a small dog. She has had one litter and is purebred with papers and is micro chipped. Very good with children and other dogs but does not like cats. She pulls a bit on lead walking with other dogs, but is fine on her own. Likes playing in water, but has never been exposed to a pool so not sure about swimming. She sleeps outside and has had basic training. Her vet card is up to date. Her hips have been tested. Must be homed with another dog for company RESERVED PENDING HOME CHECK NAME: CAESAR (DURBAN) Caesar is a 7 year old male Labrador cross. He has been neutered. This boy has a divine temperament and he gets on fine with other dogs and cats and is great with children. His owners are immigrating and need to find him a home by end December RESERVED PENDING HOME CHECK NAME: BLACKIE (FOURWAYS) 7 year old gentle female Labrador cross who was destined for euthanasia as her owner died. Looking for a loving home. She is good with other dogs and has lived with 3 cats. Don t have much info on her as it was an emergency to get her out of her situation. NAME: BILLY (JHB) Billy is a very special dog who needs a firm but kind owner. He is a big strong dog and is dominant so would need to be homed either as an only dog or with a dog who was submissive. He did live with a small dog and he has not been exposed to small children and cats. He is a lot of fun once he gets to know you and has loads of personality.

3 NAME: HONEY (JOHANNESBURG) Honey is a 4 year old spayed female who is looking for a home as her owner is moving into smaller premises without a garden. She is very good with children and other dogs, but has not lived with cats. She is a gentle and quiet girl NAME: BILLY JEAN (VERENINGING) Billy Jean is a black female about 8 years old. She has been sterilized and vaccinated. She is very healthy and active. BJ might be a Labbie cross but definitely has a Labrador nature and even temperament. She was found abandoned and has been in a shelter for over a year. She has an old leg injury, but this does not seem to worry her. She is fine with other dogs, not sure about cats as there are no cats in the shelter. She is a calm and gentle dog. Its long enough now please let s find her a home Name: STRAY (BRAKPAN) He is a 2 year yellow Male. He would have to be adopted through Brakpan SPCA and their home checks and adoption fees would apply NAME: SEEZER( MIDDLEBURG) WAITING FOR PICTURES Seezer is 3 year old yellow male who is great with kids, cats and other dogs. He lived with 4 other dogs. He was surrendered to Middelburg SPCA with the other dogs as his owners could no longer keep them. Adoption fee includes vaccs and sterilization and strict homechecks will apply. 4 Name: MAXINE & SASSY (FOURWAYS) Maxi is a 3 yr old purebred Labrador with a gentle temperament. Sassy is a 4 year old female golden retriever. Both dogs are good with children and other dogs and are okay on lead although they pull a bit. Have never lived with cats. They sleep in the garage. They are both loving and playful dogs. They need to be re-homed soonest as one of the family s children is very allergic. OWNER IS PREPARED TO SPLIT THEM RESERVED PENDING HOMECHECK NAME: LANGA & REX (MARBLE ARCH In JHB 27/11) Langa is a 5 year old purebred yellow female with papers. She has had litters of puppies and would need to be spayed. Rex is a 7 year old un-neutered purebred male without papers.. They are both great with children of all ages and have grown up with small children. They have never lived with cats. Langa walks well on lead. She loves playing with the ball and swimming and has had basic training. Rex pulls on the lead and also likes swimming. Both dogs sleep outside and vet books are up to date. They both obey basic commands. Owner would like them to be homed together RESERVED PENDING HOME CHECK NAME: DUKE (JOHANNESBURG) Duke is a 9 year old neutered purebred male Labrador with papers. Duke is generally healthy, and we have a very recent vet health report for him which states that he has arthritis in both elbows and spondylosis in parts of the spine requiring nonsteroid anti-inflammatory therapy. This is the kind of age-related disease one can expect from a dog of this age. His owner says Duke has some allergies but that this is manageable. Duke needs a quiet retirement home, preferably with no small children NAME: CHESTER (BOKSBURG) Chester is a 5 year old yellow male. He has been in foster care and there are problems with the other dogs. He grew up with children and was fine with previous dogs. He also lived with cats and was fine with them. He is an outside dog, but is scared of thunder and firecrackers, so has to be indoors during storm.

5 NAME: ZOË (BOKSBURG) Zoë is almost 3 years old. She needs to be re-homed because there is fighting with other dogs at home. She is fantastic with kids and is a very loveable and affectionate girl who LOVES her ball. NAME: SARA (KEMPTON PARK) Sara is a 12 year old female Labbie looking for a forever retirement home. She was taken in but is not happy with the younger Labradors in her new home. She is very affectionate. She has mild arthritis but is otherwise in good condition and does go for walks every day. She is just looking for a quiet place to spend the rest of her life. NAME: DIGGER (PORT ELIZABETH) Digger was brought into PE Animal welfare having been abandoned and very neglected. He is approx 2 years old and although not in great shape, is generally very healthy and on re-homing will be neutered and his vet book will be up to date. He is very good with people and other dogs but has not been exposed to cats. He will have to be adopted though Animal Welfare PE and their adoption fees and home checks will apply. A loveable and gentle dog. NAME: DAISY (PORT ELIZABETH) Daisy is 7 months old. She is purebred but has no papers. Her inoculations are up to date and she would need to be sterilized on re-homing. She is a handful, so previous experience with Labrador puppies is needed and also she would have to be trained. Although boisterous, she is good with children and fine with dogs and cats. She loves swimming. RESERVED PENDNG HOME CHECK NAME: TRINITY (BLUE HILLS) Trinity is a 4 year old yellow female. She was abandoned by her owners who are moving. She is fine with other dogs but we are not sure what she is like with cats. She is great with kids. She has been living with a Staffie X and ideally we would like to home them together. 6 NAME: VICTORIA (ALBERTON) Victoria is a 7 month old Labrador cross. She is a lovely dog who needs lots of attention and will need training. She is very good with children but has not been exposed to cats. She has lived with other dogs. She is digging and chewing and owner can t cope. NAME: TOBY (CAPE TOWN) Toby is a 3-4 year old Lab cross who has had a dreadful time. He was badly abused and it has taken a long time to rehab him. He would be best in a home with no male dogs and children older than 12 years old. Could someone offer Toby his first ever loving home? NAME: CAMILLA (RIVONIA) Camilla is a 5 year old purebred Black Female with papers. She is good with children and other older dogs and tends to ignore cats. She is very affectionate and has a wonderful nature. Ideally, she needs to find a home by end January She has been spayed and her vet book is up to date. NAME: BOESMAN (PRETORIA) Boesman is an 8 year old neutered male without papers. He walks well on lead and loves swimming. He sleeps outside. Has been fine with other dogs but has recently been showing aggression so should possibly be homed as an only dog. He is in good health and his vet card is up to date. NAME: DUKE (WEST COAST) Duke is a 4 year old male who needs to be neutered on re-homing. He is fine with kids, cats and chickens!. Also fine with other dogs. Has been trained, walks nicely on the lead and is very obedient he loves to please. Duke sleeps outside and loves swimming. A fit and healthy dog.

7 NAME: SHADOW (DURBAN) Shadow is an 11 month old male who does not know his own strength. He loves children and is very playful. A very passive and gentle natured dog. He is a big boy but is learning to walk on lead and is very obedient. He sleeps outside under cover. He loves collecting sticks and is a fabulous dog. Owners have opened a crèche for under 2 year olds and this is all very exciting for Shadow who wants to play, but not such fun for the very small children. Looking to re-home ASAP NAME: MISCHKA (PORT ELIZABETH) Mischka is a 5 month old female. She is fine with children but has not been exposed to cats. She lives with small dogs. She sleeps inside and her vet book is up to date. She may have a bit of Golden Retriever in her family history. She needs a new home as she is fetching/ retrieving the elderly Daschunds she lives with and is too boisterous for them. NAME: ASTON & DAYNA (PORT ELIZABETH) Aston is around 2 years old and Dayna around 18 months old. Aston is a yellow Labrador cross Golden Retriever, and Dayna a black Labrador cross Collie. Aston is more active than Dayna and absolutely loves his rugby ball. Dayna is the one that prefers attention and could sit on your lap all day until told to go outside. They are extremely lovable and have been fully house trained. They need to be homed together. Devastated owner has work commitments which mean a lot of travelling. Name: BRUNO (PARYS) Dark Chocolate male under a year old found as a stray. Very sweet boy. Possibly a tiny bit of Collie cross. Walks nicely on lead and is not fussed by cats. Fine with other dogs. He is a bit of an escape artist, so a secure property with high fence is needed. Lovely nature. R450 adoption fee applies as he is an SPCA RESCUE

8 Can you help? We are in serious need of foster homes throughout the country. Sometimes it is not possible to kennel dogs and we then are really stuck. (Normally on a Friday afternoon at 4 o clock! ) If you are in a position of offer a foster home for any length of time, please could you contact either Sharon or Ricki at Lab Rescue. FOSTER HOME NEEDED (RANDBURG) Zorba and Sox have finally found their forever home in Randburg. Only problem is that their new dad has made arrangements to go away from 20 th to 30 th December and at this time of the year it is not easy to find kennelling at short notice. If anyone could foster these two for 10 days, it would be much appreciated. They are kind, sweet, gentle and well behaved dogs. They are both neutered and are good with children, but have not been exposed to cats. They seem to be fine with other dogs when on lead and on walks in the park. If you can help, please call Sharon at Lab Club Rescue on FOSTER HOME NEEDED (CAPE TOWN) GIZMO male / yellow purebred / 3yrs MAMBO male / black lab xstaffie / 2yrs Neither are sterilised at this stage though are trying to make a plan for them to be done ASAP. They are excellent with children and good with cats. Fine with all dogs, not aggressive, never been any aggressive incidents Love swimming, don t like their baths to much though. Run in the waves on the beach. Mambo dives in the sea and fetches stones from the bottom Gizmo is obedient and trained well on the leash. Mambo pulls They both sleep inside Deworming is up to date, will be up to date with vaccs No allergies nor skin disorders. Mostly eat dry food, love treats Mambo is a high jumper and is curious Reason for needing a foster : Owners have financial difficulties and will be losing their house.
