Abstract Our goal is to stop animal abuse. By stopping animal abuse animals will be safe, and people will be happy that no one is hurting their animal. We re sure that our project will protect animals. Our project is called The A Bot, our project is a clip that will go in the back of an animal s neck because the back of the neck has lots of fat and skin so the chip will not hurt the animal while putting the chip. The chip will be implanted with a syringe. The A Bot has its own app called The A Bot app. The A Bot app will sound an alarm and will turn red if they were dying, turn orange if hungry, turn blue if being hurt, turn purple if the animal is lost or far away, if the animal is fine the app will not go off.
Present Technology Our goal is to make sure that animal abuse stops and it will help people if they have lost their pet. We hope this will stop animal abuse. Nearly 6,840 animals die from abuse each year, 19 animals die per day. The A Bot stands for The Animal Abuse Tracker, it has a chip that has a GPS in it that tells your phone where your animal is. What The A Bot is designed to do is to help watch over animals being abused or hurt. It would have an entire system for the A bot. The app on the phone would sound an alarm and would turn red if they were dying, turn blue if being hurt, turn purple on the app if they were lost from home, if the animal was fine the app wouldn t do anything. Hippos, zebras and even man s best friend and cats of all kinds like lions. There are currently very few things that are like this like this one of them is called Tagg, the Kylos Compact, one Animal GPS called Whistle GPS, and the Fan shoe it is kind of like ours but ours is an implanted device. Ours is better because it is going to be A: They can t take the implanted device out. And B: The chip has a GPS in the chip and you can get an app on your phone or tablet.
If you lose your pet you don t have to put signs up instead you can just look your pet up on the device. If we are able to do this then we can upgrade more and more and then we could make more and more collars for every animal in the WORLD. But we need your help to make this dream possible.
History The problem that we are trying to fix is animal abuse. In the history of animal abuse, ASPCA is a shelter that helps animals if they are hurt or starving, ASPCA hires people to get animals that are on the streets or in an old house where no one lives, when people have left their dogs that are on a chain still and the ASPCA gets the animal that is hurt or hungry and brings them to the shelter and gives the animal food and water and takes care of them and people would go adopt them and give them a good home. People would give money to stop animal abuse. On ASPCA they have a website that you can go to and donate money to stop animal abuse. The humane society opened up in 1993, when a terrified horse was forced to jump of a cliff leading to the horse s death. The humane society lobbied a bill to protect the bald eagle, soon Franklin D. Roosevelt made not able to hurt the bald eagle into a law. In 2007 people used to do cockfighting and it was illegal in Louisiana in that time. In 2008 it was illegal in the United States but people still did cockfighting. Cockfighting is where people get their dogs and make them fight another dog, bet on what one will win, and it is a kind of animal abuse.
Ours is better because we have a chip that you put in your animal, the app you where your animal is, if your animal is getting hurt, if your animal is dying, or if your dog is hungry.
Future Technology The A Bot will track animal abuse, the chip is an implanted device to detect animal abuse. You can get an app on your phone or tablet called The A Bot app, the app will sound an alarm and turn red if they were dying, turn blue if being hurt, turn purple on the app if they were lost or far away from home, turn orange if hungry, if the animal is fine then the app would turn green and won t beep or anything. The chip will have a G.P.S and a sensor that will detect stress levels and show where the animal is, and the chip will notify you on your app on your mobile device. This will let you know where your animal is and what your animal is doing. You can only get the chip implanted at the vet. The chip will be implanted at the vet s and be implanted by a syringe. The A Bot will be placed in the back of the neck because it has the most fat and skin on the animal. If the person who is abusing the animal tries to take out the chip so the chip doesn t detect the person. The chip will shock the person but not the animal, and if you take your animal to the vet to take out the chip you can turn off the shock on your mobile device.
If your animal is hungry and it sounds an alarm on the app on your mobile device then you can type what food you want your animal wants and it will magically appear.
Breakthroughs In order for our experiment to happen the following needs to be invented: One of the things we need is a device that would shock anyone who tries to get the chip of the pet but it won t shock the animal. We need a device for the chip that will magically appear food, so if your animal is hungry you can go on the app on your mobile device and you can pick the food and it will appear in front of your animal this is important. We need a type of device that will sense the pressure applied on the animal so the animal s owner doesn t get arrested for animal abuse. The chip also needs a sound system in the chip so the animal abuse people don t get confused with animal abuse. We need a thing that will let you have an app about a device. This is important because if we don t have an app that will let you know where you re animal is, if the animal is hungry, and if you don t know this then your animal could be dying. Another Breakthrough we ll need is Technology that will allow the device to communicate with the person and authorities even if there is no phone reception. The reason is because if the owner of the pet will need to know where the pet is at all times and so do the authorities so they can track if the animal is being abused. Another breakthrough is an app that
goes along with the device implanted in the pet. It could allow you to send food directly to the pet if needed. It could also help track the animal/pet.
Design Process We first called The A Bot, The Animal Abuse Tracker then we changed the name to The A Bot. The A Bot was first a collar, then we changed The A Bot into a chip we had more ideas with the chip. Someone could cut the collar in half this is important because the owner would not know that the animal is being abused and we thought the chip was better. The chip would not be so easy to take out sense the chip would be in the animal and not on the outside of the animal. The chip will be pretty small and the chip will somehow make food magically appear in front of the animal, but if the owner wants steak for the animal the steak would be bigger than the chip this is important because if your dog is lost and hungry and you can t go get the animal and feed the animal you could just go on your phone and search the food you want for your animal. The chip sounds an alarm on the app in your mobile device then the app would turn different colors for different reasons this is important because if your animal is lost, hungry, or being abused the app will sound an alarm so you know what is happening to the animal so you can go get your animal. Another design on the chip would be a sound sensor and a pressure device so if it ran it to a wall the owner wouldn t get arrested. Also another part of
this would that yes it is implanted in the back of the neck but there would be advantages for the abuser if they knew where the chip was implanted they could easily take it out. So within the chip we would need to make it to where it can shock the abuser and wouldn t shock the animal.
Consequences There will be many negative and positive consequences, some of the negative consequences is that some people might lose their jobs of finding lost animals that have been abused or their owners left them. This is important because people will lose their jobs and not have money. Another negative consequence is that food cannot magically appear in front of your animal this is important because if your animal is lost and hungry and you can t go find your animal you can just go on your app and feed your animal and pick your animal s food the animal eats. One more negative consequence is that the chip might detect if the animal is playing, and think that the animal is getting abused and see if the animal is getting hurt and will detect the owner and think the owner is abusing the animal, this is important because the chip will contact the police and the police will know that the animal is being abused and probably arrest the owner. Some of the positive consequences is that The A Bot will help reduce animal abuse and hopefully stop animal abuse. Another positive consequence is that The A Bot will show where your animal is by a G.P.S, detect if the animal is hungry since The A Bot is in the animal the chip can see the animal s nutrition s and see if the animal is hungry because the
animal s nutrition s will go low. The A Bot will track if your animal is being abused, this is important because your animal that might be in danger.
