This year t h e Specialty was judged by the thir d generation Scottie man, Mr. Ben Brown of California, who must have enjoyed the entry of 23 dogs, 21 bitches and 7 Specials (6 dogs- 1 bitch). We w er e also for tunate to have another long-time Scottie breeder passing out the Group ribbons the n ext day at Westminster, where judge, Mr. Anthony Stamm awar ded a Group Second to Ch. WESTMINSTER Mr. Charles Werber, Jr. substituted for the late George Hartman at Westminster, and found an entry of 8 dogs, 12 bitches and 10 Specials. Those repeating their wins of the previous day were "Fanfare", "Troops the Colors" and"tasty Dish"" while Winners Dog on this day went to Helen Gaither's Gaidoune Grin and Bear It. Reserves went to the Stalters' Barberry Knowe Wishbone (Ch. Walsing Wild Winter of Barberry Knowe - Pomarscot Bo Peep) in dogs, and in bitches to Little Me De La Termitiere. (Ch. Walsing Wild Winter of Barberry Knowe Ch. Carmichaels Frivolity). One of the highlights of Tuesday's judging was seeing the Brace of Scots, Blanart Bold Ruler and Black Baron show so beautifully in the Terrier Group Braces, walking off with the top award under Tony Stamm. This seemingly amiable pair must have had a bit of a quarrel sometime between the Groups and Best in Show, much to the amusement of the thousands of spectators, as Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Hallmark had all they could do to keep the pair from being "typically Scot" when it came to Best in Show. The California Scottish Terrier Club held a dinner the next night hosted by Restauranteur and club m ember, Meon L eard. The Highlight of the extremely well attended dinner were the excellent films taking by Tony and Miriam Stamm on their recent trip to England. Tony's narration of the films wer e a revelation to many, as few of us h ave had the opportunity to see the many top quality dogs presently b eing bred in the British Isles. Since many American dogs stem from English bloodlines, it was p articularly interesting to b e able to see in these quality films some of the dogs which appear in the pedigrees of our stock.
