The dog show rules are posted on the AKC Web site at SPECIAL SHOW INSTRUCTIONS * The Show Site will open for grooming area set up at 10:00 A.M., Friday, May 10, 2019, and again at 7:00 A.M., Saturday, May 11, * Dogs must be removed from the Show Site immediately following Best of Breed judging on Saturday afternoon, May 11, * Due to the time and expense incurred to clean up the chalk dust, we kindly ask that you please help us to keep the Building clean so that we may continue to use it in the future. Thank you! * There will not be space for exercise pens within the Building. Crates must be stacked. * NO soft-sided crates in the Building. * Dogs may arrive any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. All dogs present must be held on leash or confined to their crates except when being judged or when in the exercise ring. Dogs not required for further judging will be excused. * OFFICIAL SHOW SITE LIMITS shall include all of the area within 30 feet of the Building. There shall be NO SMOKING within the show site limits. All dogs within the show site limits must be eligible to be entered in an AKC show. * UNENTERED DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE BUILDING. * NO FIREARMS are allowed within the show site limits. * NO ALCOHOLIC beverages are allowed within the show site limits. * NO BABY STROLLERS are allowed in the Building. * A food vendor will be on site offering sandwiches, salads, coffee, soft drinks, etc. * AGENT S NAME will be listed. The agent must be at least 18 years of age. * Indoor restrooms are available in the Building and handicapped accessible. * THE BUILDING IS HEATED AND AIR CONDITIONED. * PLEASE TURN OFF CELL PHONES AND/OR PAGERS BEFORE ENTERING THE RING. "Dogs found in an unsafe environment, distress or harm s way (for example: left unattended on a grooming table in a noose not attached to a safety release clip; left in a vehicle without proper ventilation) will be removed to safety. Exposing a dog to an unsafe environment, distress or harm s way is considered mistreatment. No dogs that are disqualified for aggression will be allowed to enter these Shows, nor be allowed to be on the grounds. In addition, no aggression reinstatement procedures will be performed at these Shows.

3 Mail Early-Entries Close Wednesday Noon (EDT), April 24, FOUR-TO-SIX MONTH BEGINNER PUPPY COMPETITION FRIDAY, MAY 10, 2019 Judge: Ms. Carolyn Ing The Four-to-Six Month Beginner Puppy competition shall be for dogs that are four months of age and over but under six months on the day of the event. Classes will not be divided by sex in this competition. Classes will be offered for Breeds as described in Chapter 3, Section 1 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows. AKC registration number or an AKC litter number will be required for entries of an AKC recognized breed as listed in Chapter 3, Section 1 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows. A Foreign born dog may enter this class if they are registered in the country of origin. All entrants are to be vaccinated (including rabies) in accordance with their veterinarian s protocol. Professional handlers are not permitted to exhibit in this class. Dogs that are owned or co-owned by a professional handler may compete in this class, but must be handled by a non-professional handler. Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay within the last five years. Dogs may not be exhibited by current assistants and household members of a professional handler. Exhibitors should open their dog s mouth for examination. If the judge finds it necessary to open the mouth they should disinfect their hands prior to examining other dogs. Male puppies without 2 fully descended testicles need not be disqualified or excused but the judge s book must describe the condition and Certificate of Merit points must be withheld. Dogs with breed standard disqualifications should not be excused but may not receive placements. However, dogs with age related disqualifications such as color (as related to age), height, teeth etc. are permitted to receive awards in the 4-6 Month Beginner Puppy classes. Dogs must be excused for attacking a person or other dogs. No dog is to be judged if it is brought into the ring bandaged, taped, glued or stitched anywhere including ears or tail. These dogs must be excused from judging but, at the judge s discretion, may return to be judged after the tape or bandage is removed. Dealing with Misconduct will be applicable to any person and dog entered at this competition. All applicable rules found in Rules Applying to Dog Shows will govern the conduct of this competition unless these regulations state otherwise. BEST OF BREED COMPETITION BEST PUPPY BEST BRED-BY-EXHIBITOR BEST VETERAN SPECIAL ATTRACTIONS for All Shows BEST PUPPY-During the course of Regular judging, the assigned judge will select a Best Puppy from the Class winners of the 6 mos. and under 9 mos. and the 9 mos. and under 12 mos. Classes. This will be done after the Best of Breed Competition judging unless the Best Puppy award is automatic. Example: An entry from the Puppy Classes is awarded Best of Winners or Best of Breed. Only dogs and bitches undefeated in a Puppy Class are eligible for Best Puppy Competition. If the first place winner is not present, the second place winner may not compete. BEST BRED-BY-EXHIBITOR-During the course of Regular judging, the assigned judge will select a Best Bred-by-Exhibitor in each Bred-by-Exhibitor Class winners. This will be done after the Best of Breed Competition unless the Best Bred-by-Exhibitor award is automatic. Example: An entry from the Bred-by-Exhibitor class is awarded Best of Winners or Best of Breed. Only dogs and bitches undefeated in a Bred-by-Exhibitor Class are eligible for the Best Bred-by-Exhibitor Competition. If the first place winner is not present, the second place winner may not compete. BEST VETERAN-During the course of Regular judging, the assigned judge will select a Best Veteran in Breed from the Non-Regular Veteran Dog & Veteran Bitch Classes. This will be done after Best of Breed judging. Example: A Veteran Class winner is awarded Best of Breed then Best Veteran award is automatic. Only dogs not defeated in regular Veteran classes are eligible to compete for Best Veteran.

Convalescence from a medical procedure, illness and recuperation from injuries are examples of conditions that are not emergencies. The emergency use of a ramp may be allowed on a day and may be extended to include a cluster as well as judging either a group and/or Best In Show. (In all but emergency situations, the exhibitor has no recourse.
