20 Dog Park Newsletter Greetings Dog Park Members, Since the opening of the dog park, we ve accumulated a large number of members. We d like to thank you all for your patience and cooperation as we ve worked together to continuously improve park conditions, make additions, and listen to member feedback. As we move further into the holiday season, we d like to address a few things with all of our members. Park cleanliness is of the utmost importance to our city. We want to insure that each member is capable of enjoying a mess-free park experience. As such, we d like to remind each member to make sure to clean up after your dog(s). Dogs are constantly on the move, but make sure to keep an eye on yours to avoid any unnoticed mess-making as well as aggressive behavior. It s winter! As such, nighttime will be progressively coming sooner and sooner. Until further notice, the dog park will be closing at 5:30 PM. Keep this in mind when planning your trips to the dog park. allow individuals into the dog park until their rabies shots have been renewed. Failure to renew your rabies shots may result in a complete loss of key fob privileges. If you have your updated rabies information, you can that information here. Also for you safety, we will be doing periodic spotchecks to ensure everyone in the park has a key fob and is a member. We want to thank you all for contributing to our wonderful dog park community. For the upcoming holidays the dog park will close earlier. Christmas Eve and New Year s Eve we will be closing at 3:30PM. The dog park will not be open at all on Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year s Day. If you find that your key fob is not working, remember that they will not work if your rabies shots have expired. For your safety, we will not 20
21 v Windmill Dog Park was dedicated to the community March, It was designed to provide recreation for small and large dogs and to enable social interactions among dog owners. The dog park features separate fenced enclosures for large and small dogs with key fob activated entries and double gates. These two areas include play equipment, waste bins, shaded areas, walkways, benches, pavilions, and water fountains. Re- Utilize the holding enclosure to attach and detach leashes. No leashes shall be attached within the dog park. Leashes must be attached upon leaving. Do not allow your dog to dig holes. If they do, please attempt to fill them. Clean up after your dog. Dogs must be within voice range and under owner s control at all times. Dogs are not allowed in the restrooms. No more than 3 dogs per person. No food. No smoking. Be sure to become acquainted with park rules and procedures. If you are unsure of something, please ask the park staff for assistance. 21
22 The dog park is for members only. Those without proper ID will not be allowed in. Those caught letting people without IDs into the dog park may be subject to having their membership(s) revoked. Dogs must be at least 4 months old. Dogs must be in the properly designated areas. The owner/guardian must not and cannot leave the park without their dogs. Professional dog walkers, trainers and groomers shall not use the park to conduct business. Dogs must have valid tags. Dogs exhibiting aggressive behavior shall be removed immediately. Name, phone number, and proof of vaccination shall be given to injured parties before leaving the park if their dog inflicts an injury. Dog owners are solely liable for injuries or damage caused by their dog. Female dogs in heat are prohibited. Small dog enclosure is for dogs weighing 30 lbs or less. Large dog enclosure is for dogs weighing more than 30 lbs. 22

The trail shows how Coconut Creek looked before development. The 1,005 foot long boardwalk winds through cypress trees and over ground covered with giant ferns, smaller wood ferns and other plant life.
