Some people were moved and others just given runs. If they don t like it they can swap with someone it s their job to find a replacement RUN REPORT by Trail Master Pig Run No: 1624 Well done PIG for chasing up all these Hares. Wonders will never cease I made the run on time to get the map from Sniffer, but where was she, in the club filling it out. Her excuse was she was late starting the run and was running out of time. So why do retired people have a lack of time? The pack was in luck as Bingo was back to get everyone started exactly on hrs but alas she had forgotten to bring her watch so had no idea what time it was. It was in the bathroom but being so directionally challenged she could not find the bathroom from the lounge room.

3 The run got underway heading straight down Connells Point Road, there was an on back down Mimosa Street, this street was not on my map so it I thought this may make it interesting in the bush section. The FRB who went down the on back decided to short cut to the meet up with the trail further on in Morsehead Drive and into the park. This was a very good surprise, a great bush track that was easy to follow and spread the pack out. Old man Goon, the faller from last week QR and Tickle, who was concerned about Goons health and stayed with him, plus the TM. I would say I stayed with the back of the pack to ensure they were safe and didn t get lost, and it would be true. The FRB were racing ahead along the water front where the poor people live with the little boats tied up, and into a different reserve. Usual steady as you go types caught up with the FRB who were milling around looking for trail. The TM pretended he could not understand the map and sent the FRB s up the garden path. Yes, it was a garden path. Met some walkers in the park who asked me if we were looking for a dog as we must have looked very weird to him, anyway finally, after some consultation with the former TM (who showed off and ran to the hash run from his abode probably 10KM) and the correct trail was found. Around the park whatever its name was and around a nice little mad women s loop. From there it was a dash along Jellicoe Street into Seymore and into a third park. The FRB s were lost again at this point and they really took a while to find the trail however from there to home they made it a dash to the bucket. Total length 6.5Km. It was great to see the runners arrived back before the walker talkers who must have been casting dispersions on a great number of people to be so far behind. The runners ate all the food to pay back the walkers but wait the Hare had a backup supply for the walkers. BUGGER. An excellent run, nice amount of bush and road. A good number of checks and on backs well worth the 9 the run reporter gave the run. CIRCLE REPORT As reported by the Trailmaster in his report, for the first time ever, the FRB s beat the walkers back to the bucket which enabled them to devour the nibblies before the walkers did. Thanks Sniffer for the appetisers. A good crowd circled up when RA Sniffer Dog whistled us to gather around & listen to the history lesson on the suburb of South Hurstville. The Hurstville area was granted to Captain John Townson and his brother Robert Townson in 1808; Captain Townson was granted 1,950 acres (7.9 km) which was on the land now occupied by the suburb of Hurstville and parts of Bexley, while Robert was granted the land which is now occupied by Penshurst, Mortdale, and parts of Peakhurst. The next year, Captain Townson was granted an additional 250 acres (1.0 km) in the area now occupied by Kingsgrove and Beverly Hills. The Townson brothers, however, were not happy with the heavily timbered land that they were given because it was not suitable for the farming of sheep for wool; consequently, it is likely that the brothers never occupied their land.

4 The land was sold to a wealthy merchant named Simeon Lord ( ) in 1812, who called his land Lord's Bush. When Simeon Lord died, the land became the property of John Rose Holden and James Holt of the Bank of N.S.W. South Hurstville is a mainly residential area with a few commercial developments, most of which are located on King Georges Road. The shopping strip is located on King Georges Road around the intersection of Connells Point Road & Greenacre Road. The Kings Head Tavern is a landmark on the corner of King Georges Road & Connells Point Road. Back in the early 90 s. B2H3 were once banned from this establishment for raucous behaviour. If my memory serves me correctly I believe it had something to do with our RA at the time, Pig, thrilling us Harriettes by showing us the size of his?????.! Please correct me if I am wrong! Sniffer then informed us that the only notable identity to come from South Hurstville was the great Australia tennis player, Ken Rosewall but this information was hotly disputed by Holeproof who said he came from Penshurst (his parents had a grocery shop there on The Strand) & Rabbit who said he came from Hurstville Grove. Other notables were: Myles Plummer, Australian actor, from films Rain Man, I Am Sam, and What's Eating Gilbert Grape. Steven Playford, taekwondo champion. Martin Chun, editor of Blue. There was once a private hospital at South Hurstville on King George s Road where Holeproof s ex, Big Al, was born in 1935!! RUN REPORTER: HANNIBAL awarded SNIFFER DOG 9/10 for her seminal run I just love Solicitors they use such interesting words! 12 THE ON ON & NEVER LET THE TRUTH GET IN THE WAY OF A GOOD STORY SECTION The meals at the RSL were well priced & very tasty. Well done SD for organising this venue & special priced meals. Sniffer Dog was overheard to say: I have given up on the dating sites like Tinder, EHarmony & RSVP etc. and I have gone to Pizza Deliveries What!? Why? one of the Harriettes asked Well, said Sniffer they have a job, they have a car & they bring food Hannibal held a staff meeting at his law practice & complained to his staff that they did not respect him enough. The next day Hannibal added a sign to his door that said, I am the boss. One of his employees, not appreciating Hannibal s attitude, added a post-it note that read, Your wife wants her sign back. Pig was kept busy chasing up Hares for future runs & I have received a list taking us up until April 2018! Not sure if everyone on the list volunteered but your name is there anyway. Venus was kept busy handing out how to pay your fees notes. Please remember 30 th November is the deadline, then visitors fees apply Slotcard, our resident Wordsmith, was overheard asking: What happened when Past, Present & Future walked into a bar? Answer: It was tense The Hypnotist at a Seniors Home It was entertainment night at the senior citizens' centre. After the community sing along led by Alice at the piano, it was time for the star of the show Claude the Hypnotist! Claude explained that he was going to put the whole audience into a trance. "Yes, each and every one of you and all at the same time." said Claude. The excited chatter dropped to silence as Claude carefully withdrew from his waistcoat pocket a beautiful antique gold pocket watch and chain "I want you to keep your eyes on this watch" said Claude, holding the watch high for all to see. It is a very special and valuable watch that has been in my family for six generations", said Claude. He began to swing the watch gently back and forth while quietly chanting. "Watch the watch ---Watch the watch --- Watch the watch". The audience became mesmerized as the watch swayed back and forth. The lights were twinkling as they were reflected from its gleaming surface A hundred and fifty pairs of eyes followed the movements of the gently swaying watch. They were hypnotized. And then, suddenly, the chain broke!!! The beautiful watch fell to the stage and burst apart on impact. "SHIT" said Claude. It took them three days to clean the Senior citizens' centre and Claude was never invited there again! On On Holeproof Pseudo will be taking notes for the next couple of Mondays
