Dogs with a PAL/ILP or an AKC Canine Partners Listing Number must be spayed or neutered in order to compete. Bitches in season, aggressive dogs, or dogs suffering from any deformity, injury, or illness which may affect the dog s physical or mental performance are not eligible to participate. There is plenty of room for crating and lots of grassy areas for walking dogs. NO dogs allowed in gardens, flower beds, or shrub beds at the Cabarrus Arena & Events Center. Violations will be referred to the Event Committee for a hearing. X-pens and baby strollers are not allowed in the arena. A concession stand will be open for breakfast and lunch during trial hours. Do not let your dog(s) destroy or foul the rooms. No grooming or bathing dogs in rooms. Clean up after your dog outside too! Limit barking and other noise. Please respect others. Plastic will be available at motel desk for use under all crates. For your protection, thoroughly check your room for previous damage before moving in. From the South via I-85: Take I-85 North to Exit 48 (I-485). Turn right on I-485 East and travel to Exit 33 (Hwy 49 N Harrisburg). Stay on Hwy 49 North for approximately 13.5 miles; arena will be on your left. From the South via I-77: Take I-77 North to I-485 East and travel to Exit 33 (Hwy 49 N - Harrisburg). Stay on Hwy 49 North for roughly 13.5 miles; arena will be on your left. From the North via I-85: Take I-85 south to Exit 60. Turn left onto Dale Earnhardt/Copperfield Blvd. Follow this to NC 3 (approximately 1.5 miles). Turn left at the red light and follow NC 3 to US 601. Turn left onto US 601. Go approximately ½ mile and turn left onto NC 49 North. Go 3.2 miles; arena will be on your left. From the North and West via I-77: Take I-77 to Exit 25 (Hwy 73). Take 73 East to US 29/Hwy 601. Turn right; travel 2.2 miles; stay left and follow US 601 to NC 49 North. Turn left on 49 N and go 3.2 miles; arena will be on your left. From the East via US 74: Take US 74 West to Monroe. By entering this trial, exhibitors acknowledge that they are familiar with the rules and regulations of this sport, and that their dogs are familiar with and able to perform all obstacles safely. Puppies under 6 months of age are strictly prohibited from the grounds. No unentered dogs will be permitted on show grounds, unless present for heath clinics. The trial-giving clubs, the Trial Secretary, their agents, employees, etc. assume no responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury sustained by exhibitors, handlers, or to any of their dogs or property and further assumes no responsibility for injury to children. It is expressly understood that exhibitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dogs and/or children. Any exhibitor whose dogs and/or children create unnecessary disturbances or repeatedly engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior may, at the discretion of the Trial Committee, be asked to leave the trial site. In such case, no refund of any fees paid will be made. The welfare of an exhibitor's child is assumed to be the responsibility of the exhibitor. It is expressly understood that exhibitors will exercise control and restraint over their children on the day of the events. For the safety of the child, no baby strollers allowed in any building. Entry fees will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused, or barred from competition by the action of the Trial Committee. No entry fee will be refunded if the trial cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire, an act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, or any other cause beyond the control of the organizing committee. Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. There will be a $25 service charge for returned checks. No refunds for overpayment errors less than $10. All dogs must be on a leash at all times except when in the ring or when in the designated agility warm-up area. Exhibitors are responsible for being at the ring gate when it is their turn to run. Obstacles shall meet the specifications for obstacles in the current edition of Regulations for Agility Trials. Bitches in season are not eligible to compete. Bitches in heat may be withdrawn after closing and the entry fee (less $3/run our direct costs) returned upon request of the competitor prior to the start of the trial. All requests must be accompanied by a veterinarian s statement. Exhibitors should follow their veterinarians recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations. The AKC reminds all exhibitors that dogs showing any signs of illness or communicable disease should not be brought to the events. Exhibitors are responsible for errors on entry blanks, for entering the same dog twice, or for entering a dog in a class for which it is ineligible to compete. Illegible or incomplete entries will not be accepted. All entries must be made on official AKC Entry Forms and must include the Agreement and Rules. No entry shall be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. The Charlotte DogTraining Club and Greater Monroe Kennel Club do not agree to arbitrate claims as set forth on the Official AKC entry form for this event. 6

4 MEASURING Effective , exhibitors are no longer required to provide proof to Trial Secretaries that their dog has a valid jump height card as part of the check-in process. Dogs without a valid jump height card/form may still compete, but they must be measured/wicketed by the Judge of Record PRIOR to running in their class. This measurement will be valid for that weekend of trials only. Dogs entered in the 24 or 26 height division are excepted from this requirement. However, if a Volunteer Measuring Official (VMO) or an Agility Field Rep is present, ALL dogs without a valid jump height card/form must be measured at some time during the trial or cluster of trials. This does not preclude having the dog wicketed by the Judge of Record if the VMO or Rep is not available to measure before the dog s first run of the trial. It is the exhibitor s responsibility to have their dog measured prior to running, and failure to do so will result in the cancellation of any qualifying scores. Judging will not be held up or interrupted for measuring! Please see Instructions section of entry form. They may be ed to pegfranklin@morrisbb.net. Provide dog s call name, owner s name, original class entered and new class requested. Move-ups for Friday, Saturday and Sunday must include the above information and must be delivered to the Trial Secretary at the trial site no later than 20 minutes after the final dog has run. Dogs moved up will generally be placed at the end of the running order. CONFIRMATIONS If you provide a valid, legible address, final confirmation of your entry and a schedule of judging will be sent to the address provided you will NOT receive a confirmation via US mail. Please be sure that the Trial Secretary s address is not blocked; also please be sure that the secretary s address has been added to your safe or approved senders list. If you do not provide an address, your confirmation of entry and judging schedule will be mailed to the address provided on your entry form. If you have not received a copy of your confirmation five days before the show, contact the Trial Secretary. PRIZES AND AWARDS Rosettes will be awarded to the 1st through 4th place teams in each jump height in each class. Dogs must qualify to receive placement ribbons. Qualifying ribbons will be awarded to all dogs receiving qualifying scores. MACH and PAX ribbons and bars will be awarded to dogs that earn these titles at this trial. New title pins or ribbons will also be awarded to those dogs finishing an agility title at this trial. HOW TO ENTER THE TRIAL Use the official entry form that accompanies this premium. Be sure you include the correct amount of money. PLEASE DO NOT STAPLE your check to the entry form. Entry fees of $24 for the dog s first entry per day and $14 for the same dog s second entry per day include AKC recording fees of $3 for each entry. A maximum of 10 entries per envelope is allowed. Envelopes with more than 10 entries and/or entries received prior to the opening date will be returned. If you include a legible address, we will notify you of the acceptance status of your entry. Dogs may not switch between Regular and Preferred classes within the weekend. Be sure to circle the DAYS AND CLASSES you want to enter at the top of the form. INSTRUCTIONS Handlers may opt to enter in a higher height division for all Regular titling classes, but not in a division lower than their proper height division. Dogs entered in the Preferred classes must compete at the required jump height and may not compete in a jump height division higher or lower than their proper height division. All dogs that have not been officially measured for an Agility Jump Height Card may still compete; however, they must be measured by a Judge of record, an Agility Field Representative, or a Volunteer Measuring Official, prior to running. If measured by the Judge of record, that measurement will be valid for this trial or back-to-back trials only. If a measurement is necessary, it is the exhibitor's responsibility to have their dog(s) measured prior to running.
