3 2014 CONFORMATION CHALLENGE TROPHIES BISS Ch. Asterling s Running Ram-Pant, SDHF Trophy This trophy was rededicated in 2008 by Phyllis Ward and is awarded to the HVGRC member-owned Golden Retriever winning the greatest number of Best of Breed awards during the calendar year. Am. Bda. Can. Ch. Amberglo s Sandy Hill Splash, OD Trophy This trophy was rededicated in 1998 by Karen B. Fennikoh and is awarded to the HVGRC member-owned Golden Retriever winning the greatest number of Best of Opposite Sex awards during the calendar year FIELD CHALLENGE TROPHY Windrush Field Trophy This trophy was donated in 1995 by Lisa Weinberg and Art Breslau. It is awarded to the HVGRC member-owned Golden Retriever who accumulates the most points in AKC Hunt Tests, licensed field trials, WC/WCX tests and Gun Dog stakes during the calendar year. In case of a tie, both names will be engraved on the trophy OBEDIENCE CHALLENGE TROPHY OTCH U-CDX Rushmore s Excaliber Can Do UDX2 JH MX MXJ RE WCX OBHF Trophy This trophy, dedicated in 2006 and re-dedicated in 2008 by Dorita Slate, is awarded to the HVGRC member-owned Golden Retriever who accumulates the greatest number of points during the calendar year.

4 2014 AGILITY TROPHIES MACH 3 Rose Lake s Small Miracle UD JH NJP CCA WC VCX ADHF Master Agility Trophy This trophy was donated in 2002 by Paul and Marilyn Ingvoldstad. It is awarded to the HVGRC member-owned Golden Retriever who accumulated the most points in AKC agility trials during the calendar year. One point is awarded for each MACH point earned plus 37 points are awarded for each Double Q. MACH 2 Cross Creek Swatch of Pebwin ADHF Agility Challenge Trophy This trophy was donated in 2005 by Christine Miele. It is awarded to the HVGRC member-owned Golden Retriever who has the winning record in Novice and Open level agility during the calendar year. Three standard and three jumpers scores may be submitted and is added to the difference between standard course time and the dog s time. The highest combined score earns the trophy.

6 CONFORMATION CHALLENGE TROPHY BISS Ch. Asterling s Running Ram-Pant, SDHF Trophy AWARDED TO: GCH. AWARD S FOLLOW YOUR BLISS CGC Owner: Phyllis Ward Call Name: Campbell Campbell (GCH Award s Follow Your Bliss CGC) is the beloved dog of the late Phyllis Ward. Phyllis celebrated Campbell s recent Grand Championship title as well as the coveted Award of Merit at the 2014 GRCA National. We are sure Phyllis would have been especially touched and thrilled to celebrate Campbell s HVGRC Challenge Trophy awards as well, especially since his name will now be engraved upon the trophy which she had rededicated in 2008: the BISS CH. ASTERLING S RUNNING RAM-PANT, SDHF trophy. The fact that Campbell achieved such success as a Veteran Golden Retriever in the Conformation arena makes this even more outstanding. We salute Phyllis for all her tireless work for the HVGRC and the enthusiasm she brought with her to every event. Campbell certainly always held a special place in her heart and will hold a place of honor in HVGRC history.

8 FIELD CHALLENGE TROPHY Windrush Field Trophy AWARDED TO: MY STARDUST MELODY, CDX RN MH WCX Owner: Susan Handelman Call Name: Heather Although Heather completed her Master Hunter Title in 2012, she passed 6 more Master tests in (2013 was a washout because I was immobilized by a painful pinched nerve). The most exciting event in 2014 for me was Heather s 2 nd place in an all-breed licensed Qualifying stake designated by three stars after her name. She is now Qualified All-Age. The GRCA News shows only four other Goldens at this level during the calendar year 2014, and three of these were professionally trained. I am so lucky to have this talented, eager and loving partner who makes training and competing fun.

9 OBEDIENCE CHALLENGE TROPHY OTCH U-CDX Rushmore s Excaliber Can Do UDX2 JH MX MXJ RE WCX OBHF Trophy AWARDED TO: GAYLAN S SILVER SPRINGS DUCKS GOTTA FLY, CDX SH AX MXJ MXF WCX Owner: Helen Sherman Call Name: Scoot Scoot, I am having so much fun with this girl. She is amazing, very bright and absorbs and retains everything we do. She is ONE big sponge. She loves to be working and training. Just bring it on. Scoot is excelling in field, and agility. She had 5 passes in a row for her Senior Hunter title. Scoot loves everyone she meets, children, adults and dogs. When she is working she is all business. Scoot is a real love the closer she is to you the better. I just adore this girl.

11 AGILITY CHALLENGE TROPHY MACH2 Cross Creek Swatch of Pebwin ADHF Agility Challenge Trophy AWARDED TO: GAYLAN S HEARTS AFIRE, AX AXJ OF WC CGC Owner: Phoebe Teramoto Call Name: Kindle Kindle went to the GRCA nationals and earned two Q s in agility and a JH leg and her WC with flying colors. She is an absolute dream to run and own. I am having SO much fun with her.

12 MACH2 GAYLAN S BET ON IT AT TERREVERN, BN TQX MJC MXG MFS VC JH WC CCA Owner: Phoebe Teramoto Call Name: Bette It s hard to believe Bette has become the grand dam of the house. She has way surpassed any goals I set for us. But, the coolest thing ever is she doesn t act or look a day over 3 except her gray face haha. She is the best big sister too. She is shown next to her parade of champions ribbon from the GRCA national in her photo.

13 HELEN S GIFT, PARHELION S RYAN OF THE HIGHLANDS, OA OAJ NF Owner: Joe Chvastek Call Name: Ryan Helen s Gift, Parhelion s Ryan of the Highlands (also goes by Flyin Ryan, Ryan, Ry, Ishkabibble, and Screwball). Whatever we call her she s always ready for anything. Especially agility. She has no problem offering her opinion of the agility course with her yapping while running. She s a ROCKET looking for a place land. As she hits the contact obstacles (not the contact zones as much as we d like), her feeling is why do I have to stop it takes time.i want to fly (hence Flyin Ryan). Her speed is teaching me a whole new way to run. We only competed in 3 trials this year (due to handler knee issues) though Q d in each. With my knee replacement done, I can t wait for the Fall trails so we can rock the place. But the thing that we love her for most is her sweetness.

14 MY STARDUST MELODY, CDX RN MH WCX Owner: Susan Handelman Call Name: Heather Heather s latest title is Qualified All-Age, which is earned when a dog places 1 st or 2 nd in a licensed Qualifying stake at a Field Trial. There were 22 dogs in competition that day. Only 4 finished, and of these, she was the only Golden. What makes this extra special is that Heather is completely amateurtrained by me, and we do not travel South for winter training. Our local groups do mostly hunt test preparation, and her own natural talent has compensated for her lack of field trial experience. I am very proud of her.
