4 Show Regulations 1. The Show will be held under licence and Rules of the Irish Kennel Club Ltd. as in force on the 1st. January ALL DOGS MUST BE REGISTERED WITH THE IRISH KENNEL CLUB LTD. 3. Venue- The Show will be held at The I.K.C. National Show Centre, Cloghran, Dublin. on Sunday 6 th August between the hours of 9.00 am. and 6 pm. Judging: Breed Will commence at 9.00 am. Junior 9.00am.. Obedience and Agility at 9.30 am. 4. ENTRY FEE:-Breed Classes for 1st dog, IKC Levy 1.00 Additional Dogs 9.00 each. Baby Puppy each Dogs not for Competition 5.00 each Obedience: Beginners, Novice, Class A, Class B per dog per class Obedience: Ch. Open Class C per dog per class Agility 6.00 per dog per class Unlimited Combined Obedience/Agility per dog Brace/Champion/Puppy Stakes 9.00 per dog per class Junior Handling Free if entered in Breed otherwise 5.00 Car Park: 5.00 on the day. Eamil: gerpott@iol.ie Enter online at Online entry closes at midnight on the 10 th July 2017 The promoting body shall have the right to refuse any entry, Exhibitors will be expected to pay the appropriate Bank fee for any cheque returned R. D. by the Bank. 5. Rosettes: Will be given for Green Star; Best of Breed; Groups; all Stakes, Obedience, Agility, Junior Handling and Best in Show winners. Special prizes offered for competition by or through a Special Club shall be collected and distributed by that club. 6. Each Exhibitor shall, be responsible for keeping their exhibit under control at all times. 2

5 No Dogs shall be left shut in cars; and if in trailers or boxes must be kept under constant supervision. All Exhibitors are required to bring a scooper and plastic bag etc., to remove any fouling made by their dogs and any other litter on any part of the Show Ground; as they are liable to a fine of 25 for failure to do so. Exhibitors will not be allowed to wear a badge or other decoration in the Breed Judging Ring, save the Ring Number of the exhibit which must be displayed clearly by the exhibitor. No person will be allowed in any judging ring save the Judge, Show Official and Exhibitors taking in a dog for adjudication. 7. Judging: Judging will commence at am. In the event of the appointed Judge failing to keep his or her appointment the Promoting Body shall have the right to appoint another Judge or Judges in his or her place, and the Promoting Body further reserves the right to change the Judge in any breed when it is found necessary. The Promoting Body shall not be responsible for the exhibition of any dog in the Ring. In the event of any exhibitor requesting a Steward or other official to Handle his or her exhibit in the ring, any such action is on the behalf of the owner and does not involve the Promoting Body in any responsibility whatever for loss or damage, consequential or otherwise. 8. Catalogues: The Promoting Body shall not be responsible for any loss, direct or indirect, occasioned by any mistake or omission in the Catalogue. In any such case the exhibitor should immediately inform the ring Steward if the judging is in progress, otherwise the exhibitor should immediately report the Catalogue inaccuracy at the Secretary s Office 9. Winners: Any Special Award (s) presented by this Society at the Show must be returned IMMEDIATELY should the winning exhibit (s) later be disqualified by the Irish Kennel Club for any reason. 10. Notice: All announcements appearing in any Canine Publication prior to the closing of entries or in reference to any alterations made by the Promoting Body in the Schedule or in these Regulations shall be deemed sufficient notice there of. 11. Interpretation: The Promoting Body shall be the Show Committee within the meaning of the I.K.C. Rules and all disputes, if any, shall be dealt with by the Committee. Parties to any dispute shall have the right to appeal to the Irish Kennel Club Ltd Accident or Damage: The Promoting Body will not be responsible for any loss or damage sustained by exhibits, exhibitors, or other persons attending the show through accident or otherwise. 13. Dogs on Show Grounds: Only dogs for competition are allowed at the ring side. NO PENS AT RINGSIDE PLEASE KEEP THE WALKWAYS CLEAR Videos It is a Kennel Club regulation that permission must be sought from the Show promoting body for the use of video or other recording equipment. Permission must also be obtained from the judge in the ring on the day. 3

6 RULES FOR GROUP JUDGING & BEST IN SHOW 1. The Promoting Body will not accept any responsibility nor be under any obligation to see that dogs eligible to compete are exhibited in their particular Groups, or for Best in Show, other than announcing in the ring that judging is about to take place. The Promoting Body will not accept any responsibility in the case of an exhibit that is excluded from competing in a Group, owing to the judging of its breed not having been completed, or for any other reason. 2. Competition in Group Classes will be confined to undefeated winners in their breed. 3. No dog shall be entitled to compete in a Group where any prize or award has been withheld from it in its breed at the show. 4. A fee will not be payable for entry in any of the Groups nor for Best in Show. 5. Groups will be divided into ten sections - as defined in the Irish Kennel Club Rules & Regulations. 6. Upon entering the Group Ring Competitors must produce their correct ring number. 7. In each Group and Best in Show the judges shall make the following awards: viz, 1st, 2nd, 3 rd etc. to 4 th place, absentees MUST be marked. 8. Competition for Best in Show and Reserve Best in Show is confined to the winners of the ten groups. 9. If your Group Judging has not commenced before 4:30 p.m. a Best of Breed winner may leave the show but must notify the Show Secretary in writing that the exhibit will not be present for the Group judging. Otherwise all exhibits qualified for the Group must be exhibited therein. An exhibit failing to report for the Group will incur a fine of 50 and be disqualified from all wins on the day unless a valid reason is lodged with the Show Secretary before judging commences. Notice for schedule The Stakes Classes scheduled at this Show are separate from the Breed Judging and do not come under the rules of the Green Star System, e.g. An exhibit which has been beaten in a Stakes Class but wins Best of Breed may proceed to compete in its relevant Group. All exhibits who wish to enter Stakes Classes must be entered in their relevant Breed Classes with the exception of Champions/Veterans who may enter the Stakes Class only. A separate judge other than the Best in Show or Group judge must be used for stakes classes (Best in Show qualified) Procedures will come into effect from the 1 st January 2011 PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOUR DOG IS REGISTERED AND /OR TRANSFERRED COR- RECTLY BEFORE THE DAY OF THE SHOW, AND WHERE POSSIBLE ENSURE TO FILL IN THE REGISTRATION ON THE ENTRY FORM. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY INVOLVE A 130 FINE WHICH SHALL BE A NORMAL I. K. C. OFFICE ROUTINE. 4

Breeds Not Separately Listed Breeds entered in the Breeds Not Separately Listed at National Championship Shows will be entered into their appropriate breed class and the breed listed in the Catalogue. A Judge may award a Green Star and Best of Breed in each breed to any dog unbeaten and eligible, if in his/ her opinion they are of sufficient quality and graded excellent or in the case of puppies Very Promising Effective from 1 st January Cropped Dogs Cropped dogs are not permitted to be exhibited at any Irish Kennel Club licenced event. 5

9 OBEDIENCE CLASS DEFINITIONS PRE-BEGINNERS Confined to dogs or handlers which have not been awarded two first prizes (on or under 10 marks) in any obedience test under Irish Kennel Club Limited Rules or under any Kennel Club recognised by The Irish Kennel Club Limited. Handlers will not be penalised for encouragement or extra commands except in the sit and down stay tests. In these stay tests handlers will face their dogs. Judge or Steward may not use the words 'Last Command' except in the sit and down stay tests. BEGINNERS Confined to dogs or handlers which have not been awarded an Obedience Green Star or awarded three or more first prizes (on or under 10 marks) in any obedience test under Irish Kennel Club Rules or under any Kennel Club recognised by The Irish Kennel Club. NOVICE Confined to dogs which have not been awarded an Obedience Green Star or four or more first prizes (on or under 10 marks under Irish Kennel Club regulations) in any Obedience class other than in Beginners Obedience class. CLASS A OBEDIENCE Confined to dogs which have not been awarded an Obedience Green Star or four or more first prizes (on or under 10 marks under Irish Kennel Club regulations) in any Obedience Class other than in Beginners and Novice Obedience classes. CLASS B OBEDIENCE Confined to dogs which have not been awarded a Green Star or four or more first prizes (on or under 10 marks under Irish Kennel Club regulations) in any Obedience Classes with the exception of Beginners, Novice or Graduate Obedience classes. CLASS C CH. OBEDIENCE: Open to all. AGILITY CLASS DEFINITIONS Grade 1 For handlers or dogs which have not gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Irish Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows. N.B. Owners, handlers or dogs previously qualified out of Grade 1, are not eligible for this class Grade 2 For handlers or dogs which have qualified out of Grade 1 but have not gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Grade 2 at Irish Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows, or elected to progress on points from Grade 1. N.B. Owners, handlers or dogs previously qualified out of Grade 1, are not eligible for this class. Grade 3 Open to dogs which are not eligible for Grade 1 or 2 or have elected to progress on points from Grade 2 at Irish Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows and dogs which are not eligible for Grade 4, 5, 6 or 7. Grade 4 Open to dogs which have gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Grade 3 or elected to progress on points from Grade 3 at Irish Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows and dogs which are not eligible for Grade 3, 5, 6 or 7. Grade 5 Open to dogs which have gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Grade 4 or elected to progress on points from Grade 4 at Irish Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows and dogs which are not eligible for Grade 3, 4, 6 or 7. Grade 6 Open to dogs which have gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Grade 5 at Irish Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows and dogs which are not eligible for Grade 3, 4, 5 or 7. Grade 7 Open to dogs which have gained a minimum of four first places at Grade 6 at Irish Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows. Two first places must be gained in Agility (not Jumping) Classes. Dogs entered in this class are not eligible to challenge for the Green Star and may not take part in any further competition except Best Baby Puppy In Show. Puppy Class is confined to dogs over 6 and under 12 months of age on the day of the Show Junior Class is confined to dogs over 9 and under 18 months of age on the day of the Show. Intermediate Class is confined to dogs over 15 and under 24 months on the day of the Show. Adult Class is for dogs between 24 and 36 calendar months of age on the first day of the Show. Open Class is confined to dog over 15 months on the day of the Show. Champion Class is confined to dogs that have attained the title of Champion under the Rules & Regulations of the Irish Kennel Club or other Kennel Authority recognised by the Irish Kennel Club. Veteran Class is confined to dog over 8 years of age on the day of the Show Field Trial Class is confined to dogs who have won at least a reserve in a Puppy, Novice, Derby or Open Stake as defined in the Field Trial Rules & Regulations. A copy of the relevant win at Field Trial must accompany the entry form. Please Note: A Veteran Dog who is a Champion may enter in either Veteran or Champion Class but not both. N.B.: A Dog or Bitch may be entered in ONE BREED CLASS ONLY (No double entries) Brace Class is for two exhibits of the same or different sexes of the same breed belonging to the same person, each exhibit having been entered in some class other than brace or team. The decisive date in respect of age is the day the dog is shown. 8
