DIRECTIONS TO TRIAL SITE California State University East Bay Carlos Bee Blvd, Hayward, California From Oakland Area, Take Highway 580 Eastbound to Hayward and exit on the Hayward exit. Continue along Foothill Blvd for 1.5 miles, stay to the left and merge onto Mission Blvd. Turn left onto Carlos Bee Blvd, go up hill, and stay to the far right to enter the campus. At stop sign, turn left and proceed to rear of campus. Turn right at stop sign, and right into Lot K (Theatre). From San Jose Area, take Hwy 880 North to Hayward. Exit on the Jackson Street exit eastbound. Turn right at first signal onto Santa Clara which becomes Harder Road. Follow Harder to campus. Park in Lot K (Theatre). From SF Peninsula, take the San Mateo Bridge (Hwy 92) east to Hayward. Continue past the intersection with Hwy 880. Turn right at first signal onto Santa Clara which becomes Harder Road. There is to be NO DRIVING ONTO THE GROUNDS. Be prepared to haul your equipment along a paved walkway to the trial site. Limited shaded areas are available under trees for setups, but you may want to bring canopies to protect your dogs. ENTRIES NOT ON OFFICIAL AKC FORMS or photocopies of entry forms without the agreement and rules on the reverse of the Official AKC entry forms are NOT ACCEPTABLE. 2. CHANGES, ADDITIONS, OR CORRECTIONS to entry forms must be received IN WRITING prior to close of entries. and faxed changes are acceptable. Telephone changes are not acceptable. OWNERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ERRORS on entry blanks, for entering the same dog twice, or for entering a dog in a class in which it is ineligible to compete, regardless of who makes such entries. 3. An AKC RECORDING FEE of $.50 first entry only and an AKC EVENT SERVICE FEE of $3.00 per entry will be required for each dog entered at any Licensed or Member Club Show, Obedience Trial or Tracking Test. An AKC Recording Fee of $3.00 will be required for each entry in an AKC Member or Licensed Rally Trial. All Recording and Event Service Fees are paid to the American Kennel Club. 4. ENTRY FEES WILL NOT BE REFUNDED in the event of errors or cancellation of entries after the published closing date, nor in the event a dog is absent, disqualified, sick, lame, excused by the Veterinarian, or Judge, or barred from competition by the Trial Committee. 5. BITCHES IN SEASON are not permitted to compete in Obedience or Rally classes. If a female is withdrawn from competition for coming into season and the Trial Secretary is notified no later than ½ hour prior to the start of the first class, then the club will refund the entry fee. A processing fee of $8.00 per entry will be retained. A signed veterinarian s letter stating the bitch is in season must be provided as documentation with the request or within one week of the trial at the latest to receive a refund. 6. THE WELL-BEING OF DOGS and participants is of paramount importance. If, because of riots, civil disturbances, fire, Act of God, act of a public enemy, strikes, extreme weather conditions (including but not limited to extreme heat, floods, hurricanes, lightning, or earthquakes), or any other acts beyond the control of the management, it is impossible to open or complete the trial, no refunds of entry fee(s) will be made. DO NOT LEAVE ANIMALS IN A HOT VEHICLE. 7. CONFIRMATION OF ENTRY AND SCHEDULE OF JUDGING TIME will be sent to the address on the official AKC entry form after the closing date. If an exhibitor has not received a copy of the Schedule within seven (7) days of the show, the Trial Secretary should be contacted. 8. Consult Judging Program for time of judging. DOGS MUST BE READY FOR JUDGING. The Club and/or its Trial Secretary will not be responsible for and are not obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agent of class judging. Judges will not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners or their agent alone are responsible for the timely presence of their dogs in the judging ring. Dogs may be excused from the trial after their class has been judged, if not eligible for further judging or awards. 9. THE TRIAL-GIVING CLUB, THE TRIAL SECRETARY, their agents or employees assume no responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury sustained by exhibitors, handlers, spectators, or to any of their dogs or property, and further assume no responsibility for injury to any child not under the control of their parents or guardians. 10. ALL AWARDS MUST BE CLAIMED THE DAY OF TRIAL; NONE WILL BE MAILED. 11. TRANSFERS ( MOVE-UPS ) will be permitted provided space is available in the class, and provided the Trial Secretary is notified in writing at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the trial. 5 AKC Rules, Regulations, Policies and Guidelines are available on the American Kennel Club web site AGREEMENT I (we) agree that the club holding this event has the right to refuse this entry for cause which the club shall deem sufficient. (Variety) If you are entering a dog of breed in which there are varieties for show purposes, please designate the particular variety you are entering, i.e., Cocker Spaniel (solid color black, ASCOB, parti-color), Beagles (not exceeding 13 in, over 13 in. but not exceeding 15 in.), Dachshunds (longhaired, smooth, wirehaired), Collies (rough, smooth), Bull Terriers (colored, white), Manchester Terriers (standard, toy), Chihuahuas (smooth coat, long coat), English Toy Spaniels (King Charles and Ruby, Blenheim and Prince Charles), Poodles (toy, miniature, standard). 2. The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed competition: Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs which according to their owners records, have completed the requirements for a championship, but whose championships are unconfirmed. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed competition is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship. 3. (Event Class) Consult the classification in this premium list. If the event class in which you are entering your dog is divided, then, in addition to designating the class, specify the particular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e., age division, color division, weight division. 4. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for a show closed. If a registered dog has been acquired by a new owner, it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any show for which entries close after the date acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registration certificate indicating that the dog is recorded in his name. State on entry form whether transfer application has been mailed to A.K.C. (For complete rule refer to Chapter 11, Section 3). 5. Mixed Breed dogs entering classes for Agility, Obedience, and Rally trials should mark Breed as All-American Dog/Mixed Breed. Sire and Dam information shall remain blank for mixed breed entrants. A signed veterinarian s letter stating the bitch is in season must be provided as documentation with the request or within one week of the trial at the latest to receive a refund. 8. CONFIRMATION OF ENTRY AND SCHEDULE OF JUDGING TIME will be sent to the address on the official AKC entry form after the closing date. If an exhibitor has not received a copy of the Schedule within five (5) days of the show, the Trial Secretary should be contacted. 9. Dogs must be kept on leash except when in the judging ring. There will be no drilling nor intensive or corrective training of dogs on the trial grounds. 10. Consult Judging Program for time of judging. DOGS MUST BE READY FOR JUDGING. The Club and/or Trial Secretary will not be responsible for and are not obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agent of class judging. Judges will not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners or their agent alone are responsible for the timely presence of their dogs in the judging ring. Dogs may be excused from the trial after their class has been judged, if not eligible for further judging or awards. 11. Fremont Dog Training Club will exercise every precaution for the safety of dogs exhibited, but it must be understood that neither the Club nor California State University Easy Bay will be responsible for any injury or loss. The Club, Trial Secretary, California State University East Bay, and their agents or employees assume no responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury sustained by exhibitors, handlers, spectators, or to any of their dogs or property, and further assume no responsibility for injury to any child not under the control of their parents or guardians. 12.
