Bitches in season and lame hounds will be excused. Hounds not present at the time of roll call will be scratched. Muzzles are not required; it is the owner s responsibility to determine if their hound should be muzzled. Hounds must be one year or older on the day of the test or trial. Any hound that displays aggressive behavior during test hours will be excused for the day. A penalty of $5 will be assessed for any loose hound not competing in the course in process. Exhibitors should follow their veterinarian s recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases and have appropriate vaccinations. Eligibility Eligible Breeds and Registry Only purebred Afghan Hounds, Basenjis, Borzoi, Greyhounds, Ibizan Hounds, Irish Wolfhounds, Italian Greyhounds, Pharaoh Hounds, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Salukis Scottish Deerhounds, Sloughi and Whippets that are one year of age or older and have been registered with the American Kennel Club or an AKC recognized foreign registry or that have been granted an ILP/PAL may be entered. Effective January 1, 2008: Azawakh, Portuguese Podengo and Thai Ridgeback 1 year of age or older, that have been recorded with the Foundation Stock Service (FSS) or that have been granted al ILP/PAL are eligible to enter Lure Coursing Tests and Trials for Qualifying Courser Certification, Junior, Senior and Master Courser titles but are not eligible for championship points. Championship points are awarded toward Field Champion (FC) title General Information There will be a Port-O-John on the field Please pick up after your dog Weather in Wyoming is unpredictable-very windy, hot, snow, rain-bring rain gear, hats, and layers of clothing, sunglasses and sun screen. Bring stakes for your tents. There is no shade on the field, Bring water. Some first aid supplies will be available at the field. Please have a current rabies certificate available for each hound present. Rabies vaccination should be current, as required for the state you live in. Entry Fees Early JC & QC test entry: $10.00 per hound Early Trial Entry- $20 First Hound, $17 for all other hounds in same household Day of Event Entries (Test or Trial- $25 per hound) Hounds completing a QC pay $10.00 to enter the trial the same day. 3 Tests Offered (JC AND QC) JUNIOR COURSER TEST: Open to all hounds of an eligible breed at least 12 months of age. A hound running alone shall receive a certification from a judge on one date and a second certification from a different judge at the later date, stating that the hound completed a 600 yard course with a minimum of four (4) turns. The hound must complete the course with enthusiasm and without interruption. QULIFYING COURSER CERTIFICATE: A hound at least 12 months of age (Qualifying Hound) running with another hound of the same breed or another breed with a similar running style (Testing Hound) shall receive certification from a licensed judge. The hound must complete the course with enthusiasm and without interruption, sufficiently course the lure and not course the Testing Hound. The judge will certify that Qualifying Hound ran cleanly and did not appear to present a hazard to the Testing Hound at any point in the qualifying course. This certificate is required to enter a hound in an Open Stake. The handler presenting the Qualifying Hound shall be responsible for providing the Test Hound for the qualifying course. Upon successful completion for the Qualified Courser test, the judge completes a certificate and awards it to the handler. This certificate must be submitted to the host club with the hound s first entry in a Open Stake. The certificate must be included when the results of the trail are sent to the AKC. It is strongly recommended that every Qualifying Hound have been run previously alone and that to the handler s satisfaction runs cleanly and keenly. It is additionally recommended that every Qualifying Hound practices with other hounds prior to being presented for a qualifying coursers test. It is to be understood by all that training prior to running a hound with other hounds in competition is essential to ensure that the hound is prepared to run safely with other hounds. STAKES OFFERED: Open: Open to all hounds of an eligible breed that have obtained AKC Qualified Courser Certificate. This requirement will be waived for hounds that have run in the Open Class prior to January 1, This requirement will be waived for ASFA or CKC Field Champions. Copy of Field Champion title certificate must be submitted to host club when entering first AKC Open Stake. Hounds that have earned an AKC Field championship title are not eligible to enter the Open Stake. Special: Open to all hounds that are eligible to enter the Open Stake and have earned their AKC Field Championship title. Championship points earned from Specials Stake will count toward LCX titles. Open Veteran: Open to all hound which are eligible to enter Open or Special Stakes and have reached veteran age on the day of the trial (t years for IW s, 7 years for Whippets, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, 6 years of all other breeds). Points earned in Veterans will count toward Field Championship or Lure Courser Excellence titles. Singles: Open to all sighthound breeds approved to participate in AKC Lure Coursing trials. Hounds with breed disqualifications are eligible to enter. For full details see: Best in Field will be Offered Both Days FSS breeds (Azawakh, Cineco Dell Etna, Norrbattenspets, Portuguese Podengo, Sloughi and Thai Rideback) are not eligible to compete for Best in Field. All hounds run twice, in trios if possible or braces unless excused. Hounds not present at the time of roll call will be scratched after a 5 minute grace period. Each entry will be examined at inspection for breed disqualifications. Spayed and neutered hounds, without breed disqualifications, may be entered. Battery powered, continuous loop lure machines will be used. The lure will consist of white and/or black plastic strips. Backup equipment will be available. The members of the reserve the right to alter the course plan as required by weather and/or field conditions on the day of the event. A penalty of $5 will be assessed for any loose hound not competing in the course in progress. Elevation is 5,640 feet. Both days the course layouts include up and downhill slopes. RMBC recommends that your hounds be in good physical condition before attempting the course. RMBC will use a battery-powered, continuous loop machine. The lure will consist of white plastic bags. The course will be reversed for finals, BOB and again for BIF. I (WE) AGREE THAT ANY CAUSE OF ACTION CONTROVERSY OR CLAIM ARISNG OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE ENTRY, EXHIBITION OR ATTENDANCE AT THE EVENT BETWEEN THE AKC AND MYSELF (OURSELVES) OR AS TO THE CONSTRUCTION, INTERPRETIATION AND EFFECT OF THIS AGREEMENT SHALL BE SETTLED BY ARBITRATION PURSUANT TO THE APPLICABLE RULES OF THE AMERICAN ARBITRATION ASSOCIATION. HOWEVER, PRIOR TO ARBITRATION ALL APPLICABLE AKC BYLAWS, RULES, REGULATIONS AND PROCEDURES MUST FIRT BE FOLLOWED AS SET FORTH IN THE AKC CHARTER AND BYLAWS, RULES, REGULAJIONS, PUBLISHED POLICIES AND GUIDELINES. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry, I (we) agree to abide by the rules and regulations of the American Kennel Club in effect at the time of this trial, and by the rules and regulations appearing in the premium list for this trail, and entry for. I (we) certify and represent that the dog entered in, not a hazard to persons or other dogs. The entry is submitted for acceptance on the fore going representation and Agreement. I (we) agree that the club holding this event has the right to refuse this entry for cause which the club shall deem sufficient. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prize money, ribbons or trophies. I (we) agree not to hold the AKC, the event giving club, their members, directors, governors officer, agent superintendents or event secretary and the owner or lesser of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging this event, harmless from any claim or loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or ground or near any entrance thereto and I (we) person all assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim, and I (we) further agree not to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim of loss, injury or damage to this dog. Additionally, I (we) herby assume the sole responsibility for and agree to indemnify, defend and save the aforementioned parties harmless from any and all loss and expense (including legal fees) by reason of the liability, imposed by law upon any of the aforementioned parties for damage because of bodily injures, including death at any time resulting therefore, sustained by any person or persons, including myself (ourselves) or on account of damage to property, arising of of or in consequence of my (our) participation in this event, however such, injuries death or property damage may be caused, and whether or not the same may have been cause or may be alleged to have been cause by the negligence of the aforementioned parties or any of their employees, agents, or any other persons. A hound must have received this certification to be eligible to compete in an AKC Lure Coursing Trial in the Open or Open Veteran stake.
