After I was shown an xray of my dog's abdomen at the vet's office I realized I don't have a clear idea of where the organs are in a dog. The book includes detailed drawings of the bones, muscles, internal organs, blood vessels, and nerves. For the skull the book shows variation in head shapes (think bulldog versus greyhound). Although it is overly detailed for the typical dog owner, I find it interesting because I teach human anatomy and I am just learning where everything is located in a dog. I think this book would be most useful for vet techs but dog breeders and trainers would probably also find it useful. This is an incredible book!! I teach canine massage therapy certification programs and am switching to this anatomy book the next time I offer my training. It is comprehensive, yet easy to understand. My current students looked at the copy that I ordered and several of them are planning on ordering it as well! Really great perfect for my studiesused perfectly together with my classes I use this for teaching anatomy for an online program. I use it as a supplement book and allow the student to use it for coloring or just as reference. It should not be used alone if you are really trying to learn anatomy of a canine for credit course. But as a supplement, it is excellent! Great book to get to know how things are working in our dogs. Very helpful for considering going into the Animal Healthcare field of work. Love the illustrations and the way things are explained. Easy to understand, fast delivery and great quality! I haven't finished it yet but I'm using it to help study canine massage therapy! There is SO much information in this book. Great illustrations. I will refer to this book a lot for my family dogs. Buy this book if you wonder how a dog's body works. Great for learning and memorizing canine anatomy. Easy to copy and color in the muscles which made it easier for me to remember things.
