NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS The safety of the dogs is our primary concern. By entering this trial, exhibitors acknowledge that they are familiar with the rules and regulations of this sport and that their dogs are familiar with and able to perform all obstacles safely. Puppies under 6 months of age are strictly prohibited from the grounds. Telegraph, Telephone, and Unsigned Entries Can not be Accepted. Entries not on official AKC entry forms and photocopies of entry forms without agreement and rules on the reverse side of the official AKC entry form are NOT ACCEPTED. Entry fees will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee. No entry fee will be refunded if the trial cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire, an act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, or any other cause beyond the control of the organizing committee. Since Bitches in season are not permitted to compete in Agility trials, the Club will refund all but eight dollars ($8) of the entry fee for bitches unable to compete for that reason. The Trial Secretary must be notified of such claim for refund at the show or by letter postmarked by September 5, 2003 or earlier. Make all Check and Money Orders payable to CKC. CANADIAN exhibitors must make fees payable in U.S.FUNDS. Please mail checks or money orders with entries. Trial secretary assumes no responsibility for cash sent through the mail. No Refund for Duplicate Entries. Every effort will be made to find all duplicate entries; however, if entry has been processed, no refund will be made. Error on Entry Blanks. Owners are responsible for errors in making out entry form, whoever may make such errors, and no entry fee will be refunded in event of such errors or cancellation of entries after the published closing dates. It is expressly understood that exhibitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dog(s) and/or children. Any exhibitor whose dog(s) or children create unnecessary disturbances or repeatedly engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior may, at the discretion of the Show Committee, be asked to leave the show site. In such case, no refund of any fees paid will be made. All dogs must be on a leash at all times except when in the ring or when in the designated agility warm-up area. Exhibitors are responsible for cleaning up after their dog(s). Any exhibitor failing to do so may be excused without benefit of refund if the Show Committee deems the exhibitor to be in violation of this requirement. Exhibitors are responsible for being at the ring gate when it is their turn to run. Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. The Trial Secretary will add a $25.00 collection fee to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks from the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY basis. Entries will be limited each day to 300 dogs in Standard classes (combined Regular & Preferred) and 300 dogs in Jumpers With Weaves (combined Regular and Preferred) Total 600 Runs Per Day. There will be no equipment familiarization offered at this trial. Boxed lunches and drinks will be available at show site. Catoctin Kennel Club will not be responsible for any lost or damaged items left at the show site.

Dogs may be moved up to a higher class at the request of the owner as a result of qualifying for an Agility title provided that the request is made to the Trial Secretary. Move-ups for the September 6 th and 7 th trial must be sent in writing to the Trial Secretary no later than 12 noon EDT on August 21st. There will be no move-ups Sept. 6 th for the Sept. 7 th agility trial. Continue north on US-15N and take the exit for Rt. 26 East (Libertytown/Walkersville). Continue east ½ mile to the first traffic light at Rt. 355, Routzan Way. Turn right, go approximately 150 yards to a stop sign and turn right again (Rt. 355, Market St. South). Go ¾ mile to Rose Hill Manor on your right, just past the Coca Cola plant. Turn right into the grounds. Go to the top of the hill. From the West: Take I-70 East to US- 15 North. Continue north on US-15 and proceed as above. From the South: Take I-270 North, which becomes US-15 as you enter Frederick. Continue north on US-15 and proceed as above. Do not be tempted to take Rt. 355 thru Frederick city traffic, lights, and narrow streets! From the North: Proceed down US-15 South towards Frederick. Watch for sign To Rt. 26 and Rt (Just across from Beckley s Motel). Turn left onto Monocacy. Go to the 1 st light and turn right onto Rt. 26. Go to the next light and turn left onto Routzan Way. Go to the stop sign and turn right onto Rt.355. Go approx 1/3 mile and turn right into the park, just past the Coco-Cola plant. A Parking Attendant will direct all parking at Rose Hill Manor. There will be no overnight or RV parking available at the site. There is a WALMART within one mile of the site for RVs. PRIZES OFFERED BY THE CATOCTIN KENNEL CLUB Ribbons will be awarded to the 1 st through 4 th place dog in each jump height in each class. Qualifying ribbons will be awarded to all dogs receiving a qualifying score. Dogs must have qualifying scores to be eligible for prizes. All ribbons must be claimed at the trial, none will be mailed. 4 DOGS ELIGIBLE TO ENTER This trial is open to all dogs over the age of 12 months that are registered with the American Kennel Club or are registerable breeds that have obtained AKC ILP numbers, except bitches in season, aggressive dogs, or dogs suffering from any deformity, injury, or illness which may affect the dog s physical or mental performance. Refer to Chapter 12 of the Registration and Discipline Rules for the listing of registerable breeds that may participate. ENTRY FEES The entry fees are $22 entry for the first dog in first class and $11 second entry same dog same day. RANDOM DRAW RULES Entry to this trial is by AKC RANDOM DRAW method. The drawing is scheduled for July 23, 2003 at 7 PM at Trial Secretary s home, 5502 Bartonsville Road, Frederick, MD Entries will close Tuesday, August 19, 2003 at 6 PM or when the limits described are reached, after which time entries cannot be accepted, cancelled or substituted. A maximum of (10) entries are allowed in each enveloped submitted to the Trial Secretary for Random Draw. Each dog entered is considered a separate entry regardless of the quantity of classes that dog is entered in. Envelopes exceeding the 10 maximum shall be treated as an invalid entry and shall be returned to the sender. A maximum of 55 entries, per day, will be accepted for SHOW WORKERS who agree to work at the trial. Entries for SHOW WORKERS must be identified on the OUTSIDE of the mailing envelope. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SELECT VOLUNTEERS BASED ON THE NUMBER OF DOGS BEING HANDLED. CLASS INFORMATION Novice Agility Class. The Novice Agility class is divided into Division A for persons and dogs that have never acquired an agility title, and Division B for dogs that have acquired the Novice Agility title, persons who have handled a dog to an agility title from any organization and for agility judges. Open Agility Class. Open to dogs that have acquired the Novice Agility or Open Agility titles but which have not acquired the Agility Excellent title. Agility Excellent Class. The Excellent Class is divided into Division A for dogs that have acquired the Open Agility Title but which have not acquired a qualifying score in the Excellent B Class, and the Division B for dogs that have acquired the AX Title and for dogs that have acquired the MX Title. Qualifying scores for the AX Title are acquired in the Excellent A class, and qualifying scores for the MX title and the Master Agility Champion titles are acquired from the Excellent B class. Novice Jumpers With Weaves. The Novice JWW Class is divided into Division A for persons and dogs that have never acquired an agility title, and Division B for dogs that have acquired any agility title, persons that have handled a dog to any agility title, and for agility judges. Open Jumpers with Weaves. The Open JWW Class is open to dogs that have acquired the Novice JWW title or the Open JWW title but which have not acquired a qualifying score towards an Excellent JWW title. Excellent Jumpers with Weaves. The Excellent JWW Class is divided into Division A for dogs that have not acquired the Excellent JWW Title and Division B for dogs that have achieved the Excellent JWW title. PREFERRED CLASS INFORMATION Standard Class and the Preferred JWW Class. There is NO grandfathering of titles from the Regular Class to the Preferred Classes. Preferred Novice Agility Class. The Preferred Novice Agility Class is NOT divided into A & B Divisions. Preferred Open Agility Class. Open to dogs that have acquired the Preferred Novice Agility or Preferred Open Agility titles but which have not acquired the Preferred Agility Excellent title. Preferred Agility Excellent Class. The Preferred Excellent Class is divided into Division A for dogs that have acquired the Preferred Open Agility Title but which have not acquired the AXP title and the Division B for dogs that have acquired the AXP Title and for dogs that have acquired the MXP Title. Preferred Novice Jumpers With Weaves. The Preferred Novice JWW Class is NOT divided into A & B Divisions. Preferred Open Jumpers with Weaves. The Preferred Open JWW Class is open to dogs that have acquired the Preferred Novice JWW title or the Preferred Open JWW title but which have not acquired a qualifying score towards an Preferred Excellent JWW title. Preferred Excellent Jumpers with Weaves. The Preferred Excellent JWW Class is divided into Division A for dogs that have not acquired the Preferred Excellent JWW Title and Division B for dogs that have achieved the Preferred Excellent JWW title. HEIGHT DIVISIONS Owners are responsible for entering the proper height divisions. Judges reserve the right to measure dogs entered in the trial. REGULAR PREFERRED HEIGHT 8 inches 4 inches For dogs 10 inches and under at the withers 12 inches 10 inches For dogs 14 inches and under at the withers 16 inches 12 inches For dogs 18 inches and under at the withers 20 inches 16 inches For dogs 22 inches and under at the withers 24 inches 20 inches For dogs over 22 inches at the withers ****Please attach jump height card to entry.**** Handlers may opt to run at a higher height division but not in a division lower than their proper height division, unless they opt to run in Preferred Classes. Dogs that run in a height division lower than their proper division will be eliminated. EXHIBITOR INFORMATION At the handler s option, dogs may wear flat buckle collars but there shall be no hanging tags or attachments. Choke collars, pinch collars, electric or dummy collars are prohibited. Food and toys are not permitted in the course area and handlers are not permitted to use whistles or other instruments or devices. COURSE FAMILIARIZATION AND WARM-UPS Handlers in all classes are permitted to walk the course without a dog, prior to the start of the class, following the judge s briefing. The walk-through is restricted to handlers entered in that class. A walkthrough period will be held prior to each class, following the judge s briefing. No equipment familiarization will be offered at this event. A warm-up area consisting of a regulation jump shall be provided for all exhibitors. Exhibitors may NOT use the warm-up area to relieve their dogs. Preferred Classes as Outlined below will be offered at this trial. Preferred Classes will run concurrently with the Regular Classes using the same course as the Regular Classes. All dogs entering Preferred Classes for the first time must enter the Novice Level in both the Preferred
