Previously we received an invitation to support the Smithsonian National Postal Museum. As you may already know our club made a gift to the museum and we are recognized on their website Donor Honor Role at the $75+ level. Please take a few minutes to read the information provided on page 5, or visit We will consider nominations submitted by the first meeting in March. You can nominate yourself or somebody else. Please include a brief statement of why you feel your nominee is suited for this role. Since this individual will represent our club nationally it is important that they be enthusiastic and knowledgeable about our club and the hobby. Once the role is accepted the Ambassador will be announced in the April newsletter and at the Plymouth Show. 1

5 The Mission The ambassador s mission is to bridge the gap between the chapter and the APS. An ambassador: Is visible and vocal about society services and benefits and represents the chapter at APS events. Presents regular society updates at each club meeting. Is a messenger of ideas and feedback to APS staff and leadership. Facilitates annual chapter reporting. Helps identify opportunities to grow the hobby and the society. The program is designed to: Increase APS membership. Increase two-way communication with APS chapters. Provide a point person on staff at APS to answer questions and work on concerns that cannot be answered by the ambassador. Have local clubs own a program with support from the national organization Provide recognition for chapters that reach a set of goals. Schedule and conduct forums for area ambassadors at national, regional and local stamp shows. 5
