2 Event Information Event Information About Us HSGKC and KCK Animal Services have built a partnership to save the lives of the pets in the KCK city shelter. This partnership has significantly decreased the KCK city shelter s euthanasia rate since We are a no-kill shelter and find homes for 97% of our pets. We provide adoptions, education programs, and low cost spay/neutering and veterinary services. We are the oldest no-kill animal shelter in the greater KC community, serving homeless animals since We receive no funding from the city, state or federal government or any national humane society, including the Humane Society of the United States. Our no-kill shelter is kept open only through donations from local animal lovers like you. Dog-N-Jog Event Overview The oldest and largest dog run/ walk in the Kansas City area! 1,200 dogs and 2,000 people are estimated to attend The only dog run/walk on the prestigious Country Club Plaza All proceeds benefit The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City DNJ Event Overview The oldest and largest dog run/walk in the Kansas City area! 800 dogs with their families are estimated to attend The only dog run/walk on the prestigious Country Club Plaza All proceeds benefit The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City In 2016 we were able to: Provide veterinary services to 24,817 pets in need Perform 5,757 low cost spay/neuter surgeries Provide pet food and additional financial assistance to 2,005 pets from low income homes through our clinic and Charity Care Pet Program Partner with Kansas City, KS Animal Services to provide basic veterinary care to over 4,011 dogs and cats housed in their shelter. Save the lives of hundreds of sick and injured homeless pets through Gabriel s Fund and our Ray of Hope partnership with KCK Animal Services. Find homes for over 900 pets through our no-kill shelter and our Ray of Hope partnership with the KCK city shelter Benefit from almost 20,000 hours of volunteer service
