We moved to the cold tundra of MN a few years back and Ray can't get enough of fresh, warm laundry and following the sunny spot on the floor. He even survived his first airplane flight! He's almost 7 years old now. He loves sleeping in the closet, demanding dinner, and watching the leaves fall. Still happy and healthy as can be. We love you NATCAT! Ray 4

7 Adoption Stats: Both Facilities In 2017, National Cat Newport Beach and Spring Valley adopted out 93 adult cats compared to 79 in We also adopted out 110 kittens so far this year compared to 128 in That s 203 kitties in forever homes! 8

10 Intake Stats: Both Facilities In 2017, we had a total of 75 adult cats and 137 kittens relinquished to us! That totals 202 cats safe! In 2016, we had a total of 74 adult cats and 141 kittens relinquished to us! That totals 215 cats safe! 14 2018 is National Cat s 50th Anniversary! NatCat Newport will hold the May 20, 2018 fundraiser at the Marriott Back Bay in Newport Beach. NatCat Spring Valley will celebrate our 50 th at Marriott Mission Valley on June 10,

17 Spring Valley Rescue Story: Ariel In June, 7 year old Ariel fell off a telephone pole and cracked her pallet. Very injured and not being able to eat, the local animal shelter asked if NatCat could help so they would not have to euthanize her. The NatCat staff worked with Ariel by offering her love and watering down her food. Soon she began to eat. Over the next few months, she began to heal, and started eating wet food normally. The vet reported that it looked like the injury healed pretty well on its own, there was no surgery needed and that she can begin eating normal dry food. Ariel is now a friendly, adoptable cat who is thriving with very few issues.

18 Newport Rescue Story: Lily Lily came to NatCat and tested positive for FeLV - a disease that shortens the life span of cats significantly. Knowing that we couldn't give her the proper treatment at NatCat, we reached out far and wide to find someone that would be able to take the best care of her. We found Snap Cat - a rescue specializing in FeLV positive cats! They took Lily in, socialized her with cats that had the same infection, and found her a forever home! 18

19 Retirement Story: Wallie When Wallie s owner passed away, it was time for him to join our Retirement community. The problem was that Wallie was in Crescent City, Oregon! But this was no problem for NatCat. We packed up a car and took a round-trip of 1,548 miles to pick him up. Now Wallie is living happily with NatCat. (18 years old) 19

20 2nd Chance Story: Blossom When the rescue worker walked into Hesperia Animal Shelter to pull Blossom, she was no where to be found. Her kennel was empty, but the system said she was still available. Her paperwork was found in the "to be euthanized" pile. The rescue worker brought Blossom to NatCat for a 2 nd chance. The day she became available for adoption at NatCat, we had 2 people fighting to take her home! Now Blossom is in her forever home with Maureen and Gil and they don't plan on ever letting her go! 20

21 Medical Success Story: Molly Molly came to us with stomatitis - an autoimmune disorder that triggers severe inflammation in the tissue of a cats mouth. When symptoms are this severe, the best option is surgery, but a procedure of this kind is costly. Roughly $6,000. Reaching out to our network of volunteers we found a vet office employee who was able to do the procedure for us for only $300! Molly healed up after a few months of daily medication and lots of affection. She stayed with us for a few months, but she won the heart of one of our amazing volunteers, who ended up adopting her. Now Molly is flourishing in her new home! 21
