3 Vlunteering duties These duties may be subject t change. Nt all duties will be available initially, and further pprtunities will becme available n an nging basis Duty 1 Cnserving the Cheetah Time Lcatin Cheetah Outpst Prps required Skulls (replicas) f the fllwing animals (are in the utpst cabinet): African lin African lepard Cheetah Scrub hare Warthg Inflatable glbe t shw histrical and current cheetah range. Other prps already at utpst (N ther cheetah artefacts currently in database) Cheetah cnservatin Why are cheetahs fast becming an endangered species (currently classified as Vulnerable)? Habitat lss Prey lss (frm human hunting f the same animals) Natural reasns: Cheetahs are speed specialists and nt very big/strng. As a result they very ften have their prey stlen by larger strnger predatrs, especially when hunting at night. This has led t them being day active, making it easier fr they their prey t spt them and s mre ften than nt, their hunts are unsuccessful. Persecutin frm livestck wners (believing that they eat their livestck) Very limited genetic variatin makes them vulnerable t disease Lw survival rates f yung (cub killing by ther predatrs + being driven away frm cubs by safari vehicles) What is being dne?
