First, cut out the birds and shadows. Introduce the name of each bird owl, parrot, duck, kingfisher, crow. Then, let your child observe and match one bird, at a time, with its shadow. Owl Parrot Duck Kingfisher Crow Your toddler learns to identify birds and their shadows by observing carefully and then matching.
7 Flashcard Fun Cut out each shadow card to make the flashcard. Kingfisher Crow Parrot Duck Owl Help your child describe each bird the colour, its name, etc.
8 Fingerprint Peacock Peacock is ready to dance! But where did the colours of its feathers go? Help your toddler dab some child-friendly watercolours and create fingerprints to make the feathers of the peacock colourful again. (Note: An image has been given for reference) This is a sensory activity where your toddler dabs paint and creates fingerprints to colour the peacock's feather. Introduce your child to peacock describe it, how it dances, does a peacock fly, etc.
9 Help the Ostrich The ostrich came for a walk, but it seems a little lost. Can you help it? Help your toddler trace along the dotted lines using a crayon to guide the ostrich to its egg. Your toddler draws along the dotted lines that enhances the visual tracking skill. To your child, describe this large flightless bird. Tell a story about the ostrich and its egg.
10 Bird Cube There are many, many birds. But here we have 6 of them. Do you know them? Help your toddler cut and paste the cube together. Let your little one roll the cube like a die. Introduce the name of that bird and describe it. Duck Kingfisher Eagle Peacock Sparrow Ostrich As your toddler rolls the die, it works on the grip and fine motor skills. Ask your child to identify the colours of each bird.
11 My Owl Mask Do you want to turn into an owl? Just colour and put on the mask. Help your toddler colour the owl in any manner using crayons, watercolours, etc. to complete the mask. Then, cut out the circles and string a yarn to complete the mask. It's pretend play time as your child transforms into a little owl. (Note: An image has been given for reference) Your toddler colours the mask and then pretends to be an owl. Introduce your child to this nocturnal bird through a story.
12 Feathers Match The feather are in one column and their corresponding birds in the other. But they are all mixed up! Help your child observe and match each feather to the corresponding bird. Introduce the names of each bird owl, peacock, sparrow. Owl Peacock Sparrow Your toddler learns to associate feather with its corresponding bird. Help your child narrate a story about each bird and its feather.
